*️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️*️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️ We ARE looking for one Workawayer for July*️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️*️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️

PLEASE - We only have room for one person. DO NOT apply if you are volunteering on behalf of a couple or family

We live along the East coast of Ireland with our house overlooking the Irish Sea and local golf course in the beautiful port town of Wicklow (about 45 mins drive by car south of Dublin city center). We live in a 5 bedroom house with our 10 year old twin boys, our older son (18 yrs) and daughter (20yrs), throw in the dog and you could say that we have a busy household.

There is plenty to do in Wicklow town and surrounding county - including hill walking, mountain/road biking, kayaking, sea swimming, surfing, fishing, trail running or just take it easy in one of the local pubs (when they open again) or coffee shops. We have a spacious 5 bedroom house with a large front and back garden that we are slowly (very) trying to put our own stamp on.

We are an active family with a healthy interest in all kinds of outdoors activities.

We will do our best to help the Workawayer integrate with our family life. We also want them to experience the richness of the surrounding area including the hustle and bustle of local life, so we will do what we can to help the Workawayer participate in activities or travel that interests them.

Most of our past Workawayers liked to travel at weekends, however, if they wished to stay with us in Wicklow that is ok too. The only thing we ask of Workawayers staying with us during weekends is that they help out in preparation and cleanup of any meals that they have partaken in. You are of course also welcome to take part in other family activities on weekends if you so wish.

We have equipment that workawayers can borrow (bikes, kayak, surf board, paddle board, etc.) and there are other workawayers in the area who we can introduce you to.

    PLEASE NOTE:
*️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️Due to limited space in our house we are NOT looking for any couples or family volunteers.

Both parents are working during the week, as are our two older children, so for the month of July we are simply looking for a little help around the house while being a contact point for the two younger kids during the day.

A typical day will look like this, but may vary depending on what activities are taking place that week.

10:00 Tidy up after breakfast and carry out some chores around the house (empty washing machine, clothes dryer, dishwasher, fold clothes, etc.) .
Some days may require an earlier start if the twins have a planned activity and may need help to get ready.

Once breakfast is over, the twins will come and go, so we just require somebody to be available if they need help with anything., go on adventures (walks along the cliff, swimming in the seas, short cycle tours to the beach, etc.)

    Tidy up after lunch

On days where both parents are at work, prepare/cook dinner for the family

When you are partaking in any meal in the house, even at weekends, you will be expected to help in preparation and clean-up

    Accommodation

The volunteer will have following provided by us, without charge

*️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️ Have a large single room to themselves on the ground floor of our two storey house. You will have to share a bathroom with the rest of the family, but there are more than one.
    *️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️ WiFi internet
    *️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️ Bed linen and towels
    *️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️ Washing facilities for clothing
*️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️ All meals while you are in the house - we have our main meal in the evening around 18:00 and we try to eat this together, even though the teenagers try not to.

It would be nice to have the other meals together, but it does not always happen. Packed lunches for personal day trips should be organised separately.

*️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️We are reasonably flexible when it comes to food, however, we are not vegetarian/vegan and if you are then you will have to be flexible with us. We do not cater for fad eating/celebrity diets such as Athkins, Paleo, etc..

Part of our family are bilingual in English/Norwegian. We live about a 20 mins walk from the town centre. There are regular bus services to Dublin and the airport and also rail services along the East Coast of Ireland. There are plenty of local beaches and cliffs walks in the area and we are happy to help volunteers make as much of there time while staying with us - we have bikes and kayaks available for use.
