Description
We are a family of 5, parents and 3 siblings, living in a small village called Andabamba, 45 min away from the city of Huanuco, Peru. The property is big and our project is to build an art residence where we can host people and provide a space to create art, share with the local artisans and also meditate, enjoy gardening and nature, while we exchange cultures and create a community between visitors and the villagers.
The house has the view of the mountains nearby and there are lots of fruit trees and an edible garden. We have a pool inside and the weather is warm all year long!
Also, we're very close to pre-colonial archaeological places like "Kotosh", there's a pintoresque village called Tomaykichwa to visit and lots of hiking to the mountains and nearby lakes.
Right now, we need help in the vegetable garden and fruit trees, and general maintenance of the house, like preparing and painting walls and helping the residence get ready. On the future we would probably extend the help in hospitality and maybe translation english/spanish.
Also, we would love to do or share projects that could be nice to built up with the help of volunteers, like pottery, knitting projects, mural painting, a clay oven for bread, etc. Also, sometimes we get help from neighbors around and share time with them as well.
Mélani, the oldest sister, is the only one who speaks english fluently and the rest of the family understands just the very basic, so a basic knowledge of spanish is required and also is good for practicing!.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
This is a good opportunity to learn about the culture in this region, to get to experience life in a tranquil village close to nature and share with the villagers. We're a arsty and crafty family, so we would love to spend time creating art together, we have a sewing machine, clay for pottery and all that is needed for artistic painting.
Also, this is a good opportunity for practicing and learning spanish and enjoy the slow-paced time here.
Help
We are looking for help taking care of the vegetable garden and trees, farming, harvesting. We're open for advice about how to make it more sustainable and organic.
Also, we need help in the general maintenance of the house, like painting walls and repairing. Building or carpenter skills would be appreciated.
Also, if there are volunteers with more arsty skills or mindfullness knowledge (yoga, meditation), we are more than happy to welcome them so we can share and learn together.

Accommodation
We have available solo and shared bethrooms (2 beds maximum) with shared bathrooms.
The three meals will be covered (Traditional peruvian food altough we make many vegetarian dishes)
The access to the kitchen is allowed all the time if they want to prepare something at any time.
Wifi available, suitable for digital nomads.
What else ...
The city is 45 min away, via colectivos or public transportation. If they come later than 20hrs the only transportation available are colectivos, we don't recommend coming back too late for their own safety.
There are hiking places nearby, like "The five lakes". Some archaeological and historical places like "Manos cruzadas de Kotosh" or the colonial village of Tomaykichwa are also very close. Tingo Maria, wich is the jungle side of Huanuco, is only 3 hours away.
The general rules of the house are no drugs or smoking, no discrimination of any kind and a resposible use of the space, tools, furniture, etc.
