Description
We are a family of two living close to the sea and city centre in Dublin City, with a cat and a dog and a garden in need of lots of attention, looking for a culinary inspired guest to come and share our space, hang out and chat. Dog walking and spending time with my teenage son who has varying interests such as martial arts and film making and mural painting would be great too. We always have home decor projects that needs attending to: so really open to negotiating the arrangement with the right person. Who must - my son insists- be able to deal with his edgy humour!
Things we have found out on our Workaway journey:
We find that a month is a good length for a stay with us. We also have learnt that we are NOT good English teachers - so you need a good level of English to stay with us. We just have room for one person.
Please do not respond if you are seeking to improve your English or would not be ok being alone I. The house for up to a week with the dog if we are away.
We support the Palestinian cause and condemn the genocide of people in the Gaza Strip. This does not make us anti- semetic. It makes us human.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
We are in a quiet safe central location with lots of green space. You will have access to the city centre or beach, both just 20 minutes cycle or bus ride away, so can choose between the city bustle, museums, and pubs, or Dollymount beach or St Anne’s Park as an expansive space.
The house is relaxed and easy going, at the weekends we usually head off for an adventure walking the dog in some new place.
We love to learn about other cultures and share gardening knowledge.
I work from home so it is great to have company, but also someone who loves to get out and about and explore independently. We cannot accommodate other home workers or students who need a quiet place to study.
Projects involving children
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.

Help
We would like some help with the garden, cooking, and home projects. Mostly, we enjoy the company and chat, the labradoodle likes to be walked- he is an old soul in a two year old body, my teenage son loves to chat and we love watching films. So it’s as much a cultural exchange as task oriented but we cannot support English learners. We do ask that who ever comes is mature independent, mature and resourced and ok to stay on their own sometimes if we go away during their stay.

Languages spoken
English: Fluent

Accommodation
You will have your own room and share the family bathroom.
You are welcome to eat the food we have in the house and we can share cooking.
What else ...
We are close to buses, the local Dart and Connolly train station.
We are a quiet house with a teenager so it’s not the best house for late night revellers, but we are very open minded and appreciative of diversity and difference.
