Description
Welcome! We're an English couple living in Grasse, Before we settled in France, we travelled extensively around the world and worked on yachts. We live in a recently renovated charming traditional farmhouse. Prior to our ownership, this house had a rich history, serving as a small farmhouse for a couple of hundred years, a holiday home for 40 years, then rented, later squatted, and finally left vacant for about 4 years. It was a house that yearned for love, and we fell for its charm. Now, we're inviting you to be a part of this unique journey.
Over the years, we've renovated the property and have done almost all the work ourselves with valuable help from our workaway guests. But there's always more work to do. Mick is a qualified wooden boat builder, so he is great with wood but he's also super practical and can put his hand to anything from building to plumbing. I do more of the gardening, plastering, tiling and decorating.
When we moved here, the garden was totally overgrown with areas we couldn't access. Over the years, we've mostly managed to get on top of it. We discovered olive, plum and fig trees with old walls and wildflowers. Now the garden has a rustic charm with some lovely outdoor areas to chill and a wooden swimming pool to wallow in. But with half an acre of land (2,500 m2), there's always work to do in the garden.
We're constantly learning and growing, and we believe that your unique skills and experiences can contribute significantly to our journey. We're seeking assistance from individuals who are passionate about gardening and decorating and who are eager to share their knowledge with us.
Who are we? We've been together for twenty years and live with our three cats. We met travelling the world and working on superyachts. Mick still works within the yachting industry and loves a project. Kirsti is a psycho-spiritual practitioner and writer and loves all things personal and spiritual development and good food. We love outdoor life like hiking, paddle boarding, skiing and camping. And we love to socialise and entertain.

HELPFUL THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW
We have three cats. We don't have children. We're not a farm or hostel. We're quite spontaneous, so we tend to organise workaway visits within the month. If you're planning a trip in the future feel free to contact us nearer the time.
YOU NEED TO HAVE YOUR OWN VEHICLE TO STAY HERE. IF YOU EMAIL US, PLEASE CONFIRM THAT YOU ARE TRAVELLING WITH A VEHICLE.
Enjoy your travels, have fun and live in the moment :)Types of help and learning opportunities

Previously, we have taught and inspired workawayers to have a go at new things and learn new skills such as plastering, rendering, patio building, laying underfloor heating, gardening and vegetable growing, cooking and all sorts of other home and garden renovation projects. Kirsti especially likes to encourage our female workers to have a go at jobs often thought of as male jobs.
We're not French but can share a lot about English culture as well as the many amazing countries we've travelled to. We also have a good knowledge of our local area, especially local hiking, good spots for freshwater swimming, best beaches, things to do and tourist attractions.Help
Projects in the house are mostly small and include decorating. But if you have specific skills you'd like to use, maybe we can find a project for you.
Projects in the garden are mostly general gardening with occassional petit renovations. For example, laying paving, rendering, water systems, vegetable plot maintenance, pruning, chopping wood, and planting.

The guest accommodation is in the house. We have 2 guest rooms that have double beds and patio doors with their own private hallway. The guest bathroom is next to the guest bedrooms. Our suite is at the other end of the house with its own staircase.
If you prefer to camp or park your campervan in the garden, that's also possible.
We have a small swimming pool to cool off in the summer and a wood burner to be cosy in the winter.
Outside, we have two separate areas with sofas for chilling, an outside dining area and a BBQ.
Wifi and English tv.
Although we enjoy socialising and eating with our guests, we are no longer able to do tourist things with our workawayers. Therefore, for your convenience, you need to have a vehicle. The public transport is not good, and we are not within walking distance of a village. What else ...
Situated between the Alpes and the Mediterranean, the Cote d'Azur is a beautiful and picturesque little corner of France. From the glam of Cannes to the rustic hill tops villages, this area has a lot to offer. We're 20 minutes from Cannes, 40 minutes from Nice, 45 minutes from Monaco, 10 minutes from Grasse and it's about 50 minutes to the Italian boarder.
There are many beautiful walks, lakes, rivers and even islands close by, with skiing just 45 minutes drive away in the winter. Come and explore and discover for yourself why this little corner of France is so famous.A little more information
