    Description

    version anglaise:

Charlotte and I are going to live in a barn in a very quiet valley, deep in the pyrenees mountains (Sentein, 30km from Saint-Girons ).

The place is magical in terms of landscapes, very quiet and away from the stress of the city.
There are many beautiful walks to do in the surrounding areas, somewhere to get away from it all and recharge your batteries!

The fauna is very rich (Deer, wild boars, foxes, raptors, owls ...), and there is a lot of nice people around :)

We are starting to renovate a barn, 5 min walk from the road. We want to be as autonomous as possible, in a cheerful spirit of mutual aid, by putting things in place with our neighbors (so there will sometimes be days where we will be doing work exchange with neighbors!)

We try to live as much as possible in harmony with our environment, we have dry toilets, we heat with wood (wood that we make ourselves on site), for electricity we will put a solar installation in place very soon.

Our mains projects: building a wood shelter, wood cutting, chopping and storing. carrying building materials to our barn (5 min walk from the road, on our back or donkeys backs!), digging a trench around our barn for drainage, digging out old manure in the barn to create a level flooring. So, quite physical work...need to have motivation and energy for it!

Accomodation: We have got a very nice and ecologic house that you can use, from mid september to mid october

Food is a balanced, simple, vegetarian diet, depending on the time of year, it can include veg from our garden, wild pickings, or food from the local market town of St. Giron. Our diet is mainly organic.

we would also be open to welcome people who would like to help with cooking and general household work as part of their working hours, which includes looking after our boy (who is homeschooling), this then enables Charlotte to work on our other projects.

people who come to stay are welcomed to immerse themselves in our day to day life-style, to experience our way of living, and also as an exchange of knowledge and experiences. We are happy to share with you our knowledge on edible wild plants, natural medicine, renovation work, gardening, food preservation (by lactofermentation, drying, sterilization, etc).

On days off there is lots of great walking in the area, or simply hang out with the majestic views that are all around.

We practice meditation and yoga, and are happy to share these practices too!

Hope to see you soon :))
