Description
**Welcome to our little corner of Tuscany**
We are a small family made up of two humans and one tiny dog:
Carolina (30, Italian), Dave (33, from New Zealand) and Fiorello our 10-year-old dachshund and full-time cuddle ad barking expert.
After spending the last few years living in beautiful New Zealand, we’ve recently settled in a peaceful village, Reggello, about 40 km from Florence, surrounded by nature, olive trees, and quiet views.
We love:
Traveling and discovering new cultures;
Being outdoors – hiking, gardening, exploring the countryside;
Sharing good food and great conversations around the table.
We’re looking forward to welcoming Workawayers who are easygoing, respectful, and curious. Whether you enjoy helping in the garden, doing small DIY tasks, or cooking together – you’ll find a warm, relaxed atmosphere here.
We’re looking for travelers in need of a short pit stop, not a long stay.
There isn’t a huge amount of work to do here, so we’re not looking for long-term volunteers.
Reggello is a quiet little town in a great location for exploring Tuscany. It’s close to beautiful cities like Florence, Arezzo, and Siena – all perfect for day trips.
Reggello itself is peaceful and authentic, but there’s not a lot going on in terms of nightlife or tourist attractions. That’s why this is the right place for someone who wants to slow down for a bit, experience real Italian culture, and enjoy a more local, laid-back way of life.
We welcome curious, respectful people who are looking for a simple but genuine experience.
We love having people from different cultures around – it enriches our daily life and creates a great exchange of ideas, stories, and traditions.

We want Workawayers to feel truly at home here, just as we did during our own experiences as volunteers in other people's homes.
Our goal is to offer guests the chance to experience authentic Italian life – not just as visitors, but as part of the family.
You'll have the opportunity to taste and learn about traditional Italian cuisine, including family recipes and local specialties. We also love sharing stories, customs, and traditions from our culture.
It's really important to us that everyone feels included and valued, creating meaningful connections and learning from each other's backgrounds.Help
We are currently renovating Carolina's family house and could use some help, especially in the garden. The main tasks include weeding, repotting plants, sweeping leaves, and general outdoor maintenance.
We’re also planning to start a small vegetable garden in the backyard and would love to build a chicken coop – so any experience or interest in these projects is very welcome!Languages

At home we speak English. Carolina speaks both Italian and English. Dave is a native English speaker and is currently learning Italian.Accommodation
We offer a comfortable double bed with a shared bathroom, all within our home. Bedding and towels are provided.
Our diet is mostly Mediterranean. When we’re at home, we usually cook lunch and dinner, and helpers are more than welcome to join us and share meals.
If we're not around, we’ll make sure there’s food available so you can help yourself.What else ...
Reggello is a charming small village with a few shops, cafés, and restaurants. There's also a well-stocked supermarket and a small movie theater that occasionally hosts live performances.
Florence is just 40 km away and can be easily reached by car or public transport, making it perfect for day trips or cultural outings.A little more information
