Our project is a registered not-for-profit circa 2005. It is an eco-lodge and retreat centre located on a 5-acer parcel of land located on a terrace of The Salmonier River Valley at the head of St. Mary’s Bay, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. We provide off-the-grid facilities with microhydro, solar and/or wind turbine on site. The focus is on sustainable living in Nature utilizing locally available resources. We host small-scale retreats, and work-away programs for those who want to deepen and learn natural building techniques and self-sufficiency. The project is designed to help connect people with nature, spiritual practice and alternative living.
Looking forward to connecting :)

Tasks for helpers could include activities related to building sustainable structures, organic gardening, landscaping, gathering firewood, collecting water & cleaning. We are in need for individuals who are handy with tools, and/or have a green thumb! We are flexible and encourage helpers to work with what resonates inside them. We ask Helpers to contribute an average of ~5 hours help per day in return for food, lodging and good company!
For accommodations, we have a wood-heated bunkhouse with 7 individual rooms, shared kitchenette & bathroom. Drinking water is from a nearby ground spring, and main water supply is gravity-fed. Food will also be provided and we strive to eat organically, local, and mainly vegetarian. We welcome you to check out our website and drop us an email if you are interested.
