Our Family School in Bodhgaya, India, is a very small school run for Dalit children in the local community.
The Children that attend the School are from extremely poor and disadvantaged families and up until now would never have the opportunity to be educated. Our vision is to give our children a free basic education, improving their future prospects and keeping them off the streets. Children are taught Hindi, English, Maths and Social Science.
The school is run by married couple Sudhir and Radha, who live with their young family out of 2 rooms at the school. There are 100 students and 3 teachers. The school was started from nothing in 2008, and since the building is 80% completed through fundraising and donation efforts.
