    Description

Father, 50, engineer, manager of small company, teaching part time at national university, french and english fluent, conversational chinese. Mother, chinese, not living at home. We are awaiting sporty visitors able to follow on with outdoors activities, music tutors would be welcome. Beauvais (Picardy / Ile de France) is linked with a low cost airport, you may find a 14€ air-ticket from Spain or other neighbour countries Theoretically one hour from Paris but considering traffic jam or train connections, practically closer to one hour and a half.
There is no domestic dedicated tasks for the visitor but meals, washing-up; cleaning are a family (and visitor!) team work. To follow on for sports, short journeys or holidays (visit friends, ski, sailing boat, ...). It is to note that we are not requiring french language for family use . Europe (EU) or Work Holiday Visa: (Argentina, Australia, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Hong-Kong, Japan, Mexico, Peru, Taiwan, Uruguay) will be mainly considered.

We do prefer chinese speaking guys but we are also ready to receive spanish locutors (eventually vietnamese, italian or mother tongue english). Overseas chinese speakers are welcome (S'pore, US, ...) but preferably through Working Holidays Visa. We found already 20 stagers. (8 from Taiwan, and you may find us on several taiwanese au pair blogs!)
We are a single parent family, we already got many au pairs home, then now age limit is reached for the kid but we decided to keep on receiving visitors from the world, For the young travellers, the town nearby (8km) is provided with university where you can easily follow free programs (languages, US and british civilisation, etc.). Buses are available, but easiest is to go with neighbours who are commuting everyday!
We prefer longer stay but still may receive visitors for shorter stays.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

I have a eighteen years old child who does not need assistance any-more but we kept the pleasure to receive home youth from the world for cultural and linguistic interest. Camille, (boy) enjoys outside activities, playing the piano... I could add as part of family the au pair girl or workawayer, it is the 20th we are receiving home, so she/he is somewhere part of the usual family portrait! We are awaiting sporty guests able to follow on with outdoors activities, music tutors would be welcome.
We cook fresh food everyday according to world inspiration. (big part organic food) .
Outdoors!! A sporty or super sporty girl is rather awaited! You may have a free week per month and week-end when you wish, you are welcome to follow on any family activity.
Linguistic exchange is a big part, due to 15 years of au pair home, Camille is able to communicate at upper level in four languages (chinese, french, english, spanish).
I am top engineer and may explain mechanics, electricity, remote control, IT and other technics.
Was manager of a small company dealing with house renovating and I am proficient in self made carpentry, electricity, heating, water systems etc... I am acrobatic pruning specialist too... And ethologic horse rider, most of the ultra beginners were riding in the nature after few hours or less!

  • Help

    Help

Few house keeping could be welcome but domestic tasks are only participative. Daily routine is to wake up with the family to share breakfast around 7h00, to help preparing food around 11h30 and have a lunch without your mobile phone; to help preparing food and washing the dishes for diner around 18h30 (diner is also without your mobile phone)!!.
If you have french class or university program at noon, that is prevailing of course.
Other routine, is not really a routine but the tasks to be shared are generally outdoors, roughly 20 hours per week, depending on your studies or touring program ... and meteorological conditions!
    Jobs are explain and shared!
A project among others is to re-open some public paths in the woods near by, I am in charge through the local association of this activity with the agreement of the council house. The area is classed as "Natura 2000 reserve"

Linguistic exchange is a big plus, due to 15 years of au pair home, Camille is able to communicate at upper level in four languages (chinese, french, english, spanish), so the aim is to spend time with him and myself during meals, activities in or outside home ans talk to him in your mother tongue (chinese, spanish preferably, but vietnamese, italian or english could be foreseen too).

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

a single room upstairs inside the house, slightly open in the mezzanine, 17m², window

Rather large but messy house, unusual "country loft" style; don't worry link with former visitors will help to consider! Ex-au pair room could have to be temporarily shared if we receive another girl student (or former au pair often visiting). We cook fresh food everyday according to world inspiration. (big part organic food) .
