    Description

We are a warm-hearted family with two children living on a small former farm in the peaceful countryside of East Frisia, near the North Sea. Our home is surrounded by meadows, small canals, and lots of animals: goats, sheep, chickens, ducks, rabbits, peacocks, dogs, cats – and also a few horses.

We live a quiet, nature-based lifestyle and love sharing this with friendly, open-minded visitors from around the world. We’re not running a business through Workaway – the help we are looking for is purely private and part of our family life, home and garden.

    What we offer:

You’ll stay in one of our cozy wooden sleeping barrels – usually used for guests, but offered free of charge and privately to you during your stay. We share daily meals and invite you to enjoy life at a slower pace.

In your free time, you can explore the beautiful East Frisian landscape, go cycling along the dykes, watch the sunsets, visit small nearby towns, or simply relax with the animals.

This is a great place if you enjoy being around animals, children, nature, and are looking for a peaceful experience full of heart, simplicity, and cultural exchange.

We would be very happy to have creative people who would like to support us in caring for the animals and caring for the old farm. Painters, gardeners, we want to create a beautiful, colourful vegetable garden. we also have many fruit trees. In the fall we make our own juice for the winter! Creative people who would like to get involved in breathing some colourful life into this old farm.

  • Help

    Help

We would be very happy to have creative people who would like to support us in caring for the animals and care for the old farm.

What kind of help do we need?

Animal care: feeding, grooming, cleaning enclosures, giving fresh hay and water

Horse care: brushing, ground tasks (e.g. lunging), helping bring horses to pasture, simple daily routines

Gardening: watering, weeding, harvesting herbs and vegetables

Family life: playing with our kids, sharing stories or crafts, light household help

Creative tasks: small seasonal preparations for animals (like setting up shelters, cleaning the paddock area), painting birdhouses, helping with simple outdoor improvements

If you have experience with horses, we are happy to involve you in more activities – possibly including riding, depending on your skills and our horses’ needs. If you're interested, we also plan to improve our natural paddock and pasture areas (nothing heavy-duty, but help is welcome).

  • What else ...

    What else ...

In your free time, you can enjoy the peace and quiet of the East Frisian countryside. Our farm is located in a small rural village, surrounded by fields, canals, and nature. It’s a great place for bike rides, walks along the dykes, birdwatching, or simply relaxing in the garden with our animals.

The North Sea coast is only about 15–20 minutes away by car, with several beautiful beaches, historic towns like Esens and Norden, and traditional fishing villages to explore. On weekends, you can visit local markets, take a ferry to one of the nearby islands, or relax in one of the regional spas (Therme).

We can offer you a bike during your stay, and there's a bus stop about 2 km from the farm. However, public transport is limited in the countryside, so some independence or willingness to walk/ride a bike is helpful.

If you're looking for nature, simplicity, and a quiet, meaningful experience away from city life – you'll feel right at home here.
