I spend two really great weeks with Rachelle and her daughter in Duncan. I was a bit lost on my journey through Canada and was welcomed with open arms on very short notice.
I have been able to learn a lot from the family whether in terms of work around Tiny Homes or in terms of the great way to cook. It always tasted delicious.
We also made
… read more great trips together and had many nice conversations. The family is always happy to learn more about you and love to share their own stories.
The work was sometimes exhausting and there were also long working days but if you are open to learn new things and like to work it is definitely the right place. I highly recommend staying with Rachelle.
Thank you again for everything and I would be very happy if we meet again one day in Germany. You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.

Rachelle, and Grace were gracious and welcoming during our time with them.
We spent 3 weeks working with them on their tiny home build (initially we meant to stay 2 weeks, but extended). What an experience! We left with new friends, nothing brings people together like building something together. :)
A bit about what we did:
Installing
… read more windows/levelled windows, stained all cedar sidings (by hand, and with a sprayer), painted all metal trims, built the front and rear cedar siding from scratch, finished installing interior shell/walls, finished the bedroom storage loft, and many more jobs.
Workdays are 5 hours a day, with Thursday/Friday as our days off. During workdays Rachelle made us the most delicious lunch and dinners, days off we were responsible for our food and food prep. Our accommodation was fantastic, and the suite allowed us our own space.
We would love to stay with them again, until next time! You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.

This was an amazing experience for us both Jayzer and Tomas were positive and enthusiastic about helping with our tiny home. They dove in and were not afraid to tackle any aspect of the project. They were both detail orientated and made sure each job was done right. I could not have asked for a better duo and they really helped inspire me to keep

Staying at Rachelle's is honestly the best, that can happen to you. I appreciate so much having learned to know her and her daughter, they enrich your live. I always smile, when I think back to the week I spent there. She is a fantastic cook, always made sure there was something fresh and delicious, as well as some very nice snacks to eat.
… read more (Rachelle, I love your vegan avocado-pudding). She took us to some nice places in her time off and we had good talks. I can fully confirm the feedback of Kate and Alex.
Thank you for everything!

We had a lovely time with Rachelle and her daughter. They are both very welcoming and provide a nice room with personnel bathroom. She fed us very well with loads of fruit and veg, and there s always a hot breakfast in the morning. She's very relaxed on working hours and wants you to have a good time. We were sad to leave but plan on going back.
