    Description

We run two dairy farms in the West of Ireland and will be calving and milking 450 cows from this Feb so we are very busy. The farm is run daily by a father and son team with help of a full time farm manager but there is always lots of work to be done especially from Feb to June when calving and breeding is happening. We live in a farm house opposite the dairy farm with our 6 year old and 1 year old sons, there is another farm 10 miles away. At the house we have 3 horses and I teach side saddle riding and am an animal assisted therapy facilitator. We welcome an encourage visitors to our farm.

    What else ...

The local area is a small village with a shop, petrol station, restaurant and pub it is friendly but not too busy. The nearest town is accessible by car. There is a bus route to Westport and Dublin only a couple of minutes from the house. It is not possible for us to spend much time taking people out to sightsee during our busy period but we are more than happy to offer help and advice on what to do.
We would like people to come and be part of the family and share experiences. We are a hard working family and would expect people to help out to the best of their ability rather than coming to watch but for the right people this will be rewarding experience for us all we love to share what we know with others.
