    Taking/accepting workawayers at the moment.

Please note: At the moment, I’m looking for handy, skilled, and creative individuals who can help me set up my new place. Tasks may include painting, simple DIY projects, and general improvements.

I’m Marina, from Brazil, and I’ve been living in Southeast Asia for 4 years now. I’ve always loved connecting with people from around the world, sharing experiences, and learning from each other. I recently moved into a new home in Penang, and I’m looking for independent, proactive, and easygoing people to help bring this place to life.

If you enjoy practical projects, working with your hands, and don’t mind giving a little love to a friendly dog, you’ll feel right at home here.

Please write to me in English, Portuguese or Spanish only, and let me know in your message if you have experience with any of the tasks mentioned above.

I look forward to hearing from you!

    — Marina

    Note on reviews:
The reviews on my profile are from when I was living in a different home with a partner. This is now a new space where I live on my own, and I’m excited to welcome Workawayers here for the first time.

Travellers will get to experience life on a tropical island, surrounded by lush rainforest and just minutes from the beach. Penang offers a unique mix of natural beauty, history, and culture, and living here gives you time to really soak it all in.

    You can:

Walk to Miami Beach in minutes for a swim or sunset
Visit and hike in Penang National Park, mountains, and waterfalls
Explore the island’s vibrant food scene — a fusion of Malay, Chinese, and Indian flavours
Discover Malaysian history and culture in George Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site
Learn or practice English or Portuguese
Taste exotic tropical fruits and visit local farms (including durian — the “king of fruits”!)
Spot tropical birds and other wildlife in their natural habitat,

It’s a place to work with your hands, connect with nature, and experience the cultural richness of Penang.

  • Help

    Help

I’m looking for travellers who enjoy practical, hands-on projects and love animals.
At the moment, I could use help with:

    - Painting walls and cabinets

    - Simple DIY or repairs

    - Redecorating and setting up my new home

    - Occasional pet sitting for Kaya, my friendly dog, when I travel

In exchange, you’ll have your own bedroom and plenty of free time to explore beautiful Penang.
I usually ask for up to 5 hours of help, Monday to Friday, with weekends free — and when it’s just pet sitting, the schedule can be much more relaxed.

If you’re creative, handy, and happy to work independently, you’ll fit right in here!
