Help is needed to maintain a fairly large property now that 'children' have fled the nest. The house is set in rural farm countryside, overlooking the Conwy valley and the Snowdonia mountain range. The view from the house is breathtaking.
The host is a fluent Welsh speaker and enjoys sharing language skills. The host also volunteers at local Cadw and National Trust buildings and so has a wealth of knowledge to share about the history of the area. The Workawayer will benefit from learning about the local language and history. There may even be time to visit some of the historical buildings.
Help with gardening chores, including scouring and painting a cast iron garden fence. If the weather isn't good, travellers may be asked to strip wallpaper indoors, or assist with other indoor chores.
Accommodation will be one private double room with a shared bathroom. Food will be available at the house. Cooking can be done for you, or can be a communal task at dinner time. Breakfast and lunch will be a self-serve setup.
There is a bus that runs to the local village, but the timetable is quite sparse. There's lots of walking, climbing, biking etc. to be done locally, as well as visiting castles and other cultural sites.
