    Description

Hello Workawayers! This is Ivana (38) with baby Viola (2.5). We live in a flat in a village in northern Italy, 45mins by train from Milan and 15mins by car from Mxp airport.
No seaside (alas!) or mountains nearby (both about 2 hours by car). Lakes (Varese and Como) approx 40 mins by car.
Our village is quiet, just 9000 souls, but we live smack in the centre and everything is within walking distance (supermarket, pharmacy, library, bar, train station etc).
This would be my first time hosting; a few weeks would suit me best. Smoking not allowed.

I would love to host a C1 (even better if native) English speaker, to both improve my own English and boost my daughter's speaking (she talks loads in Italian, she is reticent in English). Previous experience with preschoolers would be great, so you both know what to expect from a toddler (tantrums! Lol ) and are able to engage in play and activities appropriate to her age.
I work (from home!) till 3pm, and Viola attends an outdoor nursery till 4pm. So you would have at least until 3 or 4 pm free, plus weekends.
I would expect you to spend time with us in the afternoon, share dinner with us (I cook but am no chef, mind you ;)) until Viola goes to bed at around 9 pm.
There’s virtually nothing to do in the village in the evening.

I am trying to raise Viola as bilingual Italian - English. My English is quite good, but mostly business and reading-based. Talking to her all the time in English is quite a chore. I would love hosting a native speaker we could both practice with. It is not necessary to me that you speak any Italian at all, but of course I would be happy to help you learn it as well. Since the help really only requires talking (and playing) it is essential that you are a communicative type and ready to put distractions (phone) aside in your "help" hours.

You would have your own single room, shared bathroom. We do not have a television in the house. I do not cook lunch as I only grab a quick bite while working, but would happily include you in our family breakfasts and dinners daily (we are not vegetarians, mind you).
You are welcome to try your hand in the kitchen anytime in case you enjoy cooking or baking!
