    Description

Prévu 15 août 2024 pour un mois..

An organic winemaker situated in the sunny South of France, close to beautiful lakes, river gorges and the Mediterranean Sea. There is always something to do here, but help is especially welcome during the harvest time, grape picking is physically challenging but is rewarding and takes place in a beautiful sunny landscape. Downtime there are some stunning hiking trails, you can paddle on the lake nearby, or Montpellier is 20 minute car ride. We are a gay male couple, aged 40 and 51, so tolerance, openness, respect are the main house rules. French is the primary language. We also have a small dog and a cat.

  • Help

    Help

During the harvest time, which typically lasts for 1 month from early August to late September, we basically can't have enough pairs of hands. Harvesting is very physical, it can be grape picking, tasks in the cellar, power hosing the crates to be reused the next day, but can also be helping to shop for and prepare meals. Outwith harvest, there is always something to do, like pruning of the vines, labelling or bottling in the cellar.

    Accommodation

Accommodation will be basic and functional, but you will have your own room in the house. The house is a large old maison de vigneron. It is not fancy but it is functional. The house is situated in a small village with bakeries and 1 bar.

    What else ...

The local landscape is a stunning blend of mountains, hiking trails, river gorges, all set amongst acres of vines. You can explore nearby Lake Salagou, Cirque de Moureze, cute villages like Saint Guillem le Désert, and Montpellier is a 20 minute car ride away. Public transport is not fantastic, but there is a direct bus to Montpellier. If you come with your own transport it could be perfect. If not, hitch hiking is quite common here. Montpellier Airport is approx 30 mins by car. Béziers Airport 45 mins. Toulouse and Marseille 2h15. Barcelona 3h15.

Campervans are very welcome, but please note, unfortunately during the harvest time we don't have enough space for you to park beside the house. We can find you a nice spot in the vines however.
