    Description

We are a Hare Krishna religious organization.

We are a community of 40 people living in this place regularly.
The people who visit us are very nice.
We have two big buildings with lots of rooms for visitors. The Workaway volunteers will use some of these rooms.
We are vegetarian and we don't eat meat, fish or eggs. We don't drink alcohol and smoking is not allowed on the farm.
We are looking for 3 or 4 volunteers from Workaway to help us with the cows and the gardens, planting, watering, cleaning weeds, etc. We also need help cleaning the surroundings, and general cleaning tasks in and outside of the buildings. We often need help in the kitchen to cut vegetables and washing up for the members of the community.
This expansive 300 hectare farm has a beautiful forest, prairies, and cultivated land, and spreads out in different directions. It is bordered by the Tajuña river and is situated 5 kms from the nearest village, Brihuega. This village has many tourists spots and maintains a population of 2500 inhabitants. The climate in summer time is usually very nice. We want mainly a cultural and social exchange with the volunteers. We don't have any business or money exchange with our volunteers.
This is a spiritual organisation and maintains a very peaceful atmosphere in the area.
We hope you will like helping in this peaceful atmosphere.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We give classes about Vedic culture and philosophy in Spanish or English everyday. If you Know English you can learn Spanish very easily on our farm as we often translate the classes from Spanish to English. Many people have learnt to speak Spanish very quickly here. This has been our experience with the people who came here over the last few years.
Also the cow sanctuary is exceptional because there one can broaden one's experiences of animal care. This ahimsa cow protection program works in accordance with the Vedic recommendations and scriptural injunctions. The cows are treated as our family members and their milk is greatly valued for the benefit it holds for human society. These cows remain with us until they die as a natural death. Volunteers are welcomed to help here, brush the cows and lose their fear of cows and bulls.
There are plenty of walks here. There is a library available for study and reading purposes.

We need help in gardening (planting, watering, taking out weeds, harvesting, etc).
We also need someone who can help us with kitchen duties (cutting vegetables and washing up) and cleaning the surroundings. Volunteers would never be asked to help with kitchen duties related to guesthouse guests nor to clean any areas used by the guesthouse.

    What else ...

We have a School of Bhaktivedanta Studies with students who like to study oriental philosophy.
We give classes about Vedic culture and philosophy in Spanish or English everyday. The library has plenty of books on this subject which volunteers can use.

Daily there are 2 main vegetarian wholesome meals and a light supper. Completely free of any monetary exchange.

Initially we invite all volunteers for minimum 2 weeks. The stay can be extended at the discretion of the administration.
Please all volunteers must bring passports, and health insurance policies.

Locally they can bathe in the river and also go to the village to visit the arabic caves and see the lavender fields in August. The lavender here is very aromatic, lavender essence, soap and many products are sold locally plus the famous honey of this area. The volunteers can reach the village on foot through the hills or we can take them in our cars as we often go there. Madrid is just one hour and fifteen minutes away on the local bus and is full of tourist sights.
