    Description

As tourism is eagerly being pushed onto the Guanacaste and the rainforest regions, specially since opening Liberia's international airport, San Jose's reputation has suspiciously gotten worse. Yet, data shows that at least 95k documented United Statians reside permanently in San Jose, plus thousands of others that spend seasons here as untaxed digital nomads.

As for myself, after 10+ years of slow travelling abroad, I have chosen San Jose downtown as my beloved home. Here is where I feel safe as a trans person, as a woman, as a white-presenting person, with a very liberal and queer political agenda.

I think of San Jose as a (very) little hidden gem that the locals are gatekeeping from the overbearing gentrification the rest of the country is suffering from. Think about San Jose as a mini Portland, OR: Surrounded by lush nature but overshadowed by its "cooler" higher money$maker neighbors.

So, if you're down to a genuine, local experience, I'll be so, so very happy to host you!

    Bienvenides amigues viajer@s 💚

My apartment is a window to the life of a true local, queer millennial josefine - I'd be happy to connect you with events for the community.

    Help

What type of work I need help with?

Option A - If I am travelling, then house/pet sitting. I have two small-breed pups I call my children.

Option B - If I am home, and depending on the skills you'd like to offer, it's usually a mix of cultural exchange, some tidying up/cleaning, or some indoor gardening. Whatever you can offer to do well and ✨unsupervised.✨

    What I DO NOT need:
    - "Pet sitting" were my dogs are ignored.
    - More house work for me when hosting you.
    - Supervising or guiding you through a task.

    [ Important: ]
    - I do not host people outside the LGBTQIA+ umbrella.
    - I do not host "overnighters" . I expect you to be able to do some work on the same day you plan to stay.
    - I do not provide house keys/free entry.
