We are a British family with a kitesurfing school in the coolest town in Spain, Tarifa. Last year we bought a large 7 bed house in the centre of the old town to offer as accommodation to our kite students and are looking for people to come stay there and help us update it and make it look beautiful.
We have now done most of the main renovation and arty work now but we are always looking for people to help out with a little bit of work here and there.
Now, in February and March, we could use some help with general sprucing up of the place...painting, treating of a damp wall we are exposing in the living room, cleaning up the wrought iron balconies, painting and sealing the rooftop terrace, that sort of thing.
In the main season from Easter- end November each year we are looking for people to help us with the day to day running of the house:- cleaning rooms and communal areas, check-ins and outs, giving advice about places to go, and being social with the guests of an evening.
We would also love to have some original artwork on the walls, so anyone handy with a canvas and paint would be more than welcome! We are decorating in a shabby-chic- Moroccan style.
Tarifa is a fantastic little town, friendly, with a surfey vibe, incredible beaches and winter weather.
Help in the house
Helping with Tourists
This host offers accommodation and payment.
In return for your help we offer private room accommodation, basic breakfast supplies and a weekly allowance of 30€ / week for your food shopping. We often have BBQs at our own house for the kiteschool students which you are more than welcome it come to.
Its a lovely 7 bed house in the old town, which is the vibrant part of Tarifa. Two floors each with 3 bedrooms and a bathroom, a further room leading out to the roof terrace with wonderful castle views and across the straights to morocco (which is just 12 km away!) A kitchen and lounge on the ground floor.
Tarifa is full of activities..there is kitesurfing of course, which we can help you with, mountain biking, horse riding, yoga, diving, and lots more.
In the winter a lot of the town closes down, but a lot still remains open to the locals ( a mix of Spanish, French, Italian, Germans...all nationalities really!) and it is easy to meet and make friends, and just hang out in some of the many bars, and clubs chatting to people as they come and go.
