  Description

  My name is Daniel, and I run a non-profit organization that I founded with a few friends who share the same values ​​of commitment and solidarity. Our organization was created in 2012 and is based in Lomé. We primarily work in the areas of education, health, and the environment. We carry out various initiatives to support communities, including socio-cultural and educational activities for children, academic support, teaching, awareness campaigns about STIs/HIV-AIDS, as well as reforestation and environmental protection projects. Our team is made up of people with diverse backgrounds, including students, teachers, and healthcare professionals, who dedicate their skills and time to our work.
  
  We also have a health center dedicated to improving access to medical care, particularly for vulnerable populations. Furthermore, we partner with several schools, where we provide academic support and educational guidance to children from disadvantaged backgrounds.
  
  We also welcome volunteers who want a different kind of travel experience: a unique way to travel, a way to make a difference, a chance to discover a community, a hands-on approach to local projects, and the opportunity to share their knowledge and experiences with local communities and our team members. Through these various initiatives, our goal is to foster solidarity, exchange, the sharing of experiences, and the active participation of everyone in community development.
  
  
  
  Je m’appelle Daniel et je dirige une association à but non lucratif que j’ai créée avec quelques amis partageant les mêmes valeurs d’engagement et de solidarité. Notre association est crée en 2012 et a son siège à Lomé . Elle intervient principalement dans les domaines de l’éducation, de la santé et de l’environnement. Nous menons diverses actions en faveur des communautés, notamment des activités socioculturelles et éducatives auprès des enfants, le soutien scolaire, l’enseignement, la sensibilisation sur les IST/VIH-SIDA, ainsi que des activités de reboisement et de protection de l’environnement. Notre équipe est composée de personnes aux profils variés, notamment des étudiants, des enseignants et des professionnels de santé, qui mettent leurs compétences et leur disponibilité au service de nos actions.
  
  Nous disposons également d’un centre de santé destiné à contribuer à l’amélioration de l’accès aux soins médicaux, particulièrement pour les populations vulnérables. Par ailleurs, nous travaillons en partenariat avec plusieurs établissements scolaires, au sein desquels nous intervenons auprès d’enfants issus de milieux défavorisés dans le cadre d’activités de soutien scolaire et d’accompagnement éducatif.
  
  Nous accueillons également des volontaires qui souhaitent vivre une expérience différente du voyage traditionnel : voyager autrement, se rendre utile, découvrir une communauté, participer concrètement à des projets locaux et partager leurs connaissances et leurs expériences avec les populations et les membres de notre équipe. À travers ces différentes actions, notre objectif est de favoriser la solidarité, l’échange, le partage d’expériences et la participation de chacun au développement des communautés.

  Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

  Togo is undeniably a welcoming country with cultural diversity. During their missions, volunteers will be accompanied to discover Togo by truly immersing themselves in the social and cultural life of the country. Volunteers will therefore have the opportunity to discover the country's different traditional cuisines, dances and music, languages, history, etc. Cultural exchange is strongly encouraged. Volunteers are therefore encouraged to share their own knowledge with the locals.
  
  
  Le Togo est indéniablement un pays d'accueil et de diversité culturelle. Les volontaires durant leurs missions seront accompagnés pour découvrir le Togo en s'imprégnant véritablement dans la vie sociale et culturelle du pays. Les volontaires profiteront donc pour découvrir les différentes cuisines traditionneles, les danses et les musiques traditionneles,les langues, l'histoire du pays etc. L'échange culturel est vivement souhaité. Du coup, les volontaires sont appelés à partager avec les locaux les connaissances de chez eux.

  Help

  Volunteers are needed to provide educational and cultural activities for children. During the mission, which takes place in Lomé and throughout the year, the volunteer will be assigned to a school where they will assist a preschool teacher. Our local members will also be available to support them and facilitate their integration and the smooth running of activities. The volunteer will help with primary and secondary school students through various educational and recreational activities, including:
  
  - introduction to English and French;
  - sports and physical activities;
  - reading and writing;
  - recitations, drawing, and creative activities;
  - songwriting and learning.
  
  Outside of school activities, the volunteer may also help with children aged 4 to 12. With the support of local members, they will lead various fun and educational activities, including:
  
  - dance and cultural activities;
  - educational games;
  - Question and answer sessions, riddles;
  - Help with homework and school exercises.
  
  This part of the mission allows the volunteer to share their knowledge, culture, and skills with the children, while fostering intercultural exchange. Activities take place Monday through Friday, for 5 hours a day. Weekends are dedicated to rest and relaxation.
  
  
  
  Les volontaires sont sollicités dans le cadre d’enseignement et d’animation culturelle auprès des enfants. Durant la mission qui se déroule à Lomé et tout long de l'année, le volontaire sera affecté à un établissement où il assistera une éducatrice de maternelle. Nos membres locaux seront également disponibles pour l’accompagner et faciliter son intégration et le bon déroulement des activités. Le volontaire travaillera auprès des élèves de l'école primaire ou du collège à travers différentes activités éducatives et récréatives, notamment :
  - l’initiation à l’anglais et au français ;
  - le sport et les activités physiques ;
  - la lecture et l’écriture ;
  - les récitations , le dessin et les activités créatives ;
  - la conception et l’apprentissage de chansons.
  
  En dehors des activités scolaires, le volontaire pourra également intervenir auprès d’enfants âgés de 4 à 12 ans. Il animera, avec l’appui des membres locaux, différentes activités ludiques et éducatives, notamment :
  - les danses et activités culturelles ;
  - les jeux éducatifs ;
  - les questions-réponses, les devinettes ;
  - l’aide aux devoirs et aux exercices scolaires.
  Cette partie de la mission permet au volontaire de partager ses connaissances, sa culture et ses compétences avec les enfants, tout en favorisant les échanges interculturels.
  Les activités se déroulent du lundi au vendredi, à raison de 5 heures par jour. Les week-ends sont consacrés au repos, à la détente.

  Accommodation

  The accommodation consists of rooms measuring 12, 16 to 20 m² that can accommodate 2 to 3 people. There are also single rooms. The beds have single or spring mattresses and are covered with mosquito nets to keep out mosquitoes and gnats. The rooms have ceilings, ventilation, and there is a kitchen and internal or external toilets. There is also a veranda and courtyard where you can enjoy the fresh air and relax.
  
  
  Le logement se compose des chambres de 12, 16 à 20 m² pouvant contenir de 2 à 3 personnes. Il y a aussi des chambres individuels. Les lits sont dotés de matelas simples ou à ressort et sont couverts de moutisquaires pour éviter les moustiques et des moucherons. Les chambres sont plafonnées,ventilées et il y a la cuisine, les toilletes internes ou externes. Il existe également la véranda et la cour pour prendre l'air ambiant et se détendre.

  During their days off, Warkaywayers will have the opportunity to discover the natural beauty of the country, such as waterfalls, rivers, lakes and mountains. They will also have the chance to visit tourist sites and discover the cultural reality of the country. During their free time, volunteers can go for walks, watch a football match, go swimming, etc. Dynamic young men and women will be available to accompany them. A variety of meals will be offered, taking into account their preferences. Transport will be provided by car and motorbike. A health professional will be in constant contact with them to ensure their good health throughout their stay.
  
  
  Les warkaywayers pendant les jours de repos seront amenés à découvrir la beauté naturelle du pays comme les cascades, fleuves, lacs, montagne . Ils auront l'occasion aussi de visiter les sites touristiques, découvrir la réalité culturelle du pays. Durant les temps libres, les volontaires peuvent faire des promenades, aller regader un match de football, faire la natation etc. Sur ce, ils seront mis à leurs dispositions des jeunes filles et garçons dynamiques pour les accompagner. Différents repas leurs seront offerts en tenant compte de leurs désirs. Les moyens de transport sont la voiture et les motos. Un professionnel de santé sera en contact permanent avec eux pour assurer leurs bonnes santé durant tout le séjour.
