This will be only for 5 - 19 October 2025.

Hi there,
Recently i bought a beautiful old stone house in South Pilion, Greece, and i'm looking for some helping hands to make it into a little off grid eco paradise. Initially the work will be mainly moving out furniture and cleaning the house and also some gardening.
After that the priority will be renovation and building, but that will take some time, probably not before 2026.
Atm i am only going to need some helping hands with moving some furniture, cleaning up the house and gardening.
Eventually i'd like to create a little self sustainable place there, with veggie garden, outdoor kitchen, rainwater system and many more ecologically responsible features.
The house is located in the village of Promyri (check photos) and the nature in the area is amazingly beautiful for hiking, swimming in the sea, cycling and so much more.
The village has a great place to eat, and the villagers are very kind. Argalastí is a bit bigger and it's about 20 minutes drive by car. It has more cafés, restaurants and stores.
The biggest city in the area is Volos, it's a cool university town with lots of stuff to do, and you can find anything you might need there. It's a 1h20minutes drive by car.
I like to have a human approach and i would never treat people like workforce robots. If we can build a mutual respect and trust, that will be the best thing. I appreciate hard workers and will not stand for freeloading!
Most likely we will work around 6 hours per day, but definitely not every day!
Everything will always be in a slow (Greek) pace, and within our boundaries. Everything can be discussed :)
What i am looking for:
People who are: adventourous, creative, not afraid to get dirty, can communicate well, and preferably people with a car (but obviously that is NOT mandatory!)
Because i don't own a car, if you come with a car that would be very convenient. It'd be greatly appreciated if we can use the car for transport. Of course i will then pay for the cost of fuel.
You'll have your own room, you just need to bring a sleeping bag as i don't have much stuff in the house yet. Please keep in mind that for sleeping arrangments, there will only be a matrass on the floor. There is also a possibility to camp outside. In october this will probably still be comfortable.
I'll make sure there will be breakfast and dinner for us to cook and eat together.
For any questions, feel free to contact me.
If you have any particular skills in stonemasoning, carpentry, renovating in general, landscaping or any building skills at all. Please mention them in your message, as they might be very usefull in the future.

The cultural exchange will be abundant with me! I have travelled quite a bit and i am very used to HospEx through websites like BeWelcome, Trustroots and Couchers. I used to be a long time member in the good old days of Couchsurfing until that went commercial.
Dutch is my mother tongue and i speak fluent English, also some reasonable German and French. I am learning Greek myself, so Greek speakers are of course welcome :)
In general, i am always curious about other people and their experiences.
I love to teach & learn other cultures.
Besides language exchange and travel stories, i could teach you: Rollerblading, graffiti and painting, beatboxing, biological gardening, a lot about cinema, and more ....Help
Moving furniture and other old stuff, cleaning up, landscaping like clearing high grass and maintaining trees.

A Room with not much in it but a mattress. In an empty house with basic utilities.
Everything you need is available, except luxury ;)
Camping outdoors in the yard is also possible btw. What else ...
Besides the work that needs to be done, i will happily show you around in the area if you feel like it. I'm very adapt to hospitality exchange, as i have been a member of several HospEx platforms for almost 20 years.
So you can feel completely at home and be yourself at any time.
We can go cycling, hiking, check out local culture in the villages, or just relax in a hammock at the house. All good :)A little more information
