We operate in Githurai community and the rural areas on western part of Kenya. Both of these communities are under developed due to high rate of poverty, illiteracy, shrewd African culture and unemployment. Due to these challenges faced by the local people, we as a community based organization have researched & engaged the locals to develop 3 programs to address the above challenges. Our programs are nurturing, entrepreneurship and mtaa yangu “my community”.

Nurturing program aims to support local vulnerable children to access and excel in universal education. Annually over 1500 local vulnerable children are being supported through Reproductive & development Health Project which provides sanitary pads & mentorship to girls on monthly basis, Back to School Project which provides school uniform, shoes & scholastic materials to vulnerable kids, Inuka Scholarship Fund Project which provides secondary scholarship to needy but bright students and Art Appreciation Project which equips kids with drawing & painting talents/skills. Under this program volunteers are needed to assist with facilitating mentorship sessions, fundraising, data collection & analyzing, making videos & taking photos, teaching kids on artistic skills as well as assisting to market their artworks.

Entrepreneurship program equip local vulnerable youths and women with business and vocational skills then successfully trainees are supported to start own business or secure employment. Annually over 500 local vulnerable young people and women are supported through Skills Training Project which equips them with business, life skills, basic computer use and tailoring. Inuka Micro-start project which provides non-collateral micro-loans to local young people & women to boost or start their own business. Under this program volunteers are needed to assist with basic computer use training, field visits, data collection & analyzing, updating loan records, facilitating business training, fundraising and taking videos & photos.

Mtaa yangu “my community” program aims to sensitize & educate local young people on issues affecting them as well as whole community. Annually over 5000 local young people are involved through annual events, seminar & conferences. Under this program volunteers are needed to assist in facilitation, fundraising, taking photos & videos.
