    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

All volunteers will be provided with cultural awareness training from community leaders and trained teachers and artists. Volunteers will benefit from real mutual social learning, living, working and socializing with the community and these incredible resilient children. They will have intimate experience of the local cultural, customs, and wildlife of Sri Lanka, and will take part in active projects to share alternative ideas and culture with the children and staff. We provide a unique opportunity to experience the North and East of Sri Lanka. There is travel and exchanges between various locations in Sri Lanka. There will also be time for independent travel, which we will provide support for.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

Locations are Batticaloa, the Hill Country, and Northern Province (Jaffna and Mullaitivu), in areas that other volunteering opportunities are unable to offer. There is an incredible amount to see and do throughout the areas and we will help volunteers to see and experience this in a really unique way. We will provide the necessary equipment, clothing, supplies and facilitities for volunteers to teach/lead their activitiy. The program coordinators are passionate and experienced professionals and teachers. This is an incredible opportunity to undertake real mutual social learning with some incredible young people, in an accessible and secure, but post-conflict and post-disaster environment.
