    Description

Hello! We are a small family living in Umbria, right on the border with Tuscany, in Prato Santa Maria Tiberina.

It's me, Nico, 18, my mother Michela, and Priscila, our sweet dog 🐶.

We live surrounded by nature and have a small family project tied to our land. We care for our olive and chestnut trees, following the rhythms of the seasons and taking care of the various tasks that a house and land in the countryside require.

We'd love to share this place with curious people who want to have an authentic Italian experience, connect with nature, and help us with our daily chores.

Depending on the season, the help may involve harvesting and caring for the olives, chestnuts, maintaining the land, and doing small tasks around the house. We don't necessarily need someone with experience: what's important to us is a desire to learn, reliability, and a spirit of collaboration.

In return, we're happy to show you our area, share our daily life with those who visit us, and create a simple, family-friendly atmosphere.

We're in a very quiet area, yet also interesting for those who want to discover Umbria and nearby Tuscany, with its many small villages, nature, and places to explore.

For us, Workaway isn't just a work exchange, but a way to meet people from all over the world, share experiences, and learn from each other.

If you enjoy country life, being surrounded by nature, and living a simple, authentic lifestyle for a while, we'd love to meet you! 🌿

Ciao!

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

For us, hosting a Workawayer means, above all, sharing our daily lives and getting to know people from different countries and cultures.

We enjoy eating together, cooking, talking, sharing our traditions, and spending time together. Those who come to us will experience a simple, rural Italian lifestyle, learn about our cuisine and traditions, and discover the small villages and characteristic places of Umbria and nearby Tuscany.

We're happy to share our knowledge of country life, gardening, olives, chestnuts, and other agricultural work. We can also teach some small crafts and DIY projects, based on our knowledge.

At the same time, we're very curious to learn from our guests. We'd love to learn about their cultures, their way of life, their traditions, their cuisine, their music, and their experiences. We believe that each person can bring something new to our family.

We'd therefore like to create a true exchange: not just us teaching those who come, but all of us learning from each other. For us, the best thing about Workaway is the opportunity to meet different people, share simple moments, and return home with new memories and new friendships. ❤️

  • Help

    Help

The type of help we need 🌿

The help we seek changes based on the season and current needs. Living in the countryside, there are always small jobs to do, and we like to involve Workawayers in the daily life of our home and land.

During October and November, we especially need help with seasonal farm tasks, such as:

    🍇 Grape harvest

    🫒 Olive harvest

    🌰 Chestnut harvest

    🌳 Woodland clearing and tidying

🍂 Leaf, branch, and firewood collection

    🧹 General landscaping

During the summer, we focus primarily on the vegetable garden, plant care, and property maintenance.

There are also various small DIY and landscaping projects, depending on the needs: painting, fixing fences, small masonry tasks, maintenance, gardening, and other practical tasks.

You don't have to know how to do everything! If you have experience with manual labor or DIY, it would certainly be helpful, but we're also happy to teach and work together. The important thing for us is a desire to do things, learn, and connect with nature. 🌱

All the products and food we produce are intended solely for our personal consumption. Workawayers will not be involved in any activity related to the production, harvesting, preparation, or sale of products intended for commercialization.

    🍇 raccolta dell'uva

    Accommodation 🏡

Volunteers will stay in a detached house, separate from our home and located on another property.

The house has three bedrooms, one bathroom, a kitchen, and a washing machine available for guest use.

Volunteers will therefore have their own space and plenty of privacy, and will also be able to live independently in the house, without having to constantly share space with our family.

Of course, we will always be available and in touch for any needs or to share moments together.

It's a simple and peaceful solution, suitable for those who want to experience the countryside, have their own space, and at the same time get to know our family and the local area.

We are happy to prepare the meals, cooking according to your tastes and dietary preferences. If you prefer to cook yourself, that’s absolutely fine too! We can buy the ingredients you need and adapt completely to your routines and preferences.
