Description
Hello, we are Cyril and Solène, we are 29 years old and have just bought a house on 3 hectares in southwest France: in Cuzorn 47500, France.
We live with our dog Banksy, a very cute Australian Shepherd/Border Collie mix.
The house sits on 3 hectares of land, with two-thirds forest and one-third arable land. Located near the Périgord region, it's a very wooded and quite wild area, just a few kilometers from a former industrial town that has preserved its punk and live music scene, all surrounded by medieval cultural heritage (fortified towns and a castle).
Solène works as a coordinator at a cultural café, a project we initiated with other residents. The Descaratz cultural café is located in Monflanquin (20 minutes by car).
Cyril is a self-employed landscaping and grounds maintenance contractor. He manages his time as he sees fit but occasionally takes on projects.
We have two main projects:
The house is currently being renovated. It's a 1970s house that needs a complete overhaul.
We are developing a micro-farm using agroforestry: we want to grow our own vegetables with the aim of achieving self-sufficiency in both produce and fruit. A larger project would involve processing our produce into a vegan spread.
We also want to have a chicken coop.
Volunteering with Workaway is not work but volunteering; the tasks offered are not related to a professional activity. The daily tasks offered will be part of a support approach to our own daily tasks. We truly want to provide the volunteer with the best possible experience. We will discuss what the volunteer really wants to do and learn and will find tasks that align with their values and interests.
We have several outbuildings on the property. We want to renovate them to create small studios to accommodate more people.

We've both traveled and volunteered in various alternative settings. While several reasons have led us to buy a detached house, we appreciate the benefits of communal living.
We are welcoming people and will do everything we can to kindly meet your needs throughout your stay.
We're asking volunteers to help us for 4 to 5 hours a day, up to a maximum of 5 days a week. Your time can be arranged on a weekly basis, with regular meetings to discuss upcoming priorities.
For now, we've temporarily furnished a few rooms in the house to stay warm and dry this winter. One room is still available for a volunteer. Alternatively, there are two caravans in good condition that can be heated if needed.

Bonjour, nous sommes Cyril & Solène, nous avons 29 ans et venons d'acheter une maison sur 3ha dans le sud ouest de la France : à Cuzorn 47500, France.
Nous vivons avec notre chien Banksy, un berger australien/border colley très mignon.
La maison est située sur 3 hectares de terrain, avec 2/3 de forêt 1/3 de champ à cultiver. A deux pas du Périgord, c'est une zone très boisée et assez sauvage, située à quelques km d'une ancienne ville ouvrière qui as su conserver sa culture punk livemusic, le tout entourée d'un patrimoine culturel médiéval (bastides & château).
Solène travaille dans un café culturel en tant que coordinatrice, c'est un projet que nous avons impulser avec d'autres habitants. Le café culturel Descaratz est situé à Monflanquin (20min en voiture).
Cyril est auto-entrepreneur dans l'espace vert et le paysagisme, il gère son temps comme il le souhaite mais doit assurer des chantiers de temps en temps.
Nous avons 2 projets principaux :
La maison est en cours de rénovation. C'est une maison des années 70 qui doit être rafraichie de fond en comble.
Nous développement une micro ferme en agroforesterie : nous souhaitons cultivez nos légumes en vue d'une autonomie légumières et fruitières. Un projet plus grand consisterait à faire de la transformation sous forme de tartinade vegan.
Nous souhaitons également avoir poulailler.
Le volontariat a Workaway n'est pas un travail mais du volontariat, les tâches proposés ne sont pas lié a une activité professionnelle. Les tâches proposer au quotidien s'inscriveront en une démarche de soutien dans nos tâches quotidiennes. Nous souhaitons réellement apporter au volontaire la meilleure expérience possible, nous échangerons sur ce que le volontaire souhaite réellement faire et apprendre et allons trouver des tâches en adéquation avec ces valeurs et ces envies.
Nous avons plusieurs dépendances sur le terrain. Nous voulons les réhabiliter pour créer des petits studios en vue d'accueillir plus de personnes.

Nous avons tous les deux voyagé et eu des expériences en tant que volontaire dans des endroits variés et alternatifs. Bien que plusieurs raisons aujourd'hui, nous ont poussé à acheter une maison individuelle, nous sommes sensibles à un mode de vie en collectif.
Nous sommes des personnes accueillantes, nous mettrons tout en œuvre pour répondre de manière bienveillante à vos besoins tout au long de votre séjour.
Nous proposons aux volontaires de nous aider 4 à 5 h / jour et max 5 jours/semaine.
Votre temps pourra être organisé semaine par semaine, avec un temps d'échange commun afin de discuter des priorités a venir.
Pour le moment, nous avons aménagé temporairement quelques pièces de la maison, afin d'être au chaud et au sec cet hiver. Une chambre est encore disponible pour un volontaire. Sinon il y a deux caravanes en bon état qui peuvent etre chauffée aux besoins.
