Welcome to Our Dream in the Clouds (literally) – The Ligurian Alps Await You!

Hey there, adventurous souls and kindred spirits! Meet the dream team: Annamaria, Peter, and Émile. Nestled in the breathtaking Ligurian Alps, we've embarked on a journey that some might call ambitious, and others downright whimsical: reviving an old priest's house in a village so charmingly abandoned, you'd think it was waiting just for us (and now you!).

    Our Quest:
Once upon a time, this house was the beating heart of the village, a place of gathering, laughter, and stories. Our dream? To bring back that heartbeat, stronger and more vibrant than ever. We're not just renovating walls and ceilings; we're resurrecting a community, brick by brick, laugh by laugh. We aim to tread lightly on the earth, living as eco-friendly and self-sustainably as possible, with our hands in the soil and our hearts in the clouds.

Why You Might Want to Join Us:
    - If you've ever fantasized about swapping the rat race for the mountain pace, this is your sign.
    - If the idea of breathing life back into an ancient village while learning to live in harmony with nature sparks a little fire in your soul, we might just be your kind of people.
    - If you're skilled with a hammer, a paintbrush, or a dream, there's a place for you here.

    What's in It for You:
Besides the obvious (stunning views, fresh air, and our delightful company), you'll get a real taste of living with nature, not just in it. From eco-building techniques and permaculture projects to the simple joy of harvesting your dinner from our garden, it's about as hands-on as it gets. And let's not forget the endless pasta, because what's an Italian adventure without it?

    Who We're Looking For:
Hearts brave enough to believe in a dream and hands willing to get dirty making it a reality. Whether you're a master builder, a green-thumb gardener, or just someone who loves the idea of community and sustainability as much as we do, there's a place for you here. Bonus points if you're good at telling stories or can tolerate Annamaria and Emile’s sense of humour.

    Join Our Adventure:
So, if you're looking for an adventure that's a little off the beaten path, and you believe that the best stories are found between the pages of a passport and the walls of a house that's seen centuries pass by, we can't wait to meet you. Together, let's make some dreams come true and maybe, just maybe, leave the world a little better than we found it.

Can't wait to welcome you to our slice of paradise (work gloves and all),

You can learn about traditional and eco building technics, how to use local sources and recycle building materials. Peter is a sculptor with building experiences and with knowledge how to build with a low budget. The art studio he built in the UK you could see in George Clarke's show Amazing Spaces - Shed of the year 2016( series3, part 4) on All4 Demand (Chanel4).
The last year we grew first vegetable in our garden and we are planning to do it again this year. We would like to go permaculture way of growing and we will test different ways of irrigation to minimize the amount of water needed for growing plants in Ligurian environment.
Enjoy Italian and eastern europian food or even learn how to prepare it and meanwhile we can tell you how was the life in totalitarian Czechoslovakia. We found that young volunteers like this subject and we have responsibility to tell you what privilege is to live in democracy.
You will experience simple life in a very small village surrounded by beautiful forest, mountains and rivers but only 15 mins drive from the town and 30 mins from the seaside.

This is update for activities in the year 2023.
This year we are looking for someone who will take care for the vegetable in our garden. We have some knowledge about permaculture but we will be happy and appreciated if somebody more experienced in permaculture join us.

In June we will focus on finishing the clay plaster we started last year in one of the room inside the house. We use a clay from the local source by the village so we dig it first and then move the clay in to the garden where we sift it and mix it with water to make clay plaster. We show you how to work with the clay plaster on the wall. It's easy and also funny and satisfying.
In the bathroom we are planning to do Tadelakt on the wall in the shower corner. Tadelakt is traditional waterproof, lime-based decorative plaster indigenous to the Marrakech region of Morocco.
Cooking is very important part of activities. We are happy to teach you if you don't have experience but we will appreciate if you bring and share your skills and recipes with us. We always have a good atmosphere in the open kitchen in the courtyard. Hope you enjoy it too this year ;-)
