    Description

    Hi lovely people - Namaste 🌞🙏 🌱🌷🌚🌻🌼

We are, a 🌲ree hugger and a dreamer family who wants to build a farm retreat for lovely visitors from around the world. We live here with our lovely two dogs -Leo, and Coco

OUR LOCATION: We are located near an ancient town called Tansen. The town lies nearly 300 KMS west from the capital city- Kathmandu and nearly 4 -5 hours away from the touristy city -Pokhara. We are a couple of hours driving distance from Lumbini- the birthplace of Lord Buddha.

TANSEN-THE HISTORIC TOWN: This s☀️nny hill station is a hidden treasure for international and internal tourists, especially those seeking to indulge with nature and the core of Nepali culture. You get to see ancient houses, temples and the ethnic diversity around the town, while exploring the unique food this hill station has to offer. It's also a great hiking paradise. You get a chance to explore the unexplored here.

GETTING HERE: Getting here is relatively easy, an overnight bus bus from Kathmandu will drop you early morning or there are day buses from Kathmandu or Pokhara too. Please be prepared for a bumpy exciting journey wherever you go in this country..hahaha. It's around 5 minutes walk from the drop off point (Bartung). The close amenities are shops, hospitals, police station, schools and colleges. Everything is almost within walking distance, so we prefer muscle power here to move around.

Exchange: We provide three simple meals and free accommodation in exchange for your valuable contribution.

WHAT TO BRING: We recommend our lovely family members to bring in your personal essentials including toilet rolls, food (you can choose to eat with us at minimum rates too), water purifiers ( though there is a UV filter installed too), sleeping bags (optional), 🦟 repellants, and anything else you feel is an absolute necessity.

    "atithi devo bhawa"
    translates to "guests are god"
We with our open heart would like to welcome you to Nepal, a Himalayan hospitality paradise where every Nepalese holds the value to treat their guests as God.

We look forward to welcoming you to our family!

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

This place is a natural paradise and the hub for some historical and cultural origins including the Nepali national hat - 'Dhaka topi' and brass pitchers 'karuwa'. Traditional agriculture, street festivals, weekly street markets and so forth are the major attractions for our visitors.

The widest Annapurna Himalayan range can be viewed from the top of the hill; the bottom is a green valley called Madi. The south face of the hill (Tansen) was inhabited by our ancestors, who also built some palaces, temples, wooden and stone handicrafts and most importantly- the smiling community around.

We are three generations living together, and Saugat and Shivani will be welcoming you here along with me. You will be involved in a range of projects, either from the start or an ongoing initiative. Along with our trees, bees, bugs, birds and butterflies, we have a few chickens, ducks and guinea fowls now. Some turkey, pheasants, quails, bunnies, and fish are on their way to make the place more lively. We will focus on setting up the farm along with some plantation and garden designing, creating artwork in every possible form, and any other exciting additions (we love creating mini-forests ). We are happy to listen to and incorporate your ideas that align with our vision. If you choose to reach out, please share your area(s) of interest so that we can help plan and design a meaningful engagement space for you.

    Major jobs happening now are
    -interior design
    -art and crafts
    -construction
    -painting
    -farm tasks
    -weeding
    -social media
or anything you find self-rewarding. Proactive approach is always appreciated. It's the best place to release all your creative juice out and pat your inner self.

    What else ...

Hike around is beautiful and safe. The weather is amazing, not too sweaty, and not too shivering, mostly sunny ☀️☀️☀️ all year round. Ancient secret town Tansen is within a walking distance (20 minutes uphill). Plenty of culture, history, food, mountains 🗻, and various ethnic communities can be explored.
