    Description

    Hello,

We are Michèle and Julio, and we run a small rural guest house just 15 minutes from Girona, surrounded by nature. We welcome guests from all over the world in our eight comfortable suites and truly enjoy the sense of connection that comes with this way of life.

Breakfast is included in our guests’ stay and is prepared fresh every morning between 8am and 12pm. During this time, we are fully focused on looking after our guests, which is why we are looking for someone to help us with our two dogs, Baba and Piu, and with the preparation of meals for our family.

We are looking for one person — or preferably a couple — who enjoys being around dogs and would be happy to spend a few hours each day caring for them, as well as helping with simple, nourishing meals for us. During the busy season we often find ourselves eating leftovers and not taking the best care of ourselves, so this support would make a real difference to our daily lives.

In exchange, we offer accommodation and food, along with a genuine cultural and human exchange. We would love to build a warm, respectful relationship with the person or people who join us and share daily life here.

For accommodation, we can offer either an independent annex studio with its own bathroom, kitchen, wood-burning stove, Wi-Fi and garden, or a mobile home on the property. The mobile home includes two double bedrooms, a shared kitchen and lounge area, one full bathroom and an additional toilet.

We would need this help from the beginning of April at the latest, when our mid/high season begins and our days become much fuller — making it difficult for us to properly care for the dogs and for ourselves without support.

We very much look forward to hearing from you.

    Warm regards,
    Michèle and Julio

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Together we speak 5 languages and we can offer language (Spanish, Catalan, and/or English, French and German) and cultural exchange. Additionally, travellers could learn about the daily management of a rural hotel and, in their free time, discover Catalonia (Girona, Barcelona and the Costa Brava).

    Help

Take care of our two dogs, Baba and Piu, who are a Weimaraner and a Dalmatian. They are very good but intense. They need to go out in the morning to run along the river and through the fields, and then they need some company while we prepare breakfast.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

We have a 30m2 loft studio that can accommodate a couple in a double bed or a single person, with a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, bathroom, living room, fenced garden, wood-burning stove and washing machine, located next to the main farmhouse.

We will try to have some meals together but In the event that we are working and cannot share meals, the workawayers will have the possibility to prepare their own meals in the kitchen in the studio where they will be staying. We will ensure that they have all the necessary ingredients to prepare delicious meals and/or we will give them the money they need to do the shopping themselves.

    Piula (2 years)

Piula is a Dalmatian dog, somewhat calmer than Baba but also in need of exercise. She is 1½ years old and is very good and very affectionate. She is also very attached to us, and we would like her to get used to being with other people and not feel anxious if we are not there with her.

    Baba (6 years)

Baba is a Weimaraner, a hunting breed known for its intense nature. She is just over 5 years old and is very good-natured and affectionate. She is very attached to us because she has always been by our side, both in our leisure time and at work. We want her to get used to being with more people and not feel anxious if we are not with her. We need to keep her away when we are with customers, which is during breakfast time.
