About me:
Hi! My name is Julien, and I’m a second year civil engineering student from Lyon, France. This summer, I’m looking to spend about 10 weeks abroad to improve my English, experience a new culture, and meet new people.
I’m a curious person who enjoys learning new skills and adapting to different environments. Thanks to my studies in civil engineering and my passion for construction, building and architecture, I'm eager to contribute to your project in any way I can.
Why Workaway?
I see Workaway as a great opportunity to step out of my comfort zone, learn from different cultures, and share experiences with new people. I’m open-minded and eager to contribute to a team or family setting.
I hope to spend a good summer in the company of friendly people who are open to helping me discover their country :)

My Skills & Hobbies:
Construction & Architecture: I love everything around civil engineering makes me passionate about building, design, and hands-on work. During my studies, I had to work on several projects from renovating a house to environmental issues. I also had to lead two projects for my school, creating two student spaces, where I had to put my 3D modelling and teamwork skills into practice.
Last summer, I did a 5 week internship in the construction sector, during which I was involved in the paving of an 11,000 m² square.
Cars: I have a good knowledge of car mechanics and would love to be able to apply this knowledge and learn more by working on cars.
One of my hobbies is photography where I had several experiences:
I succeed to take pictures for a cinema festival in 2021, I took pictures for a festival where I was a volunteer for a charity event in 2022 and 2024. My experiences have enabled me to finish in 8th place during a photography competition where I my photo was exhibited in the street. And I love sharing my photos on my instagram account ! @pictures_julien
One of my passions is 3D modeling, I use Sketchup to reproduce buildings or create my own before rendering in 3d on D5render. Thanks to my studies, I also have a basic knowledge of Autocad for drawing plans. I'd be delighted to help you with your projects.
My curiosity and dedication have enabled me to be versatile enough to also have experience as a designer for an automotive company (2024-now).
