Brazilian Mum and Daughter Duo Ready to Work, Learn, and Explore the world 🌎

About Us:

Hi there! I’m Ingrid, and I’m thrilled to be starting this adventure with my 11-year-old daughter, Anita. I’ve always dreamed of travelling the world, but as a young mum, I thought it might not be possible—until I discovered Workaway! Now, Anita and I are excited to explore, learn, and help as best friends and travel companions.

I’m originally from Brazil, but I’ve lived in Europe for the past 13 years (6 and a half years in Portugal, and we currently live in London). By profession, I’m a Capoeira and dance teacher, and I love staying active, connecting with people, and sharing my culture. Anita is a bright, curious, and creative girl who loves arts, exploring, and meeting new friends. While she’s currently a bit afraid of dogs, Anita is excited about this trip and hopes to overcome her fears by spending time around them.

Although we live with Anita’s dad in London, this is a special mother-daughter adventure for just the two of us. We’re both passionate about cultural exchange and look forward to being part of your home and projects.

Portuguese is my native language, and I’m passionate about sharing it with others. While I’ve been living in Europe for many years, I still feel like I’m learning and improving my English every day. Although I don’t speak other languages fluently yet, I’ve always been fascinated by languages and love the idea of learning more while helping others practice Portuguese or English. Anita also speaks Portuguese, English (with the lovely British accent) and she is learning German.

Our Skills:
Me:
• Teaching Capoeira or Brazilian dance, (happy to lead classes or workshops).
• Clothing repairs and alterations using a sewing machine.
• Basic Photoshop skills for photo editing or creative projects.
• Proficient in using the Silhouette program for designing and printing stickers, mugs, and other personalized items.
• Extensive experience working with children, including those with special needs.
• Teaching Portuguese or helping with language practice.

Anita:
• Great with kids (playful, patient, and caring).
• Artistic and crafty—she enjoys dancing, play, and creating small projects.

Was noch ...

I feel incredibly lucky that my job is also my favorite hobby. I absolutely love practicing Capoeira—it’s more than just a martial art for me; it’s a way to connect with music, culture, and movement. Playing the instruments that accompany Capoeira, like the berimbau, is something I truly enjoy as well. Beyond that, I’m passionate about exploring new cultures, meeting people, and discovering new places. This journey is an amazing opportunity to combine all the things I love.
