If you want to meet someone who 6 years ago had a runaway bride, love, eat, pry moment... jumped on a plane to Canada and has been helping people round the world ever since, then keep reading.

I'm Charlotte, originally from the UK. I say originally as I left Norfolk (East of England) 6 years ago and headed out to Canada on a 2 year working holiday visa. I had the most amazing time in Canada and can't believe how quickly the time flew by. I mainly stayed on the West coast and experienced all weathers, including flooding, forest fires and frozen water pipes and that was just the first year!!

I've got stuck in with all sorts and managed to add to my skill set, just to mentioned a few:- I can now drive horse and cart, a bob cat (all other farming machinery), a smallsail boat (and other water sports), looked after live stock (from chickens to buffalo), gardening (in different countries and climates), built outbuildings (all still standing, im told), can teach english, servived the jungle - twice, variaty of fruit picking and looked after 19 puppies and 10 dogs in one go, the list goes on!! This it what I love about workaway, there is so much variety and so many people that appreciated your help and/or willingness to give it a good crack, so thank you to everyone so far. Canada is where my solo travelling journey really started but its evolved and grown... some catch a cold - I caught a bug, a travel bug... which means, I'm so privilege to meet people from different parts of the world, emerge into there way of life and help them with there daily lives or ongoing projects.

Host relationships:- im a big believer in balance. I really do like to help and want to get you closer to your goal, take the pressure off, engage, learn, interact and listen to your needs or dream's. Iv been fortunate, staying with many different hosts with diffrent needs and requirements (makes it more interesting for me), because of this, iv become a good communicator, I like communication. if you need some company, cool, need down time, great, want me to cook, no problem (I love to cook), if the kitchen is your domain, thats also cool (,I might ask to see what your cooking, as I love learning new dishes, if that's ok with you). I can adapt and accommodate to most situations. I do ask that I can also have down time, I like to have a 2 hour daily walk, great way to get to know the area and get in them steps. I love company with other , I also love my own company, so a balance of the two is perfect. I'm keen on a routine and set hours when possible, helps me structure my day better (i get more out of my day that way). I don't need to be entertained, atbthe same time happy to chat. I do like meals round the table, filled with conversation and story telling, I like to get to know you, if your open to that. I can work alone, with others, take instruction, happy to share ideas and knowledge too, I just need communication from you too, im pretty good with body language but im not a mind reader. Communication is key, keeps us all in sync.

I like to meditate, thanks to completing a 10 day Nobel silent retreat, this kindly open a new practice and gave me more clarity. It kick started a very personal spiritual journey for me... that was a real turning point!!

I am a hard worker and can work with others, am not afraid to take a task on by myself either, you can let me know what you would like me to do and leave me to it, give direction or do the task together.

As for my downtime, I do love walking, I like to put my head in a book rather then looking at the TV, swimming (need to get a new suit, note to self), listen to music and sing along, being with good people sharing stories and enjoy home cooking and baking.

I'm kind of a Jack of all trades - I have worked with horses (can ride English, western and carriage drive), can drive (stick) car, truck, tractor, quad, bob cat, have worked in hospitality from server to manager, been in sales, owned my own successful business, been a home owner, run my own home, understand how to keep a garden alive, even dug a BIG pond and done lots of other things in between.

Pets/ animals:- I've been around animals my whole life, if you have dogs, happy to take them out for walks, saying that, iv also walked cats, rabbits, ponies and more, so no discrimination here, all types of animal walking is available, hang on, maybe not donkey's - if you know, you know!! I guess, what im saying is, if you have pets/ animals that works for me, also if you don't, that works too, I love animals like I love people, im not dependent on either. Happy to pet sit, if you're wanting to get away for a few days, while im with you im happy to discuss and assist, they would be in safe hands.

I'm also good with children. I enjoy there company. Little ones - I love how creativity they are and how they are so interested in the world, maybe not so much when they try to put the world in there mouths!! I've change a few dippers when needed too. Also have a great time with teenagers, believe it or not, happy to have conversation, share cultural differences or do the silent thing, so being present for them, seen but not heard, you know that teenage world thing we all have to pass through. So, if you want a day out or night off from parenting, we can discuss it, as long as we are both comfortable with the arrangement, all im saying is, its a possibility.

Was noch ...

So I travel like a sloth, if we are a good fit I'd be happy to stay for a minimum of 4 weeks. I always like to do a one week trial first, that way, if its not a good fit, there's no explanation. If after the week we are both happy, illvstay the duration discussed, then im happy chat about a possible longer stay on a monthly rolling basis.

If we arrange a date for me to come stay with you, I will be coming. Iv met so many great host who have said about no shows or people who have just stopped communicating, it's just not my style. I follow though on my comments and if there is an issue or delay, its communicated to you.

I'm not into retails therapy and/or sight seeing the local attraction, its just not really my thing. I travel to meet the local, get to know your world as a local, not a tourist. So I'm after the everyday local experience.

I do love a sunrise, sunset, I think the moon is beautiful and sky full of stars is just the cherry on the cake.

I truely love my life, I love all the different twists and turns. I love a challenge and I have a positive attitude. I live in the present and am enjoying the ride of life.

  I like almost everything, just not pork, its not a religious thing, Im just not a fan of the taste. I would say, I sway more vegetarian. I do eat meat and I love fish. I'm also very happy to try new dishes.
