I had a wonderful experience staying with Giny. She was a great host, very approachable and easy going, as well as kind and caring, which made it very easy to settle in quickly. My main job was to take care of Ozzi, who is the most lovable and funny dog. We really bonded and became great friends, I truly enjoyed walking him through the forest every day. Other jobs included feeding the chinchillas, cleaning their house, and doing some gardening. I also had a lot of time to myself so I was able to work in the afternoons and explore the surrounding areas. The closest lake is stunning and I also enjoyed watching the sunset from time to time. I'd definitely recommend this workaway if you love animals and want to live a simple life for a little bit. It was a nice break for me from the fast pace of life and I'm very grateful to Giny for this experience.

Die Tiere wurden versorgt, die Pflanzen im Garten leider weniger. Bei 30 ° nur jeden 2.Tag zu gießen und das bei Sandboden ist viel zu wenig und entspricht auch nicht dem was ich als Aufgabe hier vorgegeben hatte. Viele Pflanzen sind komplett vertrocknet oder haben zumindest Trockenschäden, sowas müsste auch für jeden Gartenlaien erkennbar sein. Ich bin sehr enttäuscht, und würde Sophie meinen Garten nicht mehr anvertrauen. The animals were cared for, but unfortunately the plants in the garden were not. Watering only every other day at 30°C, especially with sandy soil, is far too little and does not correspond to what I had specified as the task here. Many plants have completely dried out or at least suffered damage from drought, which should be obvious even to anyone unfamiliar with gardening. I am very disappointed and would not entrust my garden to Sophie again.

We were most fortunate to have the privilige to meet with Rahel and having her as a workawayer at our farm. She is fun to be with and has the ability to see what needs to be done. She went into the tasks with joy. If you have the opportunity to make her acquaintance, go for it. We happily welcome her back to stay with us. And so feel our cats.

I spent three weeks with Tom, Sasha, and their three children, who are incredibly warm and welcoming. They are very polite and always made sure I felt comfortable. They often invited me to join them when visiting friends for dinner or when going into town to explore and check out some local shops, which I really appreciated. The place itself is wonderful—surrounded by nature with a huge garden where I sometimes played football with their son. During my stay, I helped out with gardening, painting, cleaning, and even a few plumbing tasks. The work was very diverse, which kept it interesting and never tiring. This was my first Workaway experience, and it’s definitely one I’ll never forget.

This listing got my attention from the pianos and promoted relaxed environment. When I arrived, the accommodations look like a house out of Hollywood, and the back of views are breathtaking - not even the picture can display what you will see. What I experienced, was the ability to think for myself and to empower myself. Manijeh and Jim are always open to listen and hear different viewpoints, perspectives, and engaged in deep conversation. They are both intellectuals and very much respect the concept of space. The work environment is very relaxed, and I could choose my own hours and work when I wanted. The food is the one of the best I've experienced as the fridge was always stocked with home-cooked food. Manijeh is an excellent cook! She expressed to me to eat as much as I wanted. Seconds or thirds. This was such a gift to me! I never felt hungry nor did I have to worry about food. The work I did was physically hard but that's expected and I enjoyed working in sun. I completed the task such as weeding the garden, cutting blackberry vines, weeding near the garage, weeding the back garden, cleaning the house, and learning how to plant cedar trees. I very much enjoyed working with both Manijeh and Jim as each contribute a different way to learn. Both have so much knowledge to share! The garden is very magical, and I enjoyed sitting in the soil and eating my lunch. The garden was full of kale which I got to eat wonderful kale salads for breakfast and dinner. Everything is in abundance here! Manijeh and Jim are very sharing with the garden. The environment is super relaxed and dinners are also relaxed to have conversations, to laugh, and to feel in the best spirits. This was the first place where my room had a beautiful desk so I could complete other work that needed to be done. This was another gift! This place has a lively community with amazing people around. The place is what you make it, and what you get out is what you put in. I am into energy healing, and I was able to progress very fast here. My room came with a yoga mat and I was able to engage in deep daily meditational practices and deep breath work. I was also able to overcome performance anxiety and playing the piano. Manijeh and Jim love music and expression of sound in all forms. They supported me in my musical progress. They both truly want the best for each person success in life. I'm very grateful that I got to experience Manijeh and Jim's place where my spirit was able to move forward, progress in my communication, and open my voice to speak in my truth. I had the honor of being Karolína’s first WorkAwayer on the farm, and I really enjoyed my stay. The host and the whole family were friendly and helped me with everything I needed. The property is quite large, with several interesting corners and even some pieces of artwork. On the farm you’ll meet chickens, geese, turkeys, sheep, goats, and also friendly dogs. The place is located in a small village in northern Bohemia, where nature is always close at hand. During my stay, I helped with work on the gazebo, some groundworks, and pruning fruit trees. I’d be happy to return in the future. Thanks for the invitation.

Jessica has consistently demonstrated exceptional dedication and reliability in her volunteer service. She not only follows the monastery’s guidelines with discipline and respect, but also approaches every assigned task with initiative and care—often going above and beyond what is asked. Her presence brings a sense of steadiness and support to the team, and her thoughtful contributions reflect a sincere commitment to the Dharma. We are always grateful for her efforts and wholeheartedly welcome her return to the monastery anytime.

Julia and Daniele were truly wonderful hosts – generous, kind, and welcoming from the very beginning. They created a warm and friendly atmosphere where I always felt comfortable and appreciated. The work was enjoyable and rewarding, and I also had plenty of time to relax and take in the beautiful surroundings. I honestly couldn’t have imagined a better Workaway experience, and I’m very grateful for the time I spent with them. I wholeheartedly recommend Julia and Daniele to any future Workawayers!

I am very glad that I had my first Workaway experience with Chris. Together with David, I stayed with him in Bullhead City for one month. From the very first moment, I felt Chris’s hospitality and his genuine willingness to make our stay an amazing one. He answered every question we had on a wide variety of topics in great detail, which really helped me gain a better insight into life in the United States. I truly enjoyed the different activities we did together, such as kayaking, shooting in the desert, visiting the Hoover Dam, and attending a football game. The highlight, however, was our unforgettable visit to the Grand Canyon. I am very grateful for this time and can only thank Chris for everything he did for us.

I first met Nikhil during one of his chanting sessions in Auroville, which was held at Serendipity Hall. Later, when I heard about his plans to create a Bhakti Yoga retreat, I felt inspired to work with him. I believe it will be a wonderful addition to Auroville and a beautiful opportunity for anyone who wishes to volunteer here.

Staying with Jelena and Thibaut was incredible! They are so welcoming and will make you feel at home. They pay a lot of attention to make you feel confortable and to your needs. It was my first time working in construction but with Thibaut's help and patience I learned a lot. The kids are the sweetest and playing with them was so much fun! Unfortunately there was a problem with the car but they were very accomodating and we could always find a solution to this and I was still able to make to most of my free time. I cannot recommend this experience enough and hopefully I'll be able to go back!

Antonio and Ania are two truly beautiful souls and I consider myself very lucky to have found them. They are incredibly kind and uplifting and were always more than happy to include me in both their community and the planning of future projects. Working in their garden, taking care of the plants, helping to preserve food in as many ways as we could think of and harvesting the fruits of our labour (and then eating them) was honestly so much fun. The area is beautiful, the people are kind and Ania and Anto were incredibly accomodating of my occasionally wacky schedule (I was looking for an apartment in my free time). Also spending my summer sleeping in a tent was both really nice in the heat and super nostalgic. All in all I spent 3 month here and it's turned my summer into a very fulfilling experience and I really can't recommend it enough! I wil definitely keep in touch.

We had a wonderful time with Wan and the ten days he stayed passed too fast! The first day he was already helping me with unloading the car from the market and collecting walnuts. I could count every day with his help and was happy to see that he was definitely not afraid to get his hands dirty! He is very polite and knows how to behave as a guest but also became fast a part of our big family. We hope to see him soon again and wish all the best for the studies and whatever life is presenting!

Michelle stayed with us for four nights and decided to continue her travels. Even though it was a very short time for us, we found that Michelle is a genuine, intelligent and friendly person who is easy to get along with. She made sure to come home earlier from the city on her last day just to spend some time with our older daughter , and it was very sweet of her to bring me some flowers. She cuddled the baby when she’s crying which I really appreciate. Not only did she help out around the house , she also gave some good accounting tips to our camera business. Thank you Michelle .

Laura is on a short trip to Australia and wants gain lots of experiences in a short time. She was ready and willing to learn and to do a variety of work during the week that she stayed with us. She also made sure that in her spare time, that it was used to do the things that are unique to the current opportunities. Laura approached each day and each new tasks with enthusiasm and care........ being careful that she was doing the tasks as requested. We wish Laura all the best with her continued travels in Australia and hope that she continues to develop that understanding and appreciation of herself in her interactions with life and with others. We would welcome Laura back when she happens to revisit this area sometime in the future.

Five stars without a doubt! Julio helped us in many ways: he prepared the garden beds for seasonal planting (including mixing the soil blend himself and installing frames to protect the crops from birds), cared for the trees and animals, monitored the composting process, did extensive work during the spring cleanup of the farm grounds, including mowing and collecting grass, and assisted us in restoring an old fireplace. He also helped with many daily routine tasks. He is open-minded, learns quickly, genuinely loves animals and nature, and is a very neat and responsible person. His calm, friendly, and remarkably mature demeanor deserves special mention. We can confidently recommend him to any host and have no doubt that he can be an excellent volunteer in any kind of project.

I only had the chance to spend one week with Bert and Ewen in Castalla, but what an amazing week it was!!! Bert is an incredibly welcoming and warm person and he made me feel very well cared for and relaxed during my stay. From cooking me delicious Spanish food, to taking the three of us on excursions to the beach and to his parents house/swimming pool and around town, there was always something fun to do! Ewen is a fun and curious boy with plenty of energy, we played many games and even built a tank out of cardboard and blankets in the living room! I also got to see Ewen show off his impressive tennis skills and look forwards to playing him in the future! Whilst I spoke in English for the time that Ewen was around, Bert also gave me a great opportunity to practice my Spanish with him, I also made a day trip to the beautiful city of Valencia. these experiences have been invaluable for me and I really feel like I have benefited from this exchange.I highly recommend Bert and Ewen as workaway hosts and I hope to see them again in the near future :)

We spent almost 3 weeks here. It was an amazing time and we felt very comfortable. During our visit, we worked about 5 hours a day from 8 am until 1 pm, with free weekends to visit the big cities Bordeaux and Toulouse (amazing!!). The tasks were varied, for example gardening/weeding and cleaning the guest rooms. After work, The host always cooked the most delicious meals for us, which is something we looked forward to every day. As well as the bag of croissants and other baked goods, he always gave us after lunch. In the afternoon and evening, we could always do what we wanted. We used the free time to explore the cities and villages nearby, and the family always had great tips and showed us the best places to visit. We felt very active and productive the whole stay and made a lot of great memories. The campervan was very comfy and we really felt at home. It's well furnished and equipped and we had everything we needed. Once a week, the host went shopping for us, so that we could cook our own dinner in the camper van. And we could also always steal some tomatoes and onions from their garden if we wanted to. The family is very friendly and kind people with a great sense of humour. They gave us a warm welcome from day one. Even though they both work very much and very hard, they always had time to exchange stories and laugh with us. With each day we felt more sad that we would have to leave. The two have built themselves an incredible and beautiful home and it's amazing how much they did on their own. But of course, with such a huge property, the work is never finished ;). We feel really lucky to have met you both and we hope we'll be able to visit you again some day! We wish you all the best!

Peace volunteered with us as a Workawayer for one week and was an outstanding, highly cheerful, motivated, and outgoing member of our self-sufficiency project. She primarily assisted with tasks related to our garden and Herbfarm operations. Her work included preparing garden beds and harvesting/processing herbs for our natural food supplements. She also provided excellent help with event preparation for a small party. Peace demonstrated a strong work ethic and a genuine interest in our operations, taking on every task with enthusiasm. She also shared her culture by preparing a delicious Nigerian specialty meal for us. Despite the short stay, she proved to be highly reliable and easy to communicate with. We wholeheartedly recommend Peace for future Workaway experiences. She will be a delight to any host.
