I’m taking the time to write this feedback now because things moved really fast in the past few weeks (only one month)and I’ve finally settled down for Christmas. I spent three weeks at Tanja and Robert's with two other volunteers, Djinn and Morteza, and not to forget Bellie, the lovely dog. What great encounters, which made these weeks at the Finca in arens de Lledo amazing. Every morning we went to the finca to take care of the animals: chickens, goats... We also set up a water access point and prepared the soil for upcoming plantings. It was such a pleasure to see Tanja and her horse galloping through the forest: a beautiful duo! :)) The finca is surrounded by abundant nature, making it a perfect place to recharge! Each of us had our own room in the village, and Tanja and Robert made sure we lacked nothing. We shared wonderful moments together, including some fun game nights: it was great. We had breakfast together from 8am, then went to the finca until 12:00 pm, followed by lunch and dinner at 6pm together. Tanja and Robert cooked amazing meals. So many culinary talents were showcased this week, whether by Tanja, Robert, Morteza, or Djinn: I enjoyed discovering the specialties. I also really enjoyed cooking for them and sharing my own favorite dishes. We also helped harvest olives at their friends' place: it was supercool! We had two electric bikes available, which were perfect for getting to the village and going for walks. In the afternoons, we went hiking with Djinn and Morteza: there are so many summits to reach and stunning views to enjoy! And all of this in great company, I'll always cherish these memories. Morteza and Djinn were wonderful people to meet, and I later visited Morteza in Sevilla, which was a real pleasure to reconnect! We also heard from Djinn. Yes, these are beautiful friendships that were formed at the heart of the Arrens de Lledo. Thank you, Tanja and Robert, for welcoming me to your place 🌞 I wish them both all the best! I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to recharge in the heart of the Catalan countryside, take care of animals, and enjoy great moments in good company! 🌞 Alicia

Mark and Kimberley are a super enthusiastic and dedicated couple! They have super high levels of energy and gave their uttermost in all projects they were involved in. Above and beyond the call of duty they signed up for a Compost/Biochar Workshop and volunteered to help make a Mexican meal for about 35 people at our local Café/Bar. Moreover, Mark wowed us all with his musical talents and gave two amazing concerts at the same venue. They fit into our community immediately and love connecting with and getting to know new people! Very curious and adventurous they are! As always, I'm super grateful when someone leaves the cabin in great condition, which was certainly the case with these two. Kim also amazed us with creating some photo albums online of our life and land. Memories we will treasure forever! Don't hesitate to invite this extraordinary couple to share life with you! I know you won't regret it!

It was a joy hosting Yuki for one and a half months. She is thoughtful, detail-oriented, a very good listener, and someone who genuinely goes the extra mile — often after saying a thoughtful “ettoo…” (which quickly became part of daily life in our house 😊). Yuki cooked really well, worked reliably in the garden and fields, and approached farm tasks with curiosity and care, even when they were new to her. She learns quickly and notices details that others often miss. She also connected beautifully with our daughter, showing patience, humour, and genuine interest — which says a lot about a person. By the end of her stay, she felt like part of the family rather than a guest. We would happily recommend Yuki to other hosts and would host her again without hesitation.

Our time with Cheryl was our first Workaway experience, which we definitely wouldn't want to have missed. Chez is a very experienced, impressive and at the same time lovable person whom we can warmly recommend. During our week in her paradise home, we worked together to tidy up parts of her garden and then planted new flowers. We would particularly like to highlight her hospitality, the excellent food and the numerous tips and recommendations in and around Port Macquarie. We wish you all the best for the future, Chez, and when you next visit Germany, we will welcome you just as warmly into our home!

Claire and Cy helped me for a few days, mostly with some cob work on a building project, and collecting hay. Their communication was clear, and arrived on time, but left a bit suddenly and early. Anyway, I think we had a good time together.

It was such a pleasure hosting Anaïs. She is a lovely young woman and so much fun to have around. She was amazing with our son, hard-working, responsible, and adventurous. Anaïs did an outstanding job cleaning our house, taking initiative and completing every task to a very high standard. She worked diligently in our gardens, tackling every last pesky weed and taking real pride in her work. Victoria thoroughly enjoyed working alongside her in the food forest, going on adventures, and showing her around the Far North. We highly recommend Anaïs to any future hosts and miss her already!

I had a wonderful time here!! I left today and already miss it... Kathy and Ged are incredibly nice and funny. They are super understanding and help wherever they can, whether it's tips for good travel destinations or picking you up and dropping you off at the village. The work is very well structured, so you quickly get into the rhythm of farm life. The stable is surrounded by beautiful countryside, so I was able to go on great hikes on my days off (just stick to the paths that Google Maps suggests, otherwise you can easily get lost... hahaha). You can also go to the village during your breaks or on your days off and check out the various little shops. Be sure to visit the donut shop! I loved playing with Dusty, Rosie, and George and throwing lots and lots of balls. It's really nice to go for walks with Dusty and explore the area together. Another huge plus is that you're never alone. There are always other Workawayers here with you. I enjoyed so many fun evenings, work shifts, and all the time in between with the other girls, whether it was painting, playing cards, movie nights, or just fooling around together. Unfortunately, I only stayed with Kathy and Ged for two weeks, but I would definitely come back again!

I volunteered for almost 2 months in feb and march of 2025. I had a great time meeting different people and building community with them. There are always people around if you need a chat or someone to go explore with. I did content creation work for the hostel and tried to capture the essence of community I found there. There were multiple other volunteers over the course of my stay and collaborating with them was a great experience. The hosts are amazing people with whom you can pick up a conversation at any time. I learnt a lot about what it takes to run a hostel and how to curate the energy brought into it.

We spent two wonderful weeks with Helen, her friendly dog and her other animals. Helen is a wonderful host and we are very happy that this was our first workaway experience, she told us a lot of fun stories from her previous workaway experiences that made us feel very comfortable. She cooked for us and took us sightseeing in the surrounding area. The tasks she gave us were very manageable and she made sure we never worked more than we had to. All in all we had a great time that we will fondly remember.

Our time with Anja, Alberto and Pipo was truly wonderful and very enriching. From the very first moment, we felt very welcome and at home. Living together was always harmonious, respectful and pleasant (just like with our own family). It was particularly comfortable that we had our own area where we could relax and be ourselves. This area consisted of a cosy bedroom, our own bathroom and a small kitchen area, which gave us a lot of privacy and comfort. Our tasks were very varied and ranged from gardening and housework to walking Pipo, refurbishing furniture and other tasks. We particularly appreciated the flexible working hours and tasks, which were always arranged in a relaxed and very fair manner. We also loved the Central Coast area. There are many beautiful places to discover, whether hiking in Bouddi National Park or visiting the numerous and varied beaches nearby. In summary, we really enjoyed living with Anja, Alberto and Pipo and can wholeheartedly recommend staying with them. We already miss them and will definitely be back! We arrived as strangers and left as friends – thank you for everything!

Staying with Anne-Marie and Struan was great! They are both very warm-hearted, kind and lovely. We stayed at their home for one week and did some gardening (like weeding and painting). The location is also great, even without an own vehicle it was easy to get around and explore the stunning nature. We enjoyed our stay a lot - totally recommend!

If you want a gook cook, someone with a passion he craves to share, and curiosity for the conversations you may have together, someone who loves animals, and organises his work in an efficient and autonomous way, have Armel as your next workawayer! He could not stay long but the time we shared was pleasant and my garden thanks him for all the preparation he made for winter. I can only whish him to go on on his trips, finding the tips he is looking for on his way so that his passion is fullfiled.

Luka und ihre Familie haben uns sehr nett empfangen und aufgenommen. Wir haben gekocht, aufgeräumt und Lukas Mutter, Mira, beim Umzug geholfen. Sie sind alle sehr nett und offen und wir haben uns wohl gefühlt. Leider mussten wir aufgrund von gesundheitlichen Problemen vorzeitig abreisen, Luka und Aurélien haben sehr viel Verständnis gezeigt und uns eine reibungslose Abreise ermöglicht. Es war dennoch eine sehr schöne Zeit, die uns noch lange in Erinnerung bleiben wird und wir wünschen der Familie alles Gute und allen zukünftigen Workawayern viel Spaß!

Thank you so much to Jern and Kai for the past two weeks. We learned so much from them, about plants, animals, permaculture, Malaysian culture, Mandarin, and more. The two weeks we spent with them were so much fun that it felt like the time flew by. Planting edamame beans, creating a garden and campfire area, harvesting bananas, coconuts, and other fruits - every project was new and meaningful to us. They also always asked how we were doing and expressed their gratitude at the end of work and during meals. Their involvement and the time we spent with them always warmed our hearts.We are truly delighted to have met Jane and Kai.

Honestly, a truly amazing time! Everyone involved was very respectful and helpful. Amazing people, if you work well with kids, enjoy local and culture and food, and are willing to learn how to teach. THIS is the host for you, thank you for having me!

My stay with Sandra was a truly beautiful experience in New Zealand. From the very first day, I felt warmly welcomed and at home. Sandra is a genuinely kind, friendly and inspiring person. The meals we shared were delicious and always prepared with care, creating lovely moments of connection. The gardening work was relaxed and enjoyable, and I learned many new things while taking the time to appreciate nature and the peaceful atmosphere. I leave with wonderful memories and sincerely recommend this experience !

Dear Jasmin & Thomas Living with you both in your home has become one of my most beautiful memories ! The atmosphere in your home was so warm & comfortable; and having Henry the cat around , made everything even better! You treat me not only a family, but also like a guest ! I truly enjoyed your delicious hot meal at dinner together ! It made me feel so happy ! Thank you for complimenting my work , your recognition means a lot to me ! We spent one week in Ayutthaya and had a nice time. We especially enjoyed helping at the smoothie shop and, in general, being at the night market. Moreover, it was interesting to be able to eat like the locals. By the way grandma is an amazing cook and we were always well fed! However, don't expect too much organisation. Just go with the flow, then everything will work out. On the weekend Kitty even took all the workawayers on a trip with the whole family. Thank you very much for all the unforgettable memories. Having the chance to spend one week at the farm was truly amazing. Right from the beginning we had joyful interactions, good conversation and tasty family meals. The tasks were varied and not too difficult. So, we also had lots of time to play with Macon in the afternoon which we really enjoyed. Kik is a fantastic cook. She even showed us how to make green curry and we could try to make coconut milk by ourselves. The farm is in the middle of nature, so, we spend most time outdoors. Sleeping in the bamboo hut was a unique experience we wouldn't have wanted to miss. Thank you very much for the memories we could collect together. You are such a lovely family! All the best!

Teacher Tim is an amazing host, as she always made sure that we have a pleasent time in Ban Khwao. Although we only had four days with the children they warmly welcomed us and were really enthusiastic. We tought two lessons of English every morning and also had time to play with the kids. In the afternoon teacher Tim showed us around the area and made sure we had enough to eat. She even introduced us to some local people living in the town. Thank you for this lovely experience! We had the chance to learn a lot about the culture and had a lovely stay. All the best!
