Annette and Greg are a lovely family from New Zealand. They were very enthusiastic about sharing new knowledge and experiences with Holly and Daniel, and they showed genuine care and interest in education in Indonesia. I really appreciated the many meaningful discussions we had about politics, government policies, and social issues. They are open-minded, thoughtful, and deeply engaged in understanding different perspectives. Holly and Daniel love exploring nature and brought so much joy wherever they went. They are sweet, curious, and full of positive energy. All of my students adored them — the kids were always excited to play, learn, and spend time with them. Having this family around created a warm, joyful, and inspiring atmosphere. They connected easily with both children and adults and were a pleasure to host. I highly recommend Annette and Greg, along with Holly and Daniel, to any future host. They are kind, respectful, and truly enriching people to share a Workaway experience with.

Our stay with Anne & Harald was exceptional from the start. Their communication was excellent, and we felt very welcome to make ourselves at home in their private suite, which they had thoughtfully prepared for us and our baby to stay. Anne's hand written notes and treats for us were appreciated, and they really put alot of thought into making our stay memorable and enjoyable. The work to be done was straightforward, and the hours were flexible. It was easy to work according to our own schedule, putting in more hours some days and resting on others, and there was no pressure to work outdoors when the weather wasn't nice. We enjoyed learning about their family, and especially enjoyed learning about local history. Harald took us on a tour and had many interesting stories to share. We gained an appreciation for Dutch culture, history, and people, and gained new perspectives and growth from the exchange. We enjoyed contributing to a family meal together, and had fun sharing local recipes from our home country. A bicycle was provided during our stay, and everything we needed was accessible by walking as well. Between our travels to the big cities, we preffered staying in the small town and cherished our experience in Arkel. It was really nice to have a private space to stay, to cook our own meals, and to feel like we were on vacation (between reasonable work for our stay). The family pets including turtles, chickens, and their dog Yuta, were also appreciated. This is the perfect workaway for a couple. Our baby enjoyed it too. We will cherish our time in Arkel for years to come.

I spent about 10 days at Gaga's house. I'm truly grateful that she accepted my short-notice request. When I arrived, the first snow of the year had piled up, and the view from there was incredibly beautiful. Since it was already winter, the farm work had already been completed, so I helped with the remaining vegetables and clearing away the seedlings. It was cold, but the air was clear, and working alone was calming and enjoyable. I also spent time with the Serbian family celebrating Slavia, their most important festival of the year. It was a very interesting and enjoyable time. I helped with cooking and preparing for the festival, and I feel like I've gained a little insight into their culture. I'd like to try cooking Serbian food when I return to Japan. Since it was a cold season, the family was very considerate, asking me repeatedly if I was cold and providing me with clothes and shoes. The room was heated, so I was able to stay very comfortable. I'd like to return during a more productive work schedule and see the greenery of the season!! Thank you so much to the family🥰

Lisa and Uwe were amazing volunteers and such a joy to host. From the very beginning, they were enthusiastic, open-minded, and genuinely excited to learn and be involved. They adapted quickly to different school environments and connected really well with both students and teachers. They were confident, friendly, and brought great energy into every class. Their presence made the learning atmosphere fun, relaxed, and engaging. At home, Lisa and Uwe were easygoing, respectful, and felt like part of the family. They were always appreciative, communicative, and happy to join daily activities and cultural experiences. They’re independent, positive, and bring a calm, friendly vibe wherever they go. Having them around was effortless and enjoyable. We would absolutely recommend Lisa and Uwe to any future host. They’re reliable, kind, and wonderful people to share a Workaway experience with. Manon and Baptiste were awesome volunteers! This was their first time teaching kids, and they did an amazing job. They were enthusiastic, patient, and really put their heart into every class. They adapted super quickly, were easygoing, respectful, and got along really well with both the kids and our family. The children felt comfortable with them and were always excited when it was time to learn together. Their way of teaching was fun and relaxed, which made the kids enjoy the process even more. Outside teaching hours, Manon and Baptiste were always up for new experiences. They were genuinely curious about local culture, happy to join family activities, explore nature, visit villages, play sports, and just hang out together. They’re also very independent, communicative, and respectful of house rules. Having them around brought a really positive and chill vibe to the house. We would 100% recommend Manon and Baptiste to any future host. They’re not just great volunteers, but also kind, fun, and lovely people to share moments with. One can see that the organisation is at its beginning, nevertheless, I had an amazing time. The arrival was smooth but I would appreciate more information of where I am about to stay, if I am there alone or with someone else and where to find everyone :D (I was picked up from airport and went directly to Homestay). Carolina Homestay itself was amazing - thank you again for lovely time! I was told on my first day that I'm not gonna teach, just help the teacher. The reality was the opposite. :D I didn't mind, enjoyed all the classes, however, the communication between teachers - volunteers was miserable. I haven't stay for long enough to help to improve the class structure and make it easy for new volunteers. But I believe within few months it might work better as everyone is keen to change it. Thank you guys. I will come back one day!

Our stay with Elizabeth and Jos was short but sweet. Even though they weren't set up to host more than one, they shuffled some things around to help us when we needed a place to sleep between travel stays. They made us feel welcome in their home, and their boys were truly a delight. This was a lovely exchange for learning about local culture and lifestyle, as we were very involved in their day-to-day life and activities; from family dinners, parties and get-togethers, to outings in the community like walks or going to church. They were very accommodating, and able to help us with travel from the train station, and even shared some warmer clothing for our baby when we went to a cooler city. We were fed well, looked after, felt respected and comfortable to be ourselves. We really enjoyed hearing stories about their lives and getting to know them better. They were also open to trying some new things that we could share from our own lifestyle. Overall, we had a very good stay, and really enjoyed spending time with this Dutch family. We can honestly say we've made new friends, and hope to stay in contact for years to come.

We spent three wonderful weeks in Mendoza and with Rodrigo and his super nice team. Work shifts are so that you have three days off and can enjoy the city. We did horseback riding in the mountains, went to the hot springs by bus, had a wine tasting at the bodegas and went hiking. The city is great for partys as well. We would always come back, there are so many more things we would like to do!

Julie is a very nice person, very indépendant person who is well organized. 😊 It was nice having her at our home. She did really well helping us with our family whenever needed. The kids would have liked to create a closer bond with her but she had a lot of work as an independent teacher to do so not easy to combine. 🙏 We wish her the very best in her projects, work, life and futur. 😊 Thank you again for everything. ✨

Lee is an awesome person. Super responsible, hardworking and has such a positive energy. He took great care of the dogs and around the house. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him. Jaffy and Islay absolutely loved him, it was obvious how much care given to them (especially the extra treats - which made them very happy!) Lee - thank you for all of your kindness and the laughs! Hope we see you again sometime soon, and hope you and J have the most amazing start to 2026✨

This ranch is amazing and beautiful, it was a wonderful experience. This little paradise is in the middle of the mountains (where I had the chance to go horseback riding several times) and you are constantly surrounded by animals (horses, cats, dogs, chickens, etc.). You form a bond with the horses, you listen to them, you take care of them, you work with them gently, you see the progress they make (which is great)... Stephanie is a very kind and patient person, and always has good advices. I spent a month here, it was great (and too short). I really hope to come back, I already miss it. So thank you for everything!

Kalle was a very nice person who we loved to have at our home. He worked in the garden and did a wonderfully job. I really appreciate what he did. He was nice, friendly, polite, the kids liked him a lot,..... 🙏 He was a really nice surprise. He is always more then welcome at any time. We wish him all the best. 😊

Giada brought so much to our home: her sense of order and cleanliness allowed us to live in a sparkling kitchen for two months, and she also brought her organizational skills and dedication to areas that needed it. Delicious pizzas and tiramisu delighted our family and friends, a lovely Italian-themed evening with an lesson of Italian was enjoyed by all, and a wonderful connection and bonding with my son was the perfect finishing touch. Thank you so much, Giada, for sharing these delightful moments with us!

Sixten, est quelqu'un de très sympa, et calme. Nous avons été ravi de partagé ces moments avec lui .Sixten a travaillé dans le jardin , il m'a beaucoup aidé et il a été très efficace.il parle très bien le Français, dont cela a été très facile d'échanger. I stayed with Steve, Penny, and their two lovely dogs, Percy and Betsy, for three wonderful weeks. I feel very lucky to have met them. Even before I arrived, their kind and warm messages made me feel welcome. Thanks to their support, I had a happy and comfortable time in Tasmania. They gave me helpful advice before going out, including checking the weather and telling me the best day to visit Cradle Mountain, as well as suggesting that I bring food and warm drinks. They treated me like part of the family. Thanks to them taking me to many wonderful places, I was able to see wildlife such as penguins, pademelons, and platypuses, which was a truly amazing experience. The work was simple and flexible, mainly tasks like weeding and cleaning. The meals were always delicious, and I looked forward to them every day. Even though my English was limited, they were patient and taught me a lot about plants, animals, and life in Tasmania and Australia. I sincerely appreciate their kindness and care. They are amazing hosts, and I highly recommend staying with them.

I stayed at the wildlife park for 4 weeks as a volunteer and loved every day of it! Even came back for another week ;) It's such a beautiful place with super cute animals (squirrel gliders, wombats, a koala, wallabies, dingoes, and so on) and a really nice team of colleagues. We had so much fun together while working, going to the beach or having BBQs. I really enjoyed being out in nature so much, gardening, caring for and cuddeling the animals, watching beautiful sunsets, and trying the amazing food they make at the Clean Cravings Eatery (it's sooo good). David is a great guy, always friendly, open to new ideas, values other's opinions and has so many interesting things to tell - about the animals, travelling and building stuff to turn a car into a camper, thanks again for your help on that ;) I'll definetly be back someday! Wish you all the best :)

Jana, an authentic dancer, packed so much into the short time we spent together. She is someone who moves with a passion for her purpose and exceeds expectations in every task she undertakes. While highly organized on one hand, she is also incredibly in the flow and able to express herself in a truly authentic way. Especially when it came to dance, she was a complete performance artist. She was a full-spectrum volunteer. We shared our space with mutual respect and in a constructive manner. With us, she had her first chance to create a mural, and through diligent work, she left behind a beautiful artwork and a memory in just two days—a tree representing the transition of four seasons, its leaves blooming with rainbow light. To those who may wish to host her as a volunteer, I recommend opening your doors to her.

Ada was such a great help to our family. She was flexible to our needs and always did everything with a smile. She bonded with our son so quickly because of her positive loving energy. We would always have her back and you’d be so lucky to have her join your family.
