Beschreibung
We are located in Lonquimay, Araucanía region, an area of Northern Patagonia in Chile and a neighbor of Argentina. The Reserve is a project for the conservation and enhancement of the geological, natural and cultural heritage of the area. It has facilities for visitors, numerous trails and georutes, highlighting in them some important geosites that are within the Kutralkura Geopark (UNESCO) the activities of the reserve footprints are adapted to the seasons, since we are in a mountain area. Patagonian and high Andean, where the seasons set the conditions. Thus, in summer we do trekking, explorations, among others, then in autumn we add photographic zafarís, scientific visits, among others. in winter everything is snow, snow sports; randonee, ski, backcountry among others. the reserve has a great refuge to accommodate up to 21 people, also some domes, camping sites.
We are working hard this year 2025 and 2026 to reintroduce some wonderful species that disappeared from Patagonia (such as the Guanaco and the Rhea) and monitoring other animals from here (Pumas, Vizcachas), so we have a great task ahead of us to prepare for the return of these animals and the restoration of the local ecosystem. Our central project is a biological corridor that connects Chile and Argentina for the free transit of these animals, but also to improve the quality of life of local communities and help preserve the culture of Patagonia.
We have a huge garden where we grow our food every day. wehave internet, also many books and many places, but we have places with better signals for the stay of our volunteers we have a big house fully equipped, very beautiful and next to the river the I am the owners of the House (Carlos) and my daughter Popi ( and our dear dog Coco :) ). I am an anthropologist, raised in the mountains, traveler by trade, connoisseur of American cultures, reader, lover of nature, My doughter is the inspirational spirit of this place :)
se encuentra en Lonquimay, región de la Araucanía, zona de la Patagonia Norte de Chile y vecina de la Argentina. La Reserva es un proyecto de conservación y de puesta en valor del patrimonio geológico, natural y cultural de la zona. posee instalaciones para visitantes, numerosos senderos y georutas, destacándose en ellos algunos geositios de importancia que estan dentro del Geoparque Kutralkura (UNESCO)
las actividades de la reserva se adecuan a las estaciones, pues estamos en una zona de montaña. patagónica y alto andina, donde las estaciones ponen las condiciones. así, en verano realizamos trekking, exploraciones, cabalgatas, entre otros, luego en otoño agregamos zafarís fotográficos, visitas científicas, entre otros. en invierno todo es nieve, deportes de nieve; randonee, esqui, backcountry entre otros.
la reserva tiene un gran refugio donde alojar hasta 21 personas, tambien algunos domos, sitios de camping.
estamos trabajando fuertemente este año 2025 y 2026 en reintroducir algunas especies maravaillosas que desaparecieron de la Patagonia ( como el Guanaco y los Ñandu) y monitoreando otros animales de aca ( Pumas, Vizcachas), por lo que tenemos por delante una gran tarea de trabajo para preparar el regreso de estos animales y la restauración del ecosistema local. Nuestro proyecto central es un corredor biológico que conecta chile y argentina para el libre transito de estos animales, pero tambien para mejorar la calidad de vida de las comunidades locales y ayudar conservar la cultura de la patagoia
tenemos una enorme huerta donde día a dia cultivamos nuestros alimentos
tenemos siempre internet, muchos libros y muchos lugares, pero tenemos lugares con mejor señal para la estadia de nuestros voluntarios tenemos un refugio totalmente equipada, muy bonito junto al rio

We are inside a great natural reserve, surrounded by mountains and lakes, parks and places, so the stay can be a wonderful experience to discover and live nature. We are close to everything, so you can visit many places even by bicycle!
