For years Its always been my brother and I's dream to come to Ireland, but not as another American tourist babbling how our family originated from here. But as a worker and someone who can blend into the culture and have fun. We arrived to the family in May 2025, not even the first day we already felt like we were part of one huge family. The work was more rewarding the hard, and Always looking forward for the best food in Ireland after a hard day of work, Cooked by mona (or on special occasions by Ron as well). with a great meal to look forward at the end of the day it came with some days when the weather was typical Irish wether, cold and rainy or scorching hot. It didn't matter what the conditions were, we knew that it was worth getting burned and rained on, to have the pleasure of working with the family. There is a thousand stories I can tell from just our short 3 mouths here working with them. Anyone who stumbles across this family will be guaranteed to laugh till it hurts, party all night if you have to, full bellies everyday, work in the great green outdoors, and have great company with good vibes. Being in this environment helped us understand more about the beauty of the world outside America. If we had to do it all again, It would be a ticket straight back to the front door of the family.

Nous avons passé 15 jours ico et ce fut une super expérience ! 🌞 Nos missions étaient variées : cours d’anglais avec enfants et adultes, cours de surf pour les plus jeunes, projet environnemental avec la municipalité (creuser des trous pour planter des palmiers), et nettoyage de plage avec la SEGAT. Shegu, le responsable sur place, nous a accueillis chaleureusement. Il est enthousiaste, très présent pour les volontaires et veut vraiment le meilleur pour les enfants ainsi que la ville de Salaverry. La maison était confortable, avec une chambre privative comme convenu, ce qui nous a permis d’être à l’aise. Bien sûr, il y a quelques points à améliorer : le sandboard n’a pas pu avoir lieu à cause de planches abîmées (un renouvellement serait nécessaire), et l’organisation avec la municipalité mériterait d’être mieux coordonnée. Par exemple, nous n’avons pas pu mettre en place les palmiers pendant notre séjour, ce qui est un peu frustrant. Les cours d’anglais, organisés trois fois par semaine, accueillent souvent de nouveaux enfants de tout âges, ce qui rend plus difficile un vrai suivi. Malgré ça, nous repartons avec un très bon souvenir : une expérience dépaysante, humaine et enrichissante que nous recommandons à ceux qui veulent s’engager dans un projet local 🌱🏄‍♀️👨‍🎓

I spent 10 wonderful days at the Buddhist meditation center. First of all, the place is absolutely beautiful, surrounded by greenery with stunning views of the mountains, which really helps with meditation and personal reflection. As for the volunteer work, I helped out in the fields and with organizing common spaces. Sometimes it can be physically demanding, but it’s always very rewarding. The atmosphere with the other volunteers was really nice, and we shared lots of meaningful moments together. On top of that, the sunims supported me and introduced me to the world of meditation through group sessions as well as personal guidance. All in all, it was a truly wonderful experience that allowed me to support the center, reconnect with myself, and explore a simple yet fulfilling lifestyle. Finally, I want to thank the sunims for their constant kindness and support. I can’t wait to go back!

My review is pretty delayed I was there early-mid May. I really enjoyed my time with the dogs and miss them so much! I stayed about a mile away from the site and walked there and back every day. I feel like I got the best of both worlds with my accommodation and then being able to work with those amazing dogs! I also had the pleasure of meeting a few other amazing volunteers and loved trying to speak English with Pablo! I overall really enjoyed my time there and the work we did. Aaron puts in a lot of effort for the dogs and they are his first priority.

I can highly recommend volunteering here to anyone. Gabriela, Melanie, Cecilia, and the whole team take really loving care of the animals with all their hearts. They really do everything they can to ensure that the animals have a great life there. During the two weeks I learned so much about dogs and cats. The tasks are really great and fun and you can cuddle and spend time with all the amazing animals. In such a short time, I developed a deep bond with the dogs and cats and didn't want to leave. The accommodation in the Vollunteer house is also very cute and well-kept and has everything you need. It really is a great foundation with the cutest dogs and cats. Thank you for the wonderful two weeks and all your work. I will never forget them and will definitely come back one day! :)

Meet a fantastic team: Mia stayed here with her brother and a friend for only 10 days, she was dynamic and enthusiastic, learning the routines with the animals, being so reliable and dependable, and completing each task carefully, Including some heavy work with gravel, and harvesting vegetables. Mia is exceptionally artistic, and painted a beautiful mural on an outside wall. I much appreciate all your efforts to make Rosie farm more beautiful. Thank you Mia. Nino stayed here with His sister Mia and a friend. They worked seamlessly together, getting a lot done, in a focused manner with good grace, despite damp weather. He was so caring and reliable with the animals. Nino is a lovely interesting person, many good conversations were shared. I highly recommend Nino to help you! Mathieu Though Mathieu’s visit was short, a lot was achieved… as well as regular cleaning and care of the poultry, he harvested vegetables, scythed and raked hay, did ground work with gravel and sand, as well as being a whiz in the kitchen, creating delicious meals. He is very friendly, we had some great conversations and shared a brilliant week. Thank you Mathieu for your rock solid reliability and wonderful help here on Rosie farm.

Emily was great to have around. She immediately integrated herself with the locals, even participated in the 18th of September parade in the village. She proactively looked for work when I didn't have any for her to do and we had a good time talking and working together. I wish her all the best for he travels and hopefully see her again on her way back to Santiago.

Barbara stayed with me and my 16 dogs for a month and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. From the very first day she felt like a good friend visiting rather than just a volunteer. The dogs and I immediately felt comfortable with her. 🥰🐾 She supported me in all daily tasks, also helping with the groceries, cooking (she is an awesome chef 😋) as well as extra projects such as painting, sanding, gardening, washing the dogs, and more. She even handled hard works like cleaning the water hole in the jungle with great energy and a positive attitude. We shared French-Spanish lessons, delicious meals and great stories. We spent a lot of time together, laughed a lot and had an amazing time. She cared for the dogs with so much love, tooked them with her in the bed and also into town on her free days ❤️ I’m deeply grateful for her help and her wonderful company. I can wholeheartedly recommend Barbara to any host and truly hope our paths will cross again one day💚

I spent three months here, from July until the end of September, and it was my very first stop in Canada. I couldn’t have wished for a better beginning. The lodge is surrounded by untouched nature: raccoons at night, deer and moose in the forest, a beaver right in front of the dock, and unforgettable sunrises and sunsets over the lake. This place is pure poetry, a timeless corner of Canada. The lodge itself is spacious, comfortable, and full of everything you might need. Deven and his family welcomed me with such kindness and warmth that I instantly felt at home. Deven is someone you don’t easily forget: always ready with a joke, a laugh, or just the right words to lift your spirits after a busy day. His laughter is contagious, and he has a unique way of making everyone feel at ease. There is always plenty to do, especially on the weekends, but the genuine warmth and smiles of the guests make every task a pleasure rather than work. I will miss my slow mornings sipping coffee in the company of the chickens and the chipmunks, the refreshing swims in the lake, and that feeling of being part of a family that welcomes you with open arms and no conditions. And I know my cat Paka will also miss being the feline queen of the lodge grounds, as well as her phenomenal cuddle and nap sessions with Deven. This is not just a place to work, it is a home away from home. I’m leaving with countless happy memories… and quite a few more Bob Dylan songs stuck in my head! Thank you, Deven, and thank you to your wonderful family, for memories I’ll always carry with me.

I’m so grateful for my time with Jose and Phil. It was a truly unforgettable experience. From the moment I arrived they made me feel welcomed with genuine warmth and kindness. I learned heaps and had the best time with their animals Milla, Fitz, Lola, Bruce, the chooks and Odie. One of the standout times was joining Jose at a horse-riding competition. It was absolutely amazing and something I’ll never forget. Phil’s cooking was absolutely delicious. Their farm is a lovely place and I wholeheartedly recommend this Workaway. Thank you!

Con los huéspedes muy amables y dispuestos a resolver cualquier situación. Gracias por la calidez y sonrisa para todos.

I could only visit one night, because of my own schedules. I still wanted to visit and good that I did! Kids were so lovely, and everyone at the village were so nice and kind. We sang karaoke and next day at class there was songs and dacing, playing with the kids. It was bit difficult to communicate without same language but there was still many things you could do, surely a lot more than I did, because I was so short time and I didn't have time to learn or get to know those kids. I wish I could have stayed longer but I'm very happy I even get to visit quickly. And I fully recommend volunteering here and if possible staying longer time I did.

This Workaway was simply a great experience for me. Everyone at the hostel was so nice and treated me like family. I want to thank Sabik in particular. I had a great time and learned a lot. The day shift was mostly cleaning, and during the night shift, I also did some reception work. I struggled a bit with my Spanish at times, so I would recommend future volunteers practice their Spanish beforehand to make things easier. But despite my obstacles, everyone was very nice and accommodating. The Workaway is very central in Valparaíso, which is a lovely city. Even after my time there, I still feel as though there is a lot the city has to offer that I have not seen. It is simply a unique city. For me, this was a great experience to visit Chile and practice my Spanish. The people were so kind and heartfelt. Thanks to everyone, including the other Workawayers! I was very sad when I left and would like to visit again in the future. Esta experiencia de Workaway fue simplemente maravillosa para mí. Todos en el hostal fueron muy amables y me trataron como a parte de la familia. Quiero agradecer especialmente a Sabik. Me lo pasé muy bien y aprendí mucho. El turno de día consistía principalmente en limpieza, y durante el turno de noche también hice algo de trabajo en la recepción. A veces me costaba un poco con el español, por lo que recomendaría a futuros voluntarios practicar el idioma antes para que todo sea más fácil. Pero, a pesar de mis dificultades, todos fueron muy amables y comprensivos. El Workaway está muy céntrico en Valparaíso, que es una ciudad encantadora. Incluso después de mi tiempo allí, siento que todavía hay mucho que la ciudad tiene para ofrecer que no he visto. Es simplemente una ciudad única. Para mí, fue una experiencia estupenda para visitar Chile y practicar mi español. La gente fue muy amable y cordial. ¡Gracias a todos, incluidos los otros Workawayers! Me sentí muy triste al irme y me gustaría volver a visitar en el futuro.

Amy es una anfitriona EXCEPCIONAL. Su casa es súper acogedora, cálida y cómoda. Sus gatitos son preciosos y una adorable compañía. La ducha del jardín entre madera y glicinias, mágica... Para mí Amy ha sido sinónimo de hogar, de REFUGIO, de hospitalidad. Amy tiene un enorme corazón, se desvive para que estés a gusto, y por crear un ambiente de colaboración, pero también de libertad. Me encantó que gran parte del trabajo lo hicimos juntas. Me enseñó pacientemente todo lo que tenía que conocer para hacer el trabajo; aprendí bricolaje y disfruté de corazón ayudándola en las mejoras de su casa. Pero también me cedió su tiempo para mostrarme el bello pueblito de Meschers y sus preciosas playas, además de otros pueblos cercanos de esta preciosa y joya desconocida que es el Charente Marítimo. El corazón generoso de Amy me hizo muchísimo bien este verano (y sus deliciosas galette jiji). Al final compartimos mucho más que las horas de trabajo. Compartimos amistades, risas, música, conversaciones interesantes, inteligentes y profundas, lágrimas, juegos y sueños. Amy es una mujer fuerte, valiente, luchadora y a la vez dulce, tierna y amorosa. Es una persona inspiradora, que deja huella. No puedo más que recomendar esta experiencia de la que me siento profundamente agradecida. Merci, ma chère amie. À la prochaine! ☆

We would like to sincerely thank Abigail & Aharon for coming to help us. They were wonderful teachers for our children – always well-prepared before every lesson, patient, and kind. The children enjoyed learning with them so much. They also helped us with cooking, and the meals they made were truly delicious. We had so much fun sharing meals together and enjoying their cooking. We really appreciated their support, warm energy, and positive attitude during their stay. It was such a pleasure to host them, and we warmly recommend them to any future host. Wish you both all the best in your future journeys!

This was my first workaway experience and I truly could not have asked for anything better! The brothers and sisters were so welcoming and their community based, faith-filled lives are so beautiful. My daily schedule allowed for me to have structure and also plenty of down time to enjoy the incredibly idyllic grounds (and many cute animals)! I spoke very minimal French upon arrival, and would suggest anyone interested to brush up on their French as I feel it is the best way to get the full experience! I went into this workaway hoping for some peace and to experience a different way of life. I had these things and I am also leaving with new lifelong friends and a profound appreciation for the wonderful way of life which they practice here! I will miss everything and everyone so profoundly. I cannot recommend this experience enough♥️ thank you for everything!

Joe and Rachel's property is bustling with friends and family, which they are glad to invite workawayers along, as well as to events in the community. They are passionate about their beliefs and meticulous in their planning of projects and how to involve workawayers to make it a learning experience. The food was pretty good too!

Living here was a revitalizing time with the beautiful river, the huerta, bosque, the gompa and with the people. The place and community have a very lovely and positve energy that also comes with the small rituals we have together before every meal for example. Not only a good place to find rest and relaxation but also a good place to grow. I learned a lot living together with the people and I am really thankful for that. I am already missing the place and the people I connected with. It feels like I found a home I can always come back to. Thanks for the beautiful 3 months together. Sending you a lot of love familia <3
