jelena and i spend about 1 week at arturo's. he is a guy with a super big heart, really sharing and offering a lot, wanting to make you feel as comfortable as you possibly can. his dogs are the cutest and he is a super good cook. actually we spent a lot of time cooking like making glutenfree pizza in the pizzaofen (thanks again for the best glutenfreepizza ever) or making falafel from scratch. arturo took us to beautiful places, rivers, waterfalls. highlights were the climbing (or descending) on the waterfall and to play football with a waterbottle with his lovely nephew in a park. workwise we were supposed to build a bambooyurt, but since arturo's car broke down we couldn't do it. instead we did a tiny bit of gardening but mainly we were having fun :) muchas gracias y gran abrazo!

I stayed at the beginning of november for about 10 days at noya's. the nature there is beautiful and the doggos full of love! noya did a lot for me, like cooking super super good and taking me most afternoons for hikes, while explaining me a lot about the plants. she also took me horseriding, showed me latin funk or we put some art on her walls. noya has a really good heart with strong values that she lives after. also she is very smart and super well informed about politics. what i often found to be dificult was her communication which for me could be quite condescending which left me uncomfortable. it was good tough that we could talk about it.

Emma is a 10 star workawayer. A very good experience, and Emma stayed longer as planned. Emma is such a friendly and helpful person, very dilligent at any task you might ask her to do, top responsable, best teamworker. And very interested in her surroundings, adapting easily to different ways of living and cultures, with a kean interest in life and Human Rights. And always approaching life, and people, with a smile on her face. Top recommended! Welcome back any time, Emma!

Mon séjour de presque trois semaines au Hostal auprès de Bush et Castor a été l'une de mes plus belles expériences de voyage. Déjà, Castor m'a fait me sentir comme chez moi dans son hostal. Il a été bienveillant et attentif à tous mes besoins. Il a pris de son temps pour me faire visiter la ville, me compter l'histoire de son pays et m'emmener dans les endroits les plus typiques de Santa Ana et même supporter l'équipe locale durant un match de foot épique ! Durant mon séjour, j'ai pu donner des cours d'anglais à Sofia, Maria et Carla, trois femmes exceptionnelles. Cette opportunité m'a inscrite au cœur de la vie de locaux au cœur immense. Cette expérience était bien plus qu'un volontariat, alors Castor encore merci pour ton accueil et ton temps, je sais que je reviendrai à El Salvador et Santa Ana pour visiter un ami ❤️

I had a great experience with Susan and her family. I really enjoyed spending time and working with them. She was a great host and it was a beautiful place to spend a couple of weeks.

I stayed in his school about 3 weeks. You can teach any subject what you like for the students. It depends on your experiences and imaginations. I taught mathematics, geography, and Shorinji Keno, which is a sport in my country. Not only you teach something to the students, but also you learn lots of things from the students. I learned Tanzanian real life, foods, and hobby from them. It may be completely different from those of your countries, but must be the precious experiences. At last, I appreciate for all of students and teachers and who made me foods. Thank you so much.

We had a good experience hosting Maria, and her friend Anna. They were friendly, respectful, and easy to communicate with. They helped with the agreed tasks and adapted well to our daily routines and family life. Overall, Maria was reliable and contributed positively during their stay. We wish them all the best and thank them for their help.

I hosted Vicenç for one month, and I only wish it had been longer, as it was truly one of the most positive Workaway experiences I’ve had. He is a wonderful person with an open heart and mind, who fully respected me, my home, and its rules. He helped immensely with the daily organization and cleanliness of the house, organized and cleaned the garage, and worked in the garden with pruning and weeding. As a very experienced runner, he also generously supported me in improving my running technique and performance, always adapting to my pace. He was always willing to help with anything needed, often taking initiative on his own without requiring guidance. Everything he did was perfectly carried out with great care and dedication, as if it were his own home. Beyond all the help, what I appreciated most was his calm presence, genuine smile, and the sense of peace he brought into every moment. Over time, and through the long, thoughtful conversations we shared, he became much more than a guest—I truly feel I gained a good friend. I’m sure we will meet again somewhere in the world, one way or another. I wholeheartedly recommend Vicenç and am confident that anyone who hosts him will feel just as lucky as I did!!!

Marie stayed here for a bit over two weeks, and it was really wonderful having her around. She helped mainly with the olive harvest, but also with some fruit harvesting and general clean-up of the land. She is a proactive person during the harvest as well as in the kitchen, and eager to learn new things. Calm and grounded, but also has a great sense of humour — we shared many good laughs together. She brought a warm and cozy feeling to the place and was very easy to talk to. Respectful, positive, and a real pleasure to have around. She’s always welcome back here, and I’d happily recommend her to other hosts.

Lara stayed here for about a week during the olive harvest, and I really enjoyed having her here. Most of the time was spent on the harvest, where she worked well as part of the team. Although it was probably a bit out of her comfort zone at times, she adapted easily to life here. She also helped out in the kitchen and made a lovely mint syrup using mint from the garden. Lara brought a positive and relaxed energy to the group, and we had some fun moments together — including playing cards in the evenings, which brought lots of laughter. A kind and positive person — she’s always welcome back here, and I’d happily recommend her to other hosts.

Estuvimos casi cuatro semana. Lau nos recibió muy cordialmente y fue muy flexible y abierto con las tareas. Desde el principio nos demostró mucha confianza, lo cual apreciamos mucho. Como estuvimos allí a principios de octubre, aún no había mucha actividad en el hostal. Hicimos muchos trabajos de mantenimiento, trabajamos en el jardín y, por supuesto, también atendimos a los huéspedes. Hicimos asados, una noche de juegos de mesa y también una noche italiana. El hostal es un lugar muy bonito y nos sentimos muy a gusto desde el primer momento. Moka, la perra del hostal, es un encanto y salimos mucho a pasear con ella. Algunos días también ayudamos a Lau en su campo y pudimos ver lo que está construyendo allí y cómo vive. Nos gustó mucho el tiempo que pasamos y estamos muy agradecidos de haber podido formar parte de la familia¡ Muchas gracias y esperamos volver pronto! 💜💜💜

I stayed with Andre on his farm and had a very positive experience. The project is genuinely connected to nature and sustainability, and there’s a lot to learn by doing. Andre is respectful, clear in communication, and gives space while also being present when needed. His knowledge about permaculture is truly inspiring. I appreciated the trust and the relaxed but responsible atmosphere. We got along well, and I felt comfortable and welcomed during my stay. I’d recommend this place to people who enjoy hands-on work, learning, and a simple life close to nature.

I had a wonderful experience with my au pair family. The little boy was absolutely adorable and incredibly creative. He always knew what he wanted to do, which made spending time together very easy and fun. We often went to the park and the playground, and I really enjoyed these moments with him. The working hours were clearly defined from the beginning, which I appreciated a lot. I never had to work outside of my agreed working hours, and everything was handled very fairly and respectfully. The location is also a big plus: the family lives right in the heart of London. All the major sights and the most beautiful parts of the city can be reached very quickly, which made my stay even more special. The next time I am in London, I will definitely come and visit again.

Eu amei passar esse tempo. Vivi com ela durante quatro semanas – sim, vivi, não apenas morei. Desde o momento em que cheguei, me senti acolhida. Birgit é uma mulher maravilhosa, interessante e inspiradora. Durante minha estadia, trabalhei principalmente com coisas técnicas e ajudei no jardim e na casa. 2-3 horas. Mas o mais especial foi o tempo com ela e a atmosfera tão acolhedora que ela cria. Mesmo depois do meu tempo como workaway, não resisti e a visitei novamente! Agora sei que, toda vez que voltar ao Rio, com certeza irei visitá-la. ❤️

My first time in Ireland was amazing! Finn and Tony are very pleasant, patient and lovely people. I felt comfortable with everything there. The house is surrounded by an enchanting garden wich is really worth it to go out and take some fresh air. I enjoyed to help them and I'm already looking forward to meet them again. Tobias is very easy to get along with, always respectful, and brings a great attitude to the team. He also has an impressive cooking talent—everything he prepares is delicious and always adds to the group dynamic. One important note: when it comes to playing cards, don’t expect any mercy… he will win! Overall, Tobias leaves a very positive impression.

Wonderful hospitality, great collaboration on interesting and well-planned projects. The accommodation was perfect, with services like linen changes almost like a hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with Cam and highly recommend applying to work with him.

It has been a short stay on a journey around the world, but I believe very fruitful for both of us: Luciano is a very friendly and easy-going young engineer, probably at a turning point in his professional career who has landed at my place showing a lot of good will to help in my humble but necessary tasks during the cold season, such as gathering fallen foliage and shredding wood for compost and mulch. And after the work was done my yard was clean as it has never been before. Last but not least the computer has no secrets for Luciano, which has proven very timely indeed for a computer illiterate of my age. I cannot but wish him all the best for his future.

No puedo explicar con palabras lo bacán que fue tener a Nana y Ester como voluntarias. Son de esas personas con las que fácilmente podrías construir una amistad para toda la vida. Su energía, buena onda y carisma llenaron el hostel desde el primer día. Compartir los cafés de la mañana, cocinar juntos y escuchar sus historias fue realmente bonito. Siempre fueron súper atentas y proactivas con todo, aportando buenas ideas y ayudando en lo que hiciera falta. Y los dibujos de Nana… lo mejor 🖤, le dieron un toque único y hermoso al hostel. Solo me queda decir que las voy a extrañar muchísimo. Les deseo todo lo mejor en lo que venga y estoy seguro de que, donde sea que hagan voluntariados, van a estar felices de conocerlas, porque realmente son increíbles. Gracias por tanto 💫
