I spent 2 weeks at Nergui's home in Khatgal in June 2026. Nergui, her husband Ganaa and their two kids Sodoo and T were incredibly warm, friendly and kind and always tendered to any needs I had. I stayed in Nergui's guesthouse cabin which I had all to myself which was very comfortable. I was tasked with practicing English with both T and Sodoo for around 2 hours a day (although I hardly felt they needed it considering how fluent they already are), as well as teaching English conversation classes to a group of local kids too for another 2 hours a day. It was a little bit daunting at first as I had never taught English before, but I quickly adjusted and Nergui was always there to help and support. I always had a lot of free time throughout my days which gave me time to explore the town and lake, Nergui even took me hiking with the kids at one stage. While meals aren't provided, Nergui would still feed me very generously here and there and would freely let me use her coffee machine. Overall I had a very pleasant and memorable time, and I hope to see you guys again some time!

Japan arrived to our home with Kumiko and Naoya. We learnt a lot with both of them about language, culture and cooking. They have always the best mood and are grateful for every single thing. We got two good friends in the opposite side of the world. Arigato gozaimasu Kumiko to Naoya!!

Hello!! My partner Daian and I stayed at Carol, Dan, and Jimmy’s lovely apartment. We didn’t have much time to spend together because we were taking care of their home and their dog while they were away. Even so, they were both very kind and welcoming. They have a wonderful energy and made us feel at home from the very beginning. They welcomed us with a delicious dinner and gave us helpful advice, as we had just arrived in Germany. The room is very beautiful and comfortable. Jimmy is truly a loving and affectionate dog, and we became very attached to him. We took him for walks every day, played with him, spent time together, and even slept together. He has so much energy and such a sweet personality. Thank you for trusting us with your home and with Jimmy. We know how important he is to you, and it was a pleasure to take care of him. We wish you all the best and hope to see you again someday!

My time staying at Marco's place was an experience I will never forget. If you are looking for a remote, peaceful place surrounded by nature, this is the absolute best spot. Even though it is off-grid, the place is well-equipped, including a surprisingly good internet connection. It’s incredibly quiet, allowing you to truly disconnect and work on your own terms. I was looking after the house and his sweet cat, Lara. Earning her trust was incredibly special — she would come sleep next to me, and her affection brought me so much warmth and peace when I really needed it. Marco himself is a very laid-back, easy-going, and deeply empathetic person. During my stay, I faced a very tough and unexpected personal crisis. He went far above and beyond what anyone would normally expect from a host. He provided immense support, genuine care, and absolute humanity, even going out of his way to help me with transportation during a critical moment. I highly recommend Marco and his beautiful place to any Workawayer. Thank you for everything.

We would like to thank Nicole and Willem for such a warm and hospitable experience. We truly enjoyed our stay and appreciated their friendly communication and the opportunity to work together on developing their beautiful garden. During our time with them, we had the chance to explore Berlin, learn more about gardening, exchange ideas, and share valuable cultural and social experiences. It was especially thoughtful of them to visit us while we were selling our artwork at the Flohmarkt, and we really appreciated their support and encouragement. Our accommodation was very comfortable, and it was a pleasure to be welcomed into their home and share a small part of their lives. We are grateful for their kindness and generosity, and we wish them and their family all the very best with their future projects and adventures!

Andrés es un tipo excepcional, lleno de energía y muy simpático. El trabajo que hay que hacer es variado e interesante para cualquiera a quien le guste estar al aire libre, trabajar con las manos y en contacto con la naturaleza. Tanto para descubrir nuevas habilidades y técnicas de trabajo como para estar en contacto con gente estupenda y aislarse en un lugar maravilloso en plena naturaleza, ¡recomendaría a Andrés y su finca a cualquiera!

Hosted Ryan at my place for a few weeks & he was helpful. Has skills in yoga, farming, & more. Overall brought good energy to the space & was willing to help with what was needed to contribute to the project while he was here.

ich hatte ein paar richtig schöne Tage mit Christian und einer anderen volunteer. Ich musste leider spontan von einem anderen Workaway abreisen und konnte dann schon einen Monat früher zu Christian. Ich fand es richtig lieb, dass er mich zurückgerufen hat und es so schnell und spontan geklappt hat, dass ich früher kommen konnte. Er hat mich dann mit dem Auto in Cayambe abgeholt und bei sich aufgenommen In der früh haben wir immer die Lamas auf die Weide gebracht und die Kälber mit der Flasche gefüttert und dann haben wir zusammen gefrühstückt und danach viel gechillt und geredet und gelacht. Es hat sich ein bisschen angefühlt wie kurz in einer Wg wohnen und das hab ich sehr genossen. ich fands auch sehr spannend zu sehen wie seine Großeltern neben ihm wohnen weil man so einen Eindruck als Reisende eigentlich nicht bekommt. Sie und seine Tanten und Cousins und waren alle sehr lieb und herzlich und man hat sich direkt sehr wohl und gut aufgehoben gefühlt. Sein Projekt steht noch am Anfang, aber ich denke, dass man da noch richtig coole Projekt zusammen realisieren kann. Generell ist er auch sehr down Sachen zusammen zu unternehmen und einem die Gegend zu zeigen was auch sehr cool ist Vielen Lieben dank für die kurze schöne Zeit und vielleicht bis bald!

I stayed with this host from April until mid-June. Initially, the experience was positive and the agreed schedule was 5 hours per day, 5 days per week. After more than two months, the host informed me that the work schedule would permanently increase to 8 hours per day because he was unable to finish all the work that needed to be done. On one of these days, the work extended to approximately 11 hours. This was significantly different from the original agreement under which I joined the project. As a result, I decided to end my stay and leave the following day. If you are interested in learning about beekeeping and do not mind working full-time, you may enjoy this place. However, if you have your own projects, value fixed working hours, and expect the original agreement to remain unchanged during your stay, you may want to consider other hosts.

Wow! William and his family are unbelievable! They are welcoming, caring, and supportive. William gets 11 stars out of 10. I highly recommend this work way to anyone. The forest is so magical, alive, and full of the most sacred spots. There are cascading waterfalls, Blue ghost fireflies, wild flowers. It's really unreal. William provides more food than you'll ever need! And also is it sure to take work awayers on trips as well. The animals are so amazing and loving. I miss them already! I cannot recommend William and his family enough. A beautiful wonderful safe place to stay. Epic! In every way possible.

Ryan stayed with us for a couple months. He was always respectful of everyone and pitched in to help whenever an extra hand was needed. He also took initiative to work on trail projects and chopping firewood on his own. He is a capable and considerate person. His yoga is impressive, as he stood on his head at multiple waterfalls in the area with us. Ryan is definitely welcome back in the future. He thinks outside the box, which is always welcome and encouraged at our place. He has a kind heart and a strong presence. We miss him up here!

Chris's place is epic! Nestled in the confluence of sacred waters. Lots of food growing, conscious living and just good chill vibes. The dogs are all amazing! Chris is a really chill and vibrant person and I highly recommend chatting with him if you're interested. It's so beautiful here!!!

I had a really good month in the community, surrounded by great people and a sense of balance and calm. Matias has truly created a beautiful place.

From start to finish, my experience was a joy. Dominique welcomed me into her lovely home and her active life for the duration of my stay. The work was mainly gardening and some cleaning outdoors. Tasks were always clearly explained and the work was very enjoyable. Dominique was very considerate in regards to all aspects of life, accommodation, food, social inclusion, work. We enjoyed so much time together, chatting after meals, going to the beach, attending Dominique's choir concerts and meeting friends. As my introduction to Workaway, this really was a super experience. To spend time with this kind, thoughtful, convivial and wise woman was very enriching. I hope that our paths will cross again.

We stayed with Arne and Karishma for almost 2 weeks, and really fell in love with their family, their kindness and generosity, and their unbelievably warm spirits of accepting people into their home from all walks of life. It was a superb workaway experience, where hosts become instant friends, and the work itself becomes an act of helping a friend or family member. We learned a lot about their life in Bulgaria, and their many experiences traveling solo and together, and shared too many stories of our own. They are an amazing family, and it would be an honor to be invited back into their home. And let's not forget ALL the delicious meals that were prepared for us.... We will keep this workaway as a truly amazing memory for years to come, and look forward to coming back and seeing their Social Inn come to life. Miss you guys! Gaia is a very kind and friendly young woman. She stayed with us for about 10 days during the summer. While she was here, she helped us with gardening and collecting plums. She also prepared delicious dinners for us and baked a wonderful Italian cake. Our children spent a lot of time with Gaia and she happily joined in all of their games and activities. We also enjoyed many evenings together, sharing conversations. Some of our friends even had the opportunity to practice their Italian and Spanish with her. We truly enjoyed having Gaia with us and would be happy to recommend her to any future host family. She was a great help, easy to live with, and brought a positive atmosphere to our home. While waiting for my friend to arrive in Canada I was able to stay and help out at Aarons place for a week, which turned out to be a very humbling experience. I was touched by the way Aaron shared his place with quite some people in difficult life situatuations and how much trust and encouraging communication he is spreading. I had some very inspiring conversations with him an also other people living on the property at the time. The work I did involved mostly woodstacking and weeding which was great for me and I had plenty of time for myself. but I guess it can vary a lot concerning your skills and time of stay. Thanks for having me Aaron, you're a truly wonderful person! Sandro

I had a lovely time staying at Kay's cozy BnB. Kay is warm and a great host, she always made sure I had what I needed, I got to try Scottish food and we had some great laughs. The room is very comfortable, the work is very fair and there is plenty of time to explore lovely Tomatin or head out to explore nearby areas. Thankyou Kay! <33
