My time at the Hostel was a wonderful experience, and I’m very grateful for it. Reda and Leila are incredibly kind, welcoming, and warm-hearted hosts who made me feel like part of the family from day one. My tasks were mainly preparing breakfast in the morning and serving drinks in the evening. Everything was well organized, fair, and clearly communicated. What I appreciated most was the respectful and thoughtful communication, they always treated me with kindness, appreciation, and genuine respect. The hostel has such a warm and friendly atmosphere, and you can feel how much love Reda, Leila and the team put into this place. Their hospitality and the small everyday moments made this experience very special. I highly recommend staying here as a Volunteer. Thank you, Reda, Leila, Soufiane, Otmane, Fati and Ouiame for making this such a beautiful experience. 💛

Oliver stayed my two farm .One is sheep farm at beginning .There he was helping sheep herding help daily routing.I think it was difficult at beginning but it takes week to get learn . But he was one of best volunteer. Other farm was cow farm experience was unique... Thank you Oliver

What an amazing time we had with Amy! Amy is incredibly open, candid and heartful. It took her literally no time to blend in in our community and her curiosity and tenderness touched the heart of whoever managed to spend longer time with her. She joined us in all the possible outings in the nearby cities and brought along so much enthusiasm, that beautifully added up to the joyous atmosphere of the excursions. Amy is very dutiful, warm and dedicated and just loves to get to know people and take part to any kind of activity or community program. She also loves to share her heart and her different life experiences, which are prolific and at the same time profound. It was an enriching exchange to have her here and we are longing very much for her next visit. You are most welcome dear Amy, see you soon! :)

Ronja was an excellent volunteer. She was hardworking, respectful, and easy to talk to. She brought a positive vibe to the house and to the other volunteers. We highly recommend her to the Workaway community. Thank you for everything, Ronja. We wish you all the best in your future journeys. Our home will always be open to you :)

It was a wonderful stay. A welcoming family, with whom we shared insights and experiences. I recommend spending a few weeks with this wonderful family if you want to fully experience country life.

Lovisa was a wonderful volunteer and a pleasure to have as part of our team. She was responsible, reliable, and always completed her tasks with dedication and care. Beyond fulfilling her responsibilities, she was proactive, eager to help, and consistently brought a positive attitude to everything she did. I even brought Lovisa to a local wedding, and she blended in wonderfully with the community. She was friendly, respectful, and made everyone feel comfortable. She is open-minded, patient, and very easy to work with. I highly recommend Lovisa to any host and would be happy to welcome her back anytime.

Two best friends became two best guests.They came for two weeks, and stayed for three months. That tells it all, does it not?

We hosted Laura at Leborde for over three weeks and she proved to be extremely hard working and had a great skill set that she happily put to good use, especially in our garden. She took on lots of gardening and painting projects and was confident enough to take initiative and suggest how best to tackle some of our challenges. Her experience with her own older property and garden was invaluable. We learnt from each other which is one of the joys of the workaway programme. Laura was very respectful and independent and having her own car, allowed her to be able to explore the area in her time off. She is very reliable and trustworthy and we felt that we could leave our home and garden in trusted hands when we were away at the end of her stay. We cannot recommend Laura highly enough.

Rita is a very nice and likeabel person and she instantly became family. All I can say is that you are lucky to have her! And we have agreed that she will return to ut. And for this we are very grateful

Bhuvnesh had very little experience with tools and DIY work when he arrived—he was using a screwdriver and other tools for the first time. However, he learned quickly and was always willing to help. He adapted well to new tasks and did his best in everything he was asked to do. Thank you for your help, Bhuvnesh!

It was an absolute pleasure to host Bart and Soshanna. They integrated into our daily life so quickly that they truly felt like a part of the family. They were a tremendous help with both the gardening and in the kitchen. We had such a wonderful time together, and I would love to host them again in the future. I highly recommend them to any host.

Having Natsuki with us was an absolute joy. From the very first moment, she felt like part of our family. She is kind, caring, friendly, and incredibly helpful. Our children adored her, and she became like a big sister to our daughter, who already misses her very much. Natsuki completed every task to a very high standard and was always reliable, motivated, and proactive. We also really enjoyed the cultural exchange and loved learning more about Japan, its culture, language, and writing systems through our conversations. The time flew by far too quickly, and we already miss her. We wholeheartedly recommend Natsuki to any future host. If you have the chance to welcome her into your home, don't hesitate—you'll be incredibly lucky to have her. Thank you, Natsuki, for the wonderful memories!

We had a great time staying with Cristina & GB! We helped around the house and vineyard, and spent time with the dogs 🐕 Anna especially loved her cuddles with Tessa. They are very hospitable and generous hosts! The accommodation was fab, loads of space and our own kitchen. Cristina gave us lots of tips on things to do and see around the area and we really enjoyed riding the bikes to grab a bottle of prosecco from the nearby vineyards! Grazie mille Cristina & GB

Mike and his furry son Billy welcomed us very warmly from the moment we arrived. Mike took the time to teach us about New Zealand’s native flora and explain in detail the purpose behind every task we did. He would also tell us how the areas we were working on would look in a few years, which gave us extra motivation and helped us understand the importance of the project. Our tasks included removing native plants with their roots, dividing and replanting them, planting different species in designated areas, and working in the nursery when the weather was not favourable. Staying with Mike felt like spending time with family. We shared dinner together every day, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere, while at the same time he always respected our personal space. We felt truly comfortable and at home throughout our stay. One of the highlights was when Mike took us on a walk to see glowworms, which was a wonderful experience. Thank you so much, Mike and Billy, for this incredible week. It was an unforgettable experience, and we are very grateful to have been part of it.

Having Anina and Kevin in my life was truly the most amazing experience. They helped me cope with a very difficult life changing experience - my darling husband had to be admitted to a Care Facility and I couldn’t have gotten through without their kindness and support. We laughed and cried together and it was like saying goodbye to family when they left. I tried to hide their passports to keep them with me. I loved them and miss them and wish them a long and happy life together. They WILL come back to visit me Love them xxx

Amazing experience!!! Rolf is one of the most generous people I have met. He always do more than expected and make you feel at home. He is a very active member of his community and he show it with a lot of pride. Thanks to him I met many nice people and saw the real local life. The fjord, the mountains and the nature are just amazing. 🏔️🌊🐳 Two weeks was far too short! This was my best Workaway experience. Thank you for everything, Rolf. I hope to come back one day!!! 🤗💜🇳🇴

So great to have Ewa at the house to look after the place and work on the garden. She kept me regularly updated throughout her stay on her progress. Would be keen to have her come and stay again.

We stayed with Anne and John for just about 1 month. Their estate is, without a doubt, one of the most beautiful (if not the most) Workaways we have ever done. The view from the apartments and restaurant are breathtaking. The amount of thought, creative touch, and effort that went into designing and maintaining the grounds is evident. Our work was varied. Kevin did a lot of invasive tree removal around the buildings, clearing and rebuilding of some of the stone drainages in pathways, tree pruning, and general landscape maintenance. He also did some basic roof repairs on 2 structures to prevent a few loose panels from ripping off in the wind (and removed a dead wild animal from the ceiling of another). Other days were dedicated to chopping wood to use for cooking. Kevin also helped with some photography and registering the estate on Restor.eco in order to highlight some of the wildlife conservation and nature restoration work Anne and John have done over the years alongside the WNPS. When she was not cleaning, she helped Kamala in the kitchen. She also cleaned out, reorganized, and sorted contents of the cellar. Kamala prepared us 3 meals per day, which were wonderful and a diverse fusion of Sri Lankan and Western dishes. Anne was so kind as to ask Kamala to make Melissa a special meal one night as it was her birthday. The location is indeed a bit remote, but we loved the solitude. The bus stop on the road is about a 1km walk and we took the bus several times into Bandarawela. We also did some day hikes to Amba Estate, Ella Rock, and Roseland Coffee all from Anne and John's place. We truly enjoyed being away from the tourist crowds and spent many afternoons hanging out in the restaurant, enjoying its spectacular views over Ella Gap. The abundance of wildlife literally at the doorstep was a pastime in and of itself. Anne and John were gracious hosts and, as previous reviews suggested, told countless very entertaining stories at tea time. These conversations about life, culture, and the humorous and witty takes from John on a nonstop news cycle of current world affairs were one of the highlights of our stay. We also appreciated that expectations were made clear from the get-go, as we spent a few days seeing if the arrangement would work out for all parties (and fortunately it did!). We feel immensely grateful to John, Anne, Jesmin, Kanna, and the ladies in the kitchen, Kamala, Lakshimi and Lakshimai, for hosting and sharing a snippet of their lives with us. Melanie is a joyful , intelligent, and sensitiva person who has been with us long enough for us to be delightes by her company. She has been an excellent frech teacher for Pablo and has always been willing to learm everything -carpenter, mansonry- and participate enthusiastically in the project. She has been a wonderful colleague to the other volunteers, and we are sure she will return to our project when her busy life allows her a moment to visit us. However, we do hopw she quits smoking... I hope see you Mela !!!
