The time I spend on Younes farm was really beautiful. He had so much passion and knowledge for his work and the nature that it was impossible to not learn an appreciation for that as well. I spend around 10 days on the farm and I really learned a lot. I met many nice people there and there was a lot of room for learning about the Moroccan culture. I really can see that Younes has a vision with that project and I was really interesting to be a part of that Thank you for the nice time I would love to visit again :)

I had a wonderful time at Camilla’s place. The family is incredibly welcoming, and I learned so much about gardening during my stay. The work was varied and engaging, and we ended each day with delicious meals together. I am very grateful for my time there and would strongly recommend it to anyone interested.

We loved it at Ojo de Agua! We stayed for 3 weeks with Lane on his beautiful farm and had the best ever time. Lane is a generous host and embodies the spirit of workaway. Your days are spent doing whatever needs doing around the farm- we were watering, cutting up mangoes, sorting coffee, cutting firewood, building stairs, and more! Lane he works with you most of the time, and you are fed 3 meals a day (food is super yummy here!!). You are really living Lane’s life with him, and he is receptive to ideas, full of stories, and a good communicator so super easy to get on with. Lane also goes to town every 10 days so there is opportunities to go to the beach on those days. We also loved playing dominoes with Lane, hanging out with his dogs, and meeting Lane’s neighbours. This is a great place to go to take a bit of a break from travelling and feel looked after while staying busy! Muchos gracias Lane!

We had an incredible experience staying with Natacha and Quentin. They live in a beautiful, lush setting with a 360° view. Both the house and the garden are very warm and welcoming—just like the couple themselves. We laughed together, had deep conversations, and felt right at home. The daily tasks were varied. Although we had a lot of freedom in how we carried them out, Natacha and Quentin provided great guidance. We highly recommend this experience—it was amazing for us. Thank you again 🥰

I really appreciated having Saikal here with me. She stayed with me for more than one month and was a very good, responsible, and reliable Workawayer. She is capable of both physical and creative digital work. She helped with decorating, organizing, painting, and also assisted me with digital design, visuals, and social media tasks. She worked independently, was always willing to help, and maintained a positive and respectful attitude. She took excellent care of the dogs, cats, and other animals. While I was away, she managed the house completely on her own for two days. When I returned, I found everything clean, well-organized, and in perfect order, which I really appreciated. She is a kind-hearted person, easy to live with, and very cooperative. I am genuinely happy to have had her here, and I would absolutely recommend her to other hosts. She is always welcome back. 😊

After almost two months with Clare, Ben, Tilly and Bella, it’s hard to put this experience into words. What started as a Workaway quickly became a second home, and from day one I felt less like a guest and more like part of the family. ❤️ Clare is one of the kindest and most welcoming people I’ve ever met. She is incredibly generous, relaxed and always positive. From the very beginning, she placed a lot of trust in me, whether I was helping around the house, working in the garden, looking after the animals, or even taking care of their home while they were away on holiday. She simply trusted me to use my initiative and get on with things. Ben is just as warm and welcoming as Clare. Yes, his cooking is amazing, but what I’ll remember most are the evenings around the table—talking, laughing, playing games and enjoying each other’s company. Bella and Tilly are both wonderful—funny, clever and full of personality. Bella gave me the best tour of Pontevedra, and thanks to her I got to know the city really well. Tilly taught me how to make the best crêpes ever, although mine will probably never be as good as hers 😉. I was even lucky enough to join some of their private Spanish tutoring sessions, which helped me improve my Spanish and made me feel even more included. By the end of my stay, Bella and Tilly felt like the sisters I never had. I can wholeheartedly recommend staying with this family. Leaving after two months was much harder than I expected. Thank you all for an unforgettable experience—I miss you already and hope to see you again someday. 🌞

Lea war für neun Tage bei uns in der Dithmarscher Schweiz als Workawayer. Sie war für Birgit und mich eine absolute Bereicherung auf dem Hof. Wir hatten super schöne Zeit miteinander, sehr nette Gespräche und eine großartige Hilfe. ( Unser Katerle genoss die Streichel- und schmuseeinheiten sichtbar) Lea hat einen wunderschönen Flyer für unsere Hofparty ( 30 Jahre Baustelle 🤣 ) entworfen und gezeichnet. Auch wurde von ihr das große Stalltor mit Exenterschleifer und Flex komplett geschliffen. Lea ist eine tolle ,motivierte, tolerante und hilfsbereite Workawayerin und wird zu 100% von uns weiter empfohlen.

After a short contact, Rowan,Dino and Maggie Moo rocked up on my street.We agreed a week,they hooked up their wagon and stayed for 5. I was blessed.They came with a great set of skills and tools, in the busiest month of the gardening year,moving compost and digging holes.We also enjoyed a few trips to the wood and stocked up nicely. Rowan is a very cheerful singing person who tunes into all sounds of nature and closely observes little critters. She was very willing to help out at the hives and scrubbed up much beestuff.Dino also a singer likes to fix things and make music. Maggie is delightfully patient and playful. They took keen delight in getting to know the area, and were always complimentary about the food cooked which made it a pleasure to cook for them ,(veggie and lactose-free). It was a super spell with 'herself and himself'Rowan cracked me up teaching me her Welsh accent . Looking forward to meeting you guys another day into the future. Thanks muchly for making a huge contribution to a demanding sustainable lifestyle,xxxx

Slava s'est parfaitement intégré dans notre famille et a participé à beaucoup d'activités, il a fait énormément de progrès en Français durant son séjour, il a été serviable et respectueux. Je lui souhaite bonne continuation dans son périple!

Marius stayed with us as a Workaway volunteer and was a positive presence during his time here. He offered yoga classes for our guests and helped with food preparation for our New Year's Eve dinner. He is a calm, low-profile person who adapted well to the environment and was respectful of the house routines. Marius was reliable with the tasks he took on and willing to help when needed. We appreciated his contribution and wish him all the best in his future travels and projects.

I spent 3 wonderful weeks at Alexandra's cosy home and it felt like I was visiting a retreat center! It was my first Workawayer experience so I was a little anxious but everything went great. Although for half of the time I was sick, Alexandra was very understanding and I appreciated it a lot. Other than that, we went to a film festival and spent some relaxing time at a community farm that she is part of. I was cooking a lot `and she is a great cook as well!

Guilhem was very helpful. He always wants to know the details of a task to make sure he does it well and he always delivers! I left the house and when I came back I learned the chainsaw had broken down (not his fault absolutely) and I saw he had found another way to finish the task. He is smart and brilliant, he finds ways to do the tasks given to him. He is also nice to talk to, because he knows a lot and has his opinions about things. He is also open minded to understand other peoples' views. Fun to play board games with, he is also great around kids. Thank you for coming, talking about France, helping us. We would love to visist France and have you as a guide for us!

Flawie is such a kind person to be around. She is easy going, and you can relax in your own space, while she is with you. She helps out with everything you ask her for, and even takes corrections on her without starting to discuss. She writes she is open to learning new things and I can only say she is right. She learned a lot about practical skills but was also very open to exploring and seeing the day. I recommend Flawie to anyone:-)

La experiencia con Felipe y Valeria fue increible, a pesar de ser su primer voluntariado la tenían muy clara, muy trabajadores, creativos y dispuestos en todo momento a colaborar y adaptarse a cambios de última hora, nos ayudaron bastante a terminar y decorar unas cabañas que estábamos construyendo, también nos hicieron varias sugerencias para mejorar cosas en el Refugio, personas tranquilas y de muy buen humor, conversadores y con conocimientos en muchas cosas que aportan bastante, estábamos tan contentos con su voluntariado que les sugerimos que se quedaran mas tiempo. Gracias chichos por todo! les deseamos un muy buen resto de viaje!...

We were so fortunate to host Ava for a couple weeks. She has an admirable zest for life and lives with style. During her visit she built a rock bridge across the creek, helped extensively with trail work, painted a record for the music room, cooked or helped cook many meals, and we had to tear her away from the dishes from time to time. Ava is self-motivated and always goes above and beyond any expectations. We sincerely hope she finds her way back in the future!

I was only able to be at Sophie and Carlo’s for one week, but it was a week I’ll never forget and an amazing Workaway experience. Their land is stunning: there’s a river for swimming & relaxing beside, one of the most beautiful trees I’ve ever seen, the maximum amount of sunny daylight as earthly possible, and a wide open spaces that provide a peace I haven’t encountered anywhere. Sophie & Carlo themselves are incredibly kind, generous, thoughtful, and fun hosts! They’ve been in the guest role at other projects so they are oriented to making sure Workawayers are comfortable and enjoying their time. In the short time I was with them in Parí, I was invited to join a community dinner where I met others with land projects in the area, we had a beach day, I was provided a bike to visit the nearby hot springs as often as I wanted, and I got to join in some wine bottling that happened to be taking place. So the experiences were abundant in only 6 days and that was due to conscious effort & care by Sophie/Carlo!! I think this is an ideal Workaway for folks who really enjoy quiet time in nature and off grid living. I didn’t have much cell service but I think it was the carrier I had (WindTre) so ask Sophie/Carlo which carriers are best or use an ESIM that can find the best network. The lack of electricity & running water in the accommodation was different than my other experiences so that added a few extra steps to daily living but I didn’t mind it, and I know Sophie/Carlo plan to add those amenities in the future. I couldn’t recommend these hosts enough :)

[ 2 mois - mars / avril 2026] Une pépite de coloc’ ! Cet endroit compte beaucoup de mes meilleurs souvenirs du Québec : des humains magnifiques, qui manient l’art de vivre ensemble avec expérience et sagesse, de la bonne humeur et de la convivialité, une grande maison très vivante et assez extraordinaire, des paysages et de la nature super sympas tout autour ... J’ai adoré les activités que l’on a pu partager (qui, faites ensemble devenaient vraiment fun). Fabrication de kimchi, taille au verger, entretien et récolte à l’érablière, pêche et cuisine de myes (les coques locales !), fabrication d’un jeu de société en bois (avec le soutien d’Iko) ... entrecoupées de randonnées enneigées, de karaokés ou autres sessions musicales, de jeux de société, de réunions de qualité, de party de sucre collantes et joyeuses (merci Loulou !), et de party tout court, de bons repas préparés avec amour et générosité ... Séjourner ici m’a permis de rencontrer tellement de jolies personnes et amis, de plonger dans la vie québécoise en si peu de temps. Le réseau est si vaste et renommé que c'était un appui solide et précieux pour nombre de mes autres expériences et voyages par la suite, que ce soit à Kamouraska, aux Iles de la Madeleine ou autres. Ça transforme complètement le voyage. Un immense merci à tous et longue vie à cette magnifique communauté 🩷
