Hi!
My name is Marijn. I'm 27 years old and I live in the Netherlands. Curiosity, positivity and kind-hearted are words that describe me. I love meeting new people and find it easy to make connections. My friends also think I've humor, but I often don't notice it myself :) Must be a natural sense of humor then! Nature always feels like my second home: being in the mountains, close to the sea or in the forest gives me lots of energy and joy. This has always been part of my upbringing, and probably got stronger when living in Norway for five years: being outside every day, breathing in the fresh air and becoming an expert in "bad weather doesn't exist, only bad clothes do"...
In the past 27 years I've visited several countries and experienced different cultures. I believe meeting each other, learning from each other and helping each other brings us all greater understanding of the world and the all the people we share it with :)
In The Netherlands I work as a communication consultant, which I enjoy. My day is filled with writing strategies, organizing events, updating social media and launching campaigns. All concerning societal issues. However I believe perhaps a job as a primary- or secondary school teacher might be written in the stars for me ... The idea of teaching them skills and being of value everyday warms my heart. Something I will explore further, hopefully already during a Workaway ;)
I also love doing sports, being creative and meeting friends: you can see me running in the park, having a coffee stroll with friends or crocheting scarfs and mitten while listening to music.
I'm more than excited to join Workaway and I'm already looking forward to contributing to wonderful projects.
