My stay here far surpassed any expectations I may have had. Harshit and his family were so welcoming, and I learned soooooo much about earth building, and forest living in India. We exchanged in a way that felt genuine and connecting, surrounded by beautiful nature. And I have so much respect for the vision and mission of connecting people and keeping indigenous practices and culture alive. This is a truly beautiful place.

Prashant and his family were very welcoming, accommodating and honest about what was expected. we had many fascinating conversations and I learned so much in a beautiful setting. if you are a birder, a digital nomad, or in need of a peaceful place, this is a beautiful place!

Alison and her fellow compagnons welcomed me as a member of the house and I immediately felt comfortable in this new environment. Lots of flexibility thanks to the easy going way of life that characterizes Alison. It was my first time that I was living in small farm and Alison took time to explain to me how things worked and what the daily chores were so that I can be more spontaneous about the work (and she's counting on it trust me). I was moved by her bond with her two horses and especially with Layton the poney. Lots of love and warmth between the two of them. Jersew is such a sweet dog. Beautiful and peaceful property, surrounded by trees and different kind of birds where you can also have exciting conversations with Alison who is a piece of woman with a unique sens of humor (probably because her British roots).

What an amazing experience! This family has built something truly special, on land that was already beautiful in of itself. I spent two weeks with them and each day was something new and fun. I can assure you there is good food, good music, good experiences, and good people to be found here. Some of the "work" I did was clearing trails while hiking on their property, making a rock bridge in the creek, helping with the chicken coop, and some light gardening. All very enjoyable and hands on task. The overall environment is very welcoming and relaxed. They also have a multitude of tools and craft supplies for creative endeavors. Wonderful memories and friends were made here and I will definitely be back.

My stay with Andrea was really nice and I would definitely recommend to spend some nice days with her and all the animals. The work was not strictly scheduled, just kinda live and help which was really pleasant. Andrea was really helpful with everything that I needed when she could help. The place is big and beautiful so you will always find to chill alone when needed. Very much recommend, Thanks <3

Amazing immersive experience in a beautiful village area! Janaka, the owner of the organisation has gone to great lengths to keep the schools running and you can see his passion for teaching. My host family at Pramudi’s was unforgettable where they treated me like family from the day I arrived. You will play volleyball and explore the beautiful waterfalls nearby Butalla in between your classes which is a great way to break up the day. During my time there i was invited to a wedding and got to celebrate the Buddhist new year making sweets and playing lots of games with the village and my host family! As other comments have said, initiative in making homeschooling classes with students is integral as due to Janaka running the foundation by himself he doesn’t have the time to message you everyday regarding your classes. Whilst this may take a bit to adapt to it makes your schedule work better for you. The students are eager to learn and the families have an immense gratitude for your help with them showering you in sweets and fruit on your homeschooling. I only stayed for 3 weeks but I will definitely be back and I could not recommend this volunteer role enough if you want to make a positive impact in local lives and have a truly culturally enriching experience.

Anna has been a wonderful addition to our team, bringing positive energy, warmth, and a naturally social personality to the hostel. A true social butterfly, she has a gift for making people feel welcome, and her accent only adds to her charm. During her time with us, Anna hosted a variety of our weekly activities such as hikes, braai nights, games nights, and movie nights and market visits. She was always willing to jump in and assist wherever needed. She connected effortlessly with guests, helped create a fun and inclusive atmosphere, and worked exceptionally well alongside both her fellow volunteers and the hostel team. Anna's friendly nature, strong teamwork skills, and willingness to help made her a valued part of our volunteer programme. We are grateful for the enthusiasm and positivity she brought to the hostel and wish her all the best in her future adventures.

My experience with Brigitte and Alois was wonderful. I learned many new things, spent time with the animals, and had unforgettable experiences in the beautiful Rocky Mountains. I can highly recommend it to anyone who wants to take a break from everyday life, enjoy nature, and be surrounded by animals. Thank you both for everything! :) Best regards, Franz

Niamh was an absolute pleasure to have as part of the community. From the moment she arrived, she brought a beautiful energy to the land and to everyone around her. She consistently offered her support wherever it was needed, always willing to lend a hand with a positive attitude and genuine care. Beyond the practical help she provided, Niamh contributed something much deeper through her presence, kindness, and unique magic. She supported not only the projects and day-to-day tasks on the land, but also the wider community, creating meaningful connections and helping others feel welcomed and supported. Her communication was excellent throughout her stay. She was reliable, thoughtful, proactive, and easy to coordinate with, making her a wonderful person to work alongside. Whether helping with tasks, contributing ideas, or simply showing up with a willingness to help. We are incredibly grateful for everything she contributed during her time here. She left a positive impact on both the land and the people here, and we would happily welcome her back. Niamh to any future host looking for a caring, capable, and community-minded volunteer.

Laura and I had a wonderful stay with Debra and Eric! We had the chance to housesit for them and take care of their huge, conniving cat Benji while they went camping. Their neighborhood is adorable and within easy walking distance of downtown Whitefish. We had plenty of time to explore the town and nearby Glacier while we were there. Debra and Eric are wise, respectful people who were a real joy to get to know. They both have lots of emotional intelligence and helped Laura and I feel welcome right away. We can't recommend them enough if you happen to find yourself in Northwest Montana!

We had such an amazing month with Gilly and Dianna. It was hard to leave 🥲 They are really kind and funny people with a big heart. We had a stay full of lessons, beautiful discussions and sharings! Thanks to them, we have learned so much about indigineous culture and traditions! We were lucky to be able to help to prepare and attend to two sweat lodge. During our stay we helped them with various tasks around the house: mowing the lauwn, painting the bathroom, the office and the garden tables, a lot of cooking, house cleaning, weeding and watering around the garden, some IT stuffs, and preparations for the lodges. We really enjoyed to help in many ways 🤗 Thank you so much for everything, we are truly grateful 🙏 Aho Penelope and Antoine

I've stayed 7 days here, that seemed short if I analyse by the will I had to stay longer but if I take by the amount of things accomplished and connections made it looked like a long and solid experience! I'm really happy to have met the people I met and for the things I learned. The environment is really free from and for both sides (workawayer and host) to express feelings, make mistakes and express points of view and ideas. Food was delicious as each day someone took the effort to please the others with great vegeterian meals cooked with great ingredients provided by the hosts. Big thank you ! Congrats for the determination and courage on this entrepreneurship and long life to this place!

Toujours souriants, respectueux des autres, curieux et plein d'énergie pour faire avancer les choses ! Seul bémol, nous n'avons pas réussi à les adopter ! Au plaisir de se recroiser en France ou dans d'autres bouts du monde !

I've had the most wonderful experience spending time with Julia, Don, and Kairos. I stayed with them for about 3 weeks, and it has genuinely been the most valuable experience of my 3-month trip through Peru. I spent my mornings with Kairos, a very curious and energetic boy with a kind heart. He also has very big emotions, which you'll have to learn to handle the right way. He loves to play and learn, and overall, he's very sweet, loving, and innocent. I'm grateful that I had the opportunity to be a part of his life for this short time, and hopefully I brought a (lasting) positive influence :) In the afternoon, I was free to do whatever I wanted, and the majority of the time I would choose to spend time with the family (they're super fun to hang out and spend time with). We would go to Tarapoto, play games, go swimming, or do any other activity that came up. During the weekend, I also had the ability to choose to do my own thing, or I could join them in their jungle cabin. I chose to join them on the weekends, obviously ;) which I very much enjoyed. The jungle is magical and healing, and I loved hanging out at the cabin, going down to the river, exploring, and having meaningful conversations. Julia and Don are both very kind, open, and honest people with good hearts. I felt truly and completely safe and cared for, and I could tell they only had good intentions. In the time I stayed with them, we really connected and became close, and they've become very special to me. Words cannot describe the value they have brought into my life. They are full of wisdom and light, and they've provided me with the most incredible experiences and life teachings, which I didn't even know I needed until life brought us together. I definitely recommend staying with them, and when you do, open yourself up to new experiences, join them in whatever activity, and make the most of your time there. I have learned so much in these weeks, had the most incredible eye opening experiences, and gained a new perspective on life. Thank you guys so much!!

Thank you Raphi & Nick for those two wonderful weeks!! Yamba and surroundings is beautiful. My personal highlight was definitely Raphi’s world-class AUSTRIAN cooking - felt like home :) The guest room was nice and spacious. My work was mostly helping in the garden and around the house - with a very flexible schedule!! The boys and Marlee are fun to hang out with - there is never a dull moment haha!! Also, Raphi took me to farmer’s markets and the Ashby solstice party - which I really enjoyed!! Thank you and hopefully we’ll see each other again - maybe in Vienna!!

Lucie and Zoe were truly special volunteers, and hosting them was a wonderful experience. They brought so much kindness, positivity, and warmth to our hostel that they quickly became part of our family. They were responsible, hardworking, and always willing to help, but what made them stand out most was the genuine energy they brought every day. They connected naturally with guests, contributed to a great atmosphere, and left a positive impact on everyone around them. We are incredibly grateful for the time we shared with them and will always remember them fondly. They will always be welcome here, and we wholeheartedly recommend them to any future host. We wish them nothing but happiness and amazing adventures ahead. ❤️

Iris is a quiet girl. She is polite and tidy and was very self contained. We had another french girl with us and they became very close quickly which in some ways was a barrier to getting to know her more fully as she was somewhat shy to settle. Her work was good. She tried to make the best job she could. She was good at asking for direction when needed. In all Iris was a lovely girl. We were sad to see her leave us earlier than expected. Thanks for the help Iris and good luck on your travels.

Karina was a wonderful volunteer and a truly positive presence at this hostel. She was kind, responsible, and always willing to help wherever needed. Her friendly personality made it easy for guests and team members to feel comfortable around her. Throughout her stay, she showed commitment, a great attitude, and genuine care for the hostel community. We really enjoyed having her with us and appreciated everything she contributed during her time here. We are grateful for the opportunity to host Karina and would happily recommend her to any future host. We wish her all the best in her future travels and adventures.
