We are looking for good and patient volunteers who would help us and especially our two teenage children with knowledge of the English language, or with the household and garden, with walking our three kind-hearted friendly dogs, etc. We are looking forward to a cultural exchange, become part of our family!
We are a family living in a family house in a small town in central Bohemia, 60 km from the capital city of Prague. I am 43 years old, my husband is 45 years old, my daughter is 17 years old and my son is 13 years old. We are happy to advise you on traveling around the Czech Republic, exploring the natural and cultural monuments of our beautiful little country, or where to go for cultural life.
We often spend our free days at our log cabin in South Bohemia, where you are also cordially invited.
Both children need to improve their English /just like us 😊/. We will be happy to host someone who will help us with English or lend a helping hand around the house. I am a teacher, I am currently ill for a long time, I would greatly appreciate help in the house, in the garden and with walking and playing with our three dogs. We have a labrador, a flat coated retriever and a jack russel terrier, non-conflicting, friendly and grateful animal companions. Grandma and grandpa also live with us in the two-generation family house.
As needed and by mutual agreement, we welcome help with "DIY" and maintenance work around our house and on our log cabin / e.g. building a new fence, painting, gardening, etc./ The husband works a demanding shift and has little time.
We can offer one spare room and shared use of our kitchen, sanitary facilities and living rooms, unlimited WiFi, bicycle rental for exploring the surroundings, at least two free days per week by mutual agreement, it does not have to be exclusively Saturday and Sunday.
We would like our children to learn to communicate in English and not be shy. We think it is very important for their future life and we are not doing very well. If we could find someone who would be willing to spend more time with our ADD son and get him more interested in physical activities and different sports, that would be a great asset to us.
In short, we will very much welcome the new members of our family and get to know other cultural customs. I can't travel now because of my health, so we invite travelers to our home!

We are a typical Czech family. We will be happy to introduce you to our culture, folk customs and cuisine. We can help plan sightseeing trips or we can travel together.

Arbeit
We welcome a young woman, girl or young couple who will enjoy spending quality time doing activities with our teenage children, who would speak English with them if possible. We will ask you to cooperate in our family life /help with ordinary household cleaning such as vacuuming, dusting, cooking, washing dishes/. If you feel like going for a walk with one of our dogs or trying DIY in our garden, it will be nice. It's all about the deal, you can choose what you'd like to help with.
We cannot offer any salary or help with citizenship. Unfortunately, we do not have the capacity for that.

Single or double room. You can use the shared bathroom and kitchen, living areas and garden just like every member of our household.

In our small town, you will experience the peaceful life of a small Czech town and countryside. Here you will find several grocery stores, a pastry shop, a pub, a boutique, a stationery store, a fitness center, a post office, and a museum. Nature is only a few minutes away on foot, we are surrounded by forests and small villages. There are several bus stops here. It is only about 3 km from us to the edge of the protected landscape area of Brdy, where, in addition to hiking, you can collect edible forest fruits or visit the ruins of Valdek Castle. In warm weather, you can swim in the nearby water dams. The nearest church is located 3 km away in the village of Mrtník.
The nearest town is 5 km from us, where you can find everything that city life has to offer and from where you can travel further in the Czech Republic by train.
Cultural monuments in the immediate vicinity are Točník Castle, the ruins of Valdek Castle, the Újezd partisan shelter, the new and old Hořovice Castle.
The capital Prague is 60 km away, the journey can be made by bus and train.

Our log cabin is located in a small village in South Bohemia, where apart from the houses there is nothing but a small grocery store, a pub and a football field 😊. There are only forests, fields and meadows in the vicinity, and a number of cultural monuments and towns with lively cultural activity are within driving distance. The area around the log cabin is very suitable for cycling and many cyclists still pass by our log cabin 😊. In the winter months, we go skiing from here to the Kašperské Hory, 40 km away.

Platz zum Abstellen von Camper Vans
Unfortunately, the motor home will not fit in our garden, it would have to remain standing behind the fence in the adjacent street, or you can "camp" on our small meadow on the edge of the neighboring village, 1 km away. However, a car without a trailer can fit in our garden and a medium-sized tent will fit in our garden 😊. If we are at our holiday cabin, you can park and camp in the garden of our log cabin without difficulty.
