  Hi! We are preparing to open (hopefully later this year) a small retreat in a beautiful rural location, 600m above sea level in the heart of the Stara Planina Mountains, close to Tryavna, Central Bulgaria. We are looking for an extra pair of hands to help us finish off our projects and help with our friendly dogs. Help includes jobs such as: Fencing, Painting windows, Applying wood treatment to Deck & other outdoor timber, Gardening, Pool Maintenance, Cleaning etc.
  We are not ready to open or operating as a business yet, but are hoping to start later this year, subject to getting everything finished off and travel restrictions being eased.

  Our Retreat is located in a friendly, traditional Bulgarian village with more goats and sheep than residents!
  The local market town of Tryavna is only 15 mins drive/bus journey away and boasts one of Bulgaria's best preserved town square from the Revival period, a strong woodworking and icon painting tradition and beautiful natural surroundings. Tryavna is classic Bulgaria in a nutshell. Our neighbouring village, 10 mins walk, has a variety of shops, outdoor olympic size swimming pool, tennis court, train station etc.
  Sally is a clinical nutritionist and if you're interested in eating/learning about healthy food, she loves sharing her food and knowledge!
  This area is seriously "undiscovered" you will see for yourself how locals live and to this day, are very self sufficient. Many keep their own sheep, goats, chickens, horses and most utilise as much of their land as possible to grow fruits and vegetables.

  Arbeit

  No specific skills required but someone who flexible, is happy to take instructions and happy to help us with anything we are doing! Most of the time you will be working together with us but occasionally be expected to work alone. Tasks include: Cleaning windows, cleaning interior of house including bathrooms, kitchen, floors, oven, fridge, microwave, workstops, ironing, making beds, washing & ironing, occasional meal prep... basically, help with anything we do! We plan to replace a fence and do some exterior painting, treat the wooden decks etc. Hence our request for help! We hope you will join us and be part of a very active, small team.

  Unterkunft

  Accommodation: staying local to the Retreat in a comfortable room with bathroom. Accommodation will be offered onsite until the Retreat is ready to start operating. An example of the standard/ type of room/bathroom available is represented in the photographs. We are flexible & happy to discuss various options around food/meals, to best suit your needs and flexible with some time off so you can go off and explore!

  Was noch ...

  This is a great area to set off hiking or cycling from the door to explore the local area. An area renown for its clear air and natural beauty that is unspoilt by mass tourism. Tryavna boasts many interesting cultural experiences and holds a local market once a week, there is a regular shuttle bus from the next village. The bustling former Capital of Bulgaria & University town, Veliko Tarnovo is only an hour away by train - a great day out, with plenty to do and see there.
  Outdoor olympic size pool and tennis court in the next village (10-15 walk away).
  Dryanovo monastery "St. Archangel Michael", Fortress remains & Bacho Kiro cave only 30k away.
  The town of Gabrovo is 15km away and The Monument House of the Communist Party, "Buzludzha" on Buzludzha Peak is only a short distance from Gabrovo and well worth a visit.
