Beschreibung
We are in the process of establishing an animal-assisted therapy center for children with disabilities in Windhoek. Our idyllic farm is home to lovely dogs, lazy cats, very cute miniature horses, two horses, affectionate donkeys, and the cuddly-looking alpacas Puschel, Wuschel, and Kuschel. There's also a playful "circus" goat named Putzi, alongside numerous tortoises, rabbits, and guinea pigs.
Our farm is an ideal haven for those who have a deep appreciation for nature and animals, and who are passionate about contributing to the well-being of children with disabilities from economically challenged families in Namibia. There is a refreshing pool which can be used together with the children or just for your own enjoyment.
Please note that, as our project relies solely on donations, we kindly ask you to arrange for your own meals. We offer access to our kitchen, and approximately twice a week, we can go together to the supermarket. In exchange for about 2-3 hours of assistance with farm tasks, we provide free accommodation. Your support is invaluable to us, and we look forward to welcoming you to our meaningful endeavor.
We prefer people to stay with us for 2-3 weeks.Arten von Hilfe und Lernmöglichkeiten

Kultureller Austausch und Lernmöglichkeiten
You can relax in a beautiful natural surrounding, enjoying the time with our friendly animals and learning about the difficult lives of families with children with disabilities who never got any previous support.
We have San Bushmen residing on our farm who make ends meet by offering two-hour Bushman Walks. During these walks, visitors have the opportunity to delve into their ancient wisdom and almost extinct hunters & gatherers lifestyle. For those interested, you can book a walk with them, exploring different plants, fire-making techniques, and various cultural aspects.Projekte mit Kindern
Dieses Projekt schließt möglicherweise den Umgang mit Kindern ein. Mehr Informationen findest du in unseren Verhaltensregeln und Tipps hier.
Arbeit
We would love for you to spend time with our animals, offering cuddles and perhaps even participating in their training. Alternatively, you can simply enjoy the company of our inquisitive alpacas. Your assistance with typical farm tasks such as cleaning the paddocks, grooming the animals, and providing food and water would be greatly appreciated. Please also lend a hand with household chores, such as sweeping the floor, as the house tends to accumulate dirt quite easily.
Our physically and mentally challenged children attend from Monday to Friday, and you are encouraged to visit them in the therapy houses at your convenience. You will experience the immense happiness of our children as a response to your interaction with them.Gesprochene Sprachen

Inside our red brick farmhouse we have a beautiful room for volunteers and guests. It is a big room with two beds and attached bathroom, We have additional space in a caravan or a family tent which is in our thatched lapa (living room) whith a typical Namibian indoor-braai (fireplace for barbecue). We will share the kitchen and you are welcome to use our refreshing pool.

When we head to town, you're welcome to join us in Windhoek, where an abundance of malls and shopping facilities awaits. If you feel the need for a break from the remote farm life, immerse yourself in the vibrant city atmosphere. For those seeking a safari experience, we can drop you off at Okapuka Farm, a mere 10 km away, where giraffes, zebras, rhinos, and crocodiles roam freely in the wild. Additionally, there are nearby hiking and riding opportunities at Elisenheim Guestfarm.

I’ve learnt a lot from Nicole (always so kind...) Julie (one of a kind. She speaks 3 languages and is so clever, brilliant, funny, independent, SPECIAL), the animals (all cuteness from Felix, Pritty, Prince, Boomy, Melodie, Cutie, Jeronimo, Jenny, Florina, Fredolin and so on!!
