We are currently setting up an animal supported therapy center for disabled children in Windhoek. On our beautiful farm we have already three lovely dogs, two very cute miniature horses - Fridolin and Florina - , a rideable mare called Melody and two goats Schnucki and Putzi. More animals will follow soon!
In the coming weeks we want to built different shelters for the animals and a kitchen cupboard for our workers house to be able to employ soon a local family. Furthermore help might be needed when we order a playground and a summer bobsled. Also the constructing of a swimming pool will start soon so that we will be also able to offer hydrotherapy. At the beginning of 2021 the first disabled children will be able to spend time on our farm - benefitting from our various therapy programs. But even before we will start with community work for families with disabled children in the slum area of Windhoek.
We would be happy if you want to spend time with our animals, cuddling them and maybe even training them a bit. You can help also with typical farm chores like cleaning the paddock, brooming the animals or giving them food and water.
Our farm is the right place for people who love the nature and animals (you can see and hear the ostriches and peacocks of our neighbour) and are interested in helping disabled children from very poor families in Namibia!
Remarks: Later on we will build a canteen on our farm which would cater not only for the children but also for the volunteers. But until then we would like to ask you to care for your own meals as due to COVID-19 we are also struggling a bit as donations became less. You can use our kitchen and due to this matter we only would ask you for about 3 hours help against free accomodation.

This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.
You can relax in a very quiet natural surrounding, enjoying the time with our friendly animals and learning about the difficult life of families with disabled children who never got any previous support. As soon as the first children will join our programm you will experience the immense happiness which your interaction with them will bring to you.
During the setting-up of our farm my daugther (7) and me would be happy to enjoy your company! You may help in keeping the paddock clean - however it is easy work as our horses roam free during the day. If you are having horse skills or you are just good with dogs you are most welcome to spend as much time as you want with our animals. Help inside the farm house like cleaning or cooking is also welcomed but not mandatory. Actually we will be just happy to share stories with you and having you with us! Other possible taks may vary from time to time, maybe soon we will need to fix our playground or a summer bobsled from Austria on our farm - so just be open for any positive surprises! As we are situated in a semi-desert landscape in the Khomas Highland our plants do not need much water, but if you think they feel dirsty, don't hesitate to help them out with a small bucket of water ;-)

Inside our red brick farmhouse we have two beautiful rooms for volunteers and guests. One with two single-beds and attached bathroom and the other with double bed and great views. We will share the kitchen and there is also a huge thatched lapa where we can sit together and even enjoying the typical Namibian way of life with our indoor-braai (fireplace for barbecue).
Whenever we drive to town (15 km, during school time every day) you are able to join us for roaming around in Windhoek where you will find plenty of malls and shopping facilities. So if you need a break from the remote farmlife just dive into the busy city life. If you want to do a safari, we can drop you at Okapuka Farm as it takes hardly 10 km from us where giraffes, rhinos and crocodiles are roaming in the wild almost freely. There are also nearby hiking and riding possibilites at Elisenheim Guestfarm.
