Where to begin? I just spent about 10 weeks in Aubrac with Cyril and Lisette and it has been a wonderful parenthesis in my many months of travel!
The work is simple, clearly communicated and even though I was there at a busy time and worked a lot, I never felt overwhelmed and always had time to relax. I would prepare and serve breakfast, then
… read more clean the rooms (alone if only a few, or with Lisette if there were many) and since I have restaurant experience, I also helped with serving dinner to the guests. The house is stunning and full of character and the room I stayed in was cozy and had everything I needed. Most of the guests were also very kind and curious, so it's a great place if you're looking to improve your French.
If you need a lot of entertainment, Aubrac might not be the place for you. However, if you're looking for somewhere to recharge your batteries and slow down, it is a wonderful place to be! I enjoyed running daily on the beautiful trails around the house, doing yoga in the loft, reading in the garden, cooking in the huge kitchen and having the time to plan the next leg of my journey.
Overall, I cannot recommend this place enough! Cyril and Lisette were such welcoming hosts, it is a real gem in a lesser known part of France. If you have the opportunity to spend some time with them, do it!

… read more work in that unique buildung! Cyril and Lizette both have a nice way of decorating and combinig things. There was such a nice atmosphere! I met very friendly travellers, too who made me learn a lot about the region of Aubrac, about their home towns and the french language.
Depending on the weather, I had enough time to walk the walking paths nearby and Cyril was always willing to pick me up somewhere, if I wanted to walk a bit longer. Cyril is very easy-going and teaches you many things about his business. We had a lot of fun together with their friends Stephane and Stephanie! I felt all in all very comfortable in Aubrac and would recommend everyone to meet Cyril and Lizette and a beautiful region in France; Aubrac! (With beautiful cows!)Vom Host für Workawayer (Mia)

The two months I spent in Aubrac were an incredible parenthesis of my life. It was my first workaway experience, so I didn’t really know what to expect, but everything went perfectly. … read more and Lizette and I never felt under pressure while I was learning the different activities I had to do. The job is on average 3/4 hours long every morning, but it really depends on the day, so some days can be more tiring than others, but it’s really easy to get the hang of it. Aubrac is a wonderful village surrounded by nature (and plenty of cows). There is really little to do in terms of shops or tourist attractions, but I never felt bored during my two months there because every afternoon I could go for walks in different and beautiful places, such as the lake or nearby villages. The room is pretty small, but really quiet and with everything needed. As far as cooking is concerned, I was very happy to have the huge B&B’s kitchen at my disposal whenever I wanted. I am really thankful for the opportunity I had to spend my summer in Aubrac, and getting to know everyone was great: from the people I worked with to all the guests of the B&B, everyone was extremely nice and kind to me. As my first workaway, the experience in Aubrac couldn't have been better!
I spent almost 1 month here in June. I took care of breakfast and then cleaned the bedrooms. I really enjoyed my work and never felt overwork. It was also my first time living in a village, and Aubrac met all my expectations of a naturally beautiful village. Everything here
… read more shows the natural beauty with quietness and comfort. I enjoyed landscapes and nature of Aubrac.
Meanwhile, I met lots of lovely guests and passersby, yes everyone here was very friendly and respectful. Not to mention that Cyrill and Lizette are super nice hosts. They are sooooo kind to me. I was also influenced by their aesthetic of life and seriousness about their work. They also provided me with very nice accommodations with separte and private bathroom, and plenty of food. I felt very comfortable with my living situation.
I also helped out at the restaurant a few times during my stay, and Chef Stephen(he cooks superb food) is also a really friendly and interesting guy!
Anyway, anyway, I am so lucky to work and live here and I'm super enjoying!

The people I lived with and worked with were really kind and respectful, I felt very comfortable with my living situation, there were no issues. Aubrac is also simply a beautiful place to spend time in, though only if you enjoy being in a very small place, surrounded by nature (and cows). I couldn’t have wished for a better experience for my first workaway.

One of Bansi's many great qualities is that he is always eager to help and always with a positive attitude.
Another of Bansi's many skills is cooking. He is a fantastic cook and he was very kind to share many Indian dishes with us and very generous in showing me some of his recipes. He also shared his gardening skills and helped us with our garden and our basil patch which I started with Emily, our former workawayer. He also shared his math knowledge and tutored our son in math with admirable patience.
Hosting Bansi was truly a delightful experience. There are not enough words to describe our gratitude and appreciation for Bansi.

My work was super easy and intresting,cyril and lizzet always be there to help ,never feel overwork or hard . The place aubarc is spacial with full of diffrent landscap and nature, plantly of tracks to walk and discover places. I had cute room with separte and private bathroom,that maintain your full privacy , internet work fine.I vistated espalion and rodez with them , its intresting to visit bracon(place to find vintage articals) with lizzet ,she also has vintage cloths good to discover old faishon. Cyril has good test in vine and champine ,if are new to french wine he can suggest you planty. You will have full freedom to cook,either you can cook by yourself ,they really care that you have all ingredants to cook, or you can eat with them. Their house is always open for workawayers.
I mostly eat with them and after food teasan and chocolate i missing it now .

… read more pilgrims in the mornings and practice speaking french doing so! I had meals alone most days by my own choice as I like to eat at certain times but I was always welcomed to eat with them at their place and when I did the food was always yummy.
The surrounding area is truly special and I had plenty of free time every day to go on walks, borrow the bike to cycle and Lisette and I often visited nearby towns to search through brocantes for treasures :) We also practiced yoga together, and had so many great conversations about politics, society and yoga.
The bedroom is small and simple with a private bathroom adjacent and an open loft outside the room connected where I could practice yoga and have internet.
All in all I am really grateful to have shared time with this family in their beautiful home and I recommend all other workawayers to come and discover Aubrac!
