We're a laid-back, cozy hostel in Vienna, Austria. We've been around since 1968 and we are currently the best rated hostel in the city! Located just a 15 minutes walk from beautiful Schönbrunn Palace and just around the corner from famous shopping avenue Mariahilferstrasse.
We are a big international family coming from all around the world, speaking English, German, Spanish, French, Portuguese, and more.. :) We take care about each other and we will take care about you.
Our hostel has a guest kitchen and laundry service, a beautiful garden, musical instruments and plenty of good vibes. :)
We offer you free accommodation, free laundry once a week, free bike rental, discount at the hostel bar, discounts on local restaurants and optional health insurance.

Over the years we have become really good friends and that is one of the reasons for the good atmosphere and team work at the reception. We care for each other, have fun together and it really feels like a big family! That is how you will be treated as well. Be part of our wonderful hostel tribe and get to know the hostel business from the inside, experience hospitality and meet people from all over the world and gather experience in one of Europe’s first and most famous hostels.

Arbeit
The workawayers will be expected to work around 30 hours per week supporting the cleaning team, the reception, the kitchen and the bar, help with renovation projects, organizing evening events with the guests, such as quiz nights, cooking and games with guests. Shifts will be arranged together with the other workawayers with some flexibility.
For a cozy get-together and getting to know other people and travelers.
If you are an easygoing, communicative, happy smiling person, that like traveling, meeting other people and want to visit Vienna, be well-organized and stay calm in stressful / tricky and unfamiliar situations, keep the overview and can act in a structured manner, but also take care and accept others, you will be very welcome!
There will also be nightshifts at the reception, you support the cleaning staff with preparing beds and cleaning, the breakfast-shift with cleaning and whashing the dishes, support the Bar-Shift in the evening and help with renovation projects in house and gardens.
We start different projects now and then - for this we need people who have their own ideas and who enjoy working together to implement them...
Payment is EUR 8,- for every working hour

We are happy to help our workawayers to learn the basics of the local language.

A bed in a 4-bed dormitory (which you share with the other workawayers) . There is a kitchen in the common area, where you can prepare your own breakfast and meals. There are washing machines and dryers, which you can use.

Take one of our bicycles (for free) and explore Vienna on the bike, visit Vienna's sights, visit the National Park (Lobau-Donau-Auen), go swimming in the Danube,... enjoy and feel free!
In Winter, Vienna's Christmas-markets are amazing!
