Beschreibung
Hi,
We’re Maja and Tim, and since 2025 we’ve been living in a house with a large garden just outside the village of Hölö, about an hour from central Stockholm. We live in a rural setting surrounded by forests and grazing fields, but at the same time it’s only about a 1 km walk to Hölö, where you’ll find a grocery store and bus connections to places like Södertälje and Stockholm. There are also several swimming spots within cycling distance. Within about 10 km, there are plenty of interesting places to explore, both cultural and natural, including castles, cultural centres, seaside beaches, and several nature reserves.
Maja is a gardener (and doula) and works part-time in a park about 30 minutes away. Tim is an environmental scientist working with regional development and projects. We live with our daughter Millie (2 years old), and Tim’s children Eja and Arvin (16 and 12), who sometimes stay with their mother.

Kultureller Austausch und Lernmöglichkeiten
We’d love to share some meals together and go on outings in the local area from time to time. During the summer, there are various activities and events nearby, such as small concerts, festivals, and other cultural gatherings.
Maja can share her knowledge of gardening, and Tim can help with that as well. Tim has also spent many years renovating houses and has experience with carpentry and DIY projects. We speak Swedish, English, German, and a little French, so if you’d like to practise Swedish or German, we’d be happy to help.
Tim was born in Germany, grew up in Belgium, and has lived in Sweden for the past 20 years. We really enjoy meeting people from different countries and cultures. Tim also works on international projects and regularly meets people from across Europe. We’d love to learn more about other cultures too—for example through food, traditions, and everyday life.
Projekte mit Kindern
Dieses Projekt schließt möglicherweise den Umgang mit Kindern ein. Mehr Informationen findest du in unseren Verhaltensregeln und Tipps hier.

Arbeit
We have a dog and a cat. In the past, we’ve also had chickens, bee hives and sheep, but we’d love some help looking after the garden so that we can eventually have a vegetable garden and animals again. We enjoy gardening and small building projects around the house, and would be happy to have help with those as well.
Our hope is to do many things together and learn with and from each other. Depending on the time of year and our work schedules, there may also be times when you’ll work on gardening or other projects on your own, but always after we’ve talked through what needs to be done and how.

At home, we normally speak Swedish with each other, but if you're interested in learning or practising Swedish or German, we're happy to adapt and include you in those languages. It's also great for the children to get used to switching between languages and to practise speaking English as well.
Unterkunft
At the moment, we can offer accommodation in a caravan with space for two people. It has two beds, a small kitchen with a two-burner stove, a fridge, and a toilet. You are also welcome to use the bathroom in the house for showers and laundry.
We try to buy organic and sustainable products whenever possible, but due to limited availability we can’t always stick to that strictly. When we share meals, we imagine cooking together in the house or having barbecues outside. At the same time, we also value having some family time of our own, so there will be certain meals that we eat separately. During those times, you can prepare your own meals in the caravan, and if needed, you’re welcome to use the kitchen in the house as well.
Was noch ...
If you’re interested in coming to stay with us, we can tell you more about current tasks and also about activities and events in the area that might be relevant and fun to take part in.

We also have space for parking a caravan or mobile home, and we can provide access to electricity. There is also the possibility to refill drinking water, as well as access to WiFi.

Hier sind Haustiere in der Regel willkommen
It’s fine to come with a dog. Our dog, a female, is used to meeting other dogs, but she is not allowed to run freely everywhere. We do have a fenced area where she can move around off-leash. So if you’re bringing your own dog, it’s important to keep that in mind.
