  Hiiiii!
  We are a Spanish family living in Lucena, Andalusia, with two children aged 6 and 9 and a Golden Retriever. We are looking for a non-smoking native English-speaking woman who enjoys spending time with children, and with us, communicating naturally in English and sharing part of our family life.
  
  Lucena is a great base for exploring southern Spain. Córdoba and Málaga are approximately one hour away, while Seville and Granada are around one and a half hours away. This makes it easy to visit different places and enjoy your weekends travelling and discovering Andalusia at your own pace.

  We are a very well-travelled family. All four of us, both adults and our children, have travelled extensively and experienced many different countries and cultures.
  
  We believe that meeting people from different backgrounds and sharing experiences is one of the best ways to learn and grow. We enjoy discovering new perspectives, stories and ways of seeing the world, and we would love to share our own experiences with someone who feels the same way.
  
  We offer a natural Spanish-English cultural exchange within our family. When the children are around, we will speak English so they can practise and interact naturally with a native English speaker. When the children are at school or doing their own activities, we will speak Spanish, giving you the opportunity to practise Spanish through everyday conversations with us.
  
  Lucena is a historic city with a rich Jewish, Christian and Muslim heritage, often described as a city of three cultures. It has many interesting historical sites and beautiful places to discover.
  It is also a great base for exploring Andalusia, with Córdoba and Málaga about one hour away and Seville and Granada around one and a half hours away. There are also many beautiful historic towns and villages nearby, making it easy to explore the region during your free time.
  
  If you wish to take Spanish classes, we can recommend suitable schools and help you with any questions or doubts you may have about your lessons. We would also be happy to share family meals and activities with you if you wish, while you are completely free to explore Andalusia and make your own plans.

  Arbeit

  The arrangement is around 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with a flexible schedule that adapts to our family routine.
  Normally, this would be around two hours of household help in the morning, between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., at whatever time within that window suits you best, and around two hours of family time from approximately 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Our children finish school at 2 p.m., so we would have lunch together and you would interact naturally with them in English while we are also around.
  
  There is no babysitting or childcare involved.
  
  One day a week, I usually have to travel for work, although the day can vary and is normally Tuesday. On that day, there would be no morning household help, so those two hours would be redistributed throughout the other days of the week. This would usually mean around 2.5 hours of household help on the other mornings, giving you one completely free morning.
  There is also normally one afternoon a week when the children spend the afternoon with their godparents. This is usually Thursday, although the day can vary depending on our plans. On that day, instead of the usual 2–4 p.m. family time, you would come with me to pick the children up from school and spend some time with them in English before they go to their godparents. The whole process usually takes around 45 minutes, so it gives the children an extra opportunity to practise English and interact with you. The remaining family-time hours would be moved to another day, for example an afternoon when you would like to spend some extra time with us and join us in a family activity.
  From January onwards, the arrangement changes slightly. Some mornings, instead of doing the household help, you would come with me to the non-profit association I work with. We organise storytelling sessions and other recreational activities in schools, all in English, using stories, games and play to work on values such as teamwork, empathy, respect, inclusion and awareness of bullying. These mornings can sometimes run from around 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. When this happens, we would compensate for the longer morning with additional free time on other days.
  We try to keep the schedule flexible so that the total time remains around 20 hours per week, while also making the most of the opportunities to spend time together and practise English naturally.

  Unterkunft

  We have a spacious, open-plan loft where you will have your own private bedroom, located on the upper level overlooking the living area. The loft is approximately a 10–15 minute bike ride from our home, and we will provide a bicycle so you can get around independently.
  The loft is a fun and comfortable space with a play area and a sports area, including a climbing wall. We sometimes go there as a family, especially in the afternoons after the children’s extracurricular activities, to spend some time together and enjoy the space. Outside of these family visits, you will have the loft as your own space, with privacy and independence.

  I work in a company importing and exporting tropical fruit and my husband is a dental prosthetist. We are an active family who enjoys travelling, discovering new places, spending time outdoors and sharing experiences. We have travelled extensively as a family and are open-minded and curious about other cultures and ways of life.
  
  We have a friendly Golden Retriever, called Luna, so you should be comfortable around dogs and not have a dog allergy.
  
  We are looking for someone responsible, respectful, easy-going and independent, but also sociable and happy to be part of family life.
  
  We would like this to be a positive experience for everyone, with clear communication and mutual respect. We are happy to help you discover the area, recommend places to visit and help you settle in during your stay.
