  Hi, I'm writing in Italian because I can't host people who don't have at least a basic knowledge of Italian because it's the only language I know (sorry!). My name is Alessandra and I live in the countryside in front of the Calaforno Park, between Giarratana and Monterosso, on the Iblei. I am kept company by plants and wild animals and by friends with whom we have created a mutual aid network. I have been reclaiming land for 3 years, after decades of abandonment, which above all means freeing olive trees, almond trees, carob trees, spontaneous medicinal plants, etc. etc. from ampelodesma and other beautiful and useful plants which however suffocate the others a little too much. Natural sciences and phytotherapy are among the things I am most passionate about. The house I live in is not finished yet but I live there with great pleasure, the sunrises are beautiful and the wind confuses you.
  
  Ciao, scrivo in italiano perchè tanto non posso ospitare persone che non hanno almeno una base di italiano perchè è l'unica lingua che conosco (mi dispiace!).
  Mi chiamo Alessandra e vivo in campagna di fronte al Parco di Calaforno, tra Giarratana e Monterosso, sugli Iblei. Mi fanno compagnia piante e animali selvatici e le amiche e amici con cui abbiamo creato una rete di Mutuo Aiuto.
  Sto riprendendo un terreno da 5 anni, dopo decenni di abbandono, che significa soprattutto liberare olivi, mandorli, carrubbi, piante spontanee medicinali ecc. ecc. dall'ampelodesma e altre belle e utili piante che però soffocano un po' troppo le altre.
  Le scienze naturali e la fitoterapia sono tra le cose che più mi appassionano.
  
  La casa in cui vivo non è ancora finita ma ci vivo con tanto piacere, le albe sono bellissime e il vento ti confonde.

  take care of some plants (pruning, hoeing, fertilizing...), working with the brush cutter also to make firebreaks, continuing the construction of the house with wood and bamboo mainly and clay and lime plasters, restoring dry stone walls, collecting medicinal plants. We can decide from time to time how much to work and when to do it together or separately (every now and then I need solitude...).
  
  curare alcune piante (potare, zappare, concimare...), lavorare col decespugliatore anche per fare tagliafuoco, continuare la costruzione della casa con legno e bambù prevalentemente e intonaci di argilla e calce, ripristinare muretti a secco, raccogliere piante medicinali.
  Possiamo decidere di volta in volta quanto lavorare e quando farlo assieme o separatamente (ogni tanto ho bisogno di solitudine...).

  Unterkunft

  I only have a cot for indoor accommodations, but in a room without heating. I can also offer a tent or a space for a camper or van if you're traveling. In addition to the tent, I can provide mattresses, blankets, pillows, and towels.
  The kitchen and bathroom are obviously available to you.
  I'm definitely happy to share dinner; for breakfast and lunch, we'll discuss it day by day.
  I'm vegan; we can make exceptions if you really want to eat some animal products, but please, not every day! Of course, I'm talking about meals shared in the kitchen; in your tent or camper, you're completely free to do so.

  Ho solo un lettino per ospitare al chiuso ma in una stanza senza riscaldamenti, posso anche offrire una tenda o un posto per camper o furgoni se state così viaggiando. Oltre alla tenda posso fornirvi di materassini, coperte, cuscini e asciugamani.
  La cucina e il bagno sono ovviamente a vostra disposizione.
  Sicuramente mi fa piacere condividere la cena, per la colazione e il pranzo vediamo di giorno in giorno.
  Io sono vegana, possiamo fare delle eccezioni se proprio avete desiderio di mangiare qualche prodotto di origine animale ma vi prego non ogni giorno! Ovviamente parlo dei pasti condivisi in cucina, nella vostra tenda o camper siete liberissimi.

  I really like taking long walks, both in the countryside and in the city, so we can go on tours together. I don't have a driving license but the town of Giarratana is only 2.5 km away. I don't have any pets but yours are welcome, please just check that they are not too destructive to the plants and wild animals that live here with me.
  
  Mi piace tanto fare lunghe camminate, sia in campagna che in città, per cui possiamo fare dei giri assieme. Non ho la patente ma il paese di Giarratana è a soli 2,5 km.
  Io non ho animali domestici ma i vostri sono i ben venuti, per favore controllate solo che non siano troppo distruttivi con le piante e gli animali selvatici che vivono qui con me.
