WE ARE NOT ABLE TO HOST PARENTS WITH CHILDREN.
This is an Holistic school for a sustainable life.
We started this amazing and innovative school project 2018. With this school we want to set a new path for all the generations to come. Our school is the where Molkom's community's children go and has a new approach to pedagogy and learning. The school has classes F-9 (ages 6 - 16).
We invite people with either gardening skills, building skills or to contribute with activities for children in the breaks, like art, yoga, dance, meditation.

Molkom is a small town in the beautiful county of Värmland. The nature surrounding us here consists of forests, mountains and lakes. If you love to go hiking, canoeing or enjoy other experiences in nature this is a perfect spot.
Molkom is also a vibrant community . There are about 150 people who have moved to Molkom and are part of this community. They have access to the rewarding meetings and experiences. The tranquillity and the beauty of the landscape are also contributing factors.
As a Workaway volunteer at our school you will be able to enjoy the community life and the free program offered for extended community in Molkom. You will also have the opportunity to get to know many of the children and parents at the school and become a part of the warm and welcoming extended community of Molkom. Here people from many different countries and backgrounds mix and life together in cooperation and mutual support. There is a lot of openness and acceptance for all different walks of life and you will find many people who are interested in deep personal and social transformation.

Arbeit
Minimun stay 1 month, preferably 2-6 months.
We have a great location for the school in an old village school here in Molkom, Värmland. We already have a lovely permaculture forest garden and vegetable garden which we are looking for an helping hand. Your contribution and work will provide the children with a beautiful outdoor environment. We use mainly organic and sustainable material for furniture and decorating, we use lots of herbs and plants for outdoor teaching , which also creates a connection to our interrelatedness, the positive impact of a safe and toxic free environment.
We are looking for volunteers that can support us in different areas:
Garden:
-We are looking for someone with practical skills and knows how to take care of perennial plants, have harvested before fruits, berries, herbs in Autumn ( sept - okt).
- We'd like you to have an interest in compost, lawn maintenance, weeding and watering (may-june and sept-okt).
- For this volunteer position it is crucial that you have knowledge and experience of gardening in Molkoms/Swedens climate zone.
Recess and after school activities:
- Complement our team while enjoying to be around children and interacting with them with yoga / meditaion / dancing / creative activities
Cleaning:
- Includes both daily cleaning of our school and deep cleaning.
Building and renovations
- supporting our caretaker around the buildings.

For all these areas it's important that you can work both in a team and independently.
To apply for working at our school we ask you to stay for a minimum of 1 month, preferably 2-6. This makes it easier for us to make projects happen with you being involved and to have a safe environment for our students.

Unterkunft
During your stay here you will have accommodation in one of the local community's home. This means a bed in your own room with shared bathroom and kitchen. The school provides breakfast and cooked vegetarian lunch mon - fri. We will also provide you with foodstuff to cook your own dinners and meals during the weekends.
Important to be aware of is we uphold ethical guidelines of being completely drug and alcohol free and you will be required to adhere to these guidelines for living and working with us.
The closest shop is also about 5 min bike ride from the school and where you stay.
The closest larger town with shops, cinemas, restaurants, trainstation, etc is Karlstad, 30 km from Molkom. There are regular bussservices between Molkom and Karlstad. Also a lot of ridesharing is arranged within the community and it is usually possible to find a lift if needed.

During the summer months there are many places in the near area that arrange a variety of nature experiences. During the winter there are a few skihills close by.
Karlstad (30 km from Molkom) is a university town with museums, theater, cinema, cafés, shops etc.
